Victorian Era Malacca Sword Stick With Tri-foil Blade, Decorated Antique Ivory Pommel Cap Pierced With Stylised Monogram. Sn 18294 - 18294 This is an attractive Victorian Mallaca Sword Stick. The handle’s pommel cap is antique ivory inlaid with and the top pierced with stylised monogram. The handle has a brass ferrule beneath the pommel cap and ringed holes fitted with later wrist cord. It’s tri-foil form blade is 30” length and tapers to a pin sharp point. The blade has staining consistent with age. The sword stick itself measures 36 ¾” overall length. The sword stick measures 38 ¼” overall in its scabbard. The scabbard has a conical brass end cap and brass ferrule at the throat. The price includes UK delivery. Victorian, British Pattern 1827 Officer's Presentation Sword With Etched Blade ‘F.S.F.S From G. Cadets Of B. Co R.M.C.S Xmas 1869’ By C. Smith & Son London & Scabbard. ED 2552 - ED 2552 This is an original 1827 Pattern Sword & Scabbard. It has a has a 32 ½” blade (38 ½” overall) with partial fuller. The blade has staining consistent with age & etched on both sides with decorative foliate panels and banners. Both sides have 'Crown VR' Royal Cypher (Victoria Regina) and foliate panels. The ricasso has the ordnance acceptance star . The blade is also signed by the manufacturer C. Smith & Son 5 New Burlington St London’ & Royal Appointment. One side is inscribed with presentation detail ‘‘F.S.F.S From G. Cadets Of B. Co R.M.C.S Xmas 1869’. It has a voided full knuckle guard with the Rifle Brigade / Militia 'Queen’s Crown Above Slung Horn' badge. It has a curved stepped pommel with ball end, fish skin grip with wire binding in excellent condition. It is complete with steel scabbard with 2 hanging rings and large shoe. Victorian and WW1 Era British 1895 / 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword With Etched Blade & Wood Scabbard With Leather Field Service Cover. ED 2528 - ED 2528 This is an original 1895/97 British Infantry officer’s sword. These swords were a great improvement on previous patterns with better protection to the hand through its ¾ basket hilt (see page 179 of World Swords by Withers & pages 165-167 of Swords of the British Army by Robson). The sword has a 32 ½” single edged blade with partial fullers. The ricasso has the ordnance acceptance ‘proof’ inlaid roundel. There are no visible manufacturer marks on this sword. Both sides of the blade have etched panels featuring foliate devices, the VR crown & Royal Cypher ‘(Queen Victoria) It has the correct ¾ bowl guard voided with foliate design and Victoria's. It has the correct fish skin grip with wire binding which is tight and intact. The sword is complete with its brass mounted wood scabbard bound with undamaged leather field service cover. Victorian, 1866 Dated Huddersfield Rifles British Pattern 1827 Rifle Brigade Officer's Presentation Sword With Etched Blade To Major Greenwood (Former Captain IV Company). Sn 17681 - 17681 Originally raised as the King’s Royal Rifle Corps in 1755, the Rifle Brigade was officially formed in 1800. The Regiment was always renowned for its individuality both in uniform & tactics and its no wonder that they eventually gained their own distinctive pattern of sword. The 1827 pattern is defined by an all steel hilt coupled with the usual Royal Cypher with strung bugle in the hilt cartouche. Most Victorian era swords are from Volunteer / Militia Units and the blades marked accordingly (see page 174 of World Swords by Withers). The Huddersfield Rifles was a unit of Britain's Volunteer Force first raised in 1859. It later became a battalion of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment in the Territorial Army, serving as infantry on the Western Front in World War I and as an air defence unit during and after World War II. This is an original 1827 Pattern Officer’s presentation sword & Scabbard. The sword has an undamaged 32 ½” blade (38 ½” overall) with partial fuller. The blade is etched on both sides including 'Crown' (Victoria), the badge of the Rifle Brigade and ‘VR’Royal Cypher (Victoria Regina) together with foliate panels. The blade also has the ordnance acceptance star at the ricasso and an etched panel on one side ‘Presented By The Non-Commissioned Officers Of No.IV Company To Major Greenwood Their Late Captain As A Mark Of Respect And Esteem Huddersfield Nov 1866’. There are no visible manufacturer marks on the sword. It has the correct voided full knuckle guard with the Rifle Brigade 'Crown with bugle' badge and curved stepped pommel. The fish skin grip with wire binding is in excellent condition. It is complete with steel scabbard with 2 hanging rings and shoe. The scabbard has even patina. 1855 Pattern Imperial Prussian Infantry Pioneer’s Short Sword Faschinenmesser (Fascine Knife) Sidearms Both By PDL (P.D. Luneschloss Solingen) With Scabbards. One Matching Regiment Marked ’12.A.F.29’ To The Hilt & Scabbard (Foot Artillery) - 17697 These are original,( NB The one illustrated on the right has SOLD) 1855 Prussian Infantry Pioneer’s short swords with original scabbards (see page 196 of World Swords 1400-1945 By Withers). They each have 1 ¾” broad (at their widest), 19” long, heavy single edged blade and measure 24 ¾” overall. They have rugged brass handles deeply grooved for grip with ball pommels and the straight cross guards with rolled ends. Both blades have Imperial inspection marks on one side and manufacturer marks ‘PDL’ within oval cartouche on the reverse which are the marks of P.D. Luneschloss Solingen. The scabbards are leather with brass locket and chape. The leather of each scabbard has wear to be expected but all leather and stitching are intact. The brass mounts have light knocks to be expected. The throat mount of the Regiment marked sidearm has matching Regiment mark ’12.A.F.29’. Late 19th / Early 20th Century Belgian Fonson & Co Fabricants Bruxcelles Infantry Officer’s Sword & Scabbard. Sn 17608 - 17608 This is an original Belgian Infantry Officer’s Sword made sometime in the late 19th / early 20th Century. Our example has a 36” long steel blade with fullers and rolled spine. It measures 42” overall. The blade has just light staining consistent with age. The blade has a crisp rectangular manufacturer’s cartouche ‘Fonson & Co Fabricants Bruxcelles’. The blade is fitted with original hilt washer. It has a pierced brass knuckle guard cast with foliate decoration and stepped pommel with matching decoration on the edges. The guard is numbered ‘152’. Its fish skin covered hilt has small areas of service wear to be expected. The binding is secure. The sword is complete with its original steel scabbard. Sn 17284 - 17284 This is an original Alex Coppell (Alcoso), Solingen, Imperial German army Officer's dress sword. The sword has plain brass langets & flat knuckle bow. It has an undamaged wire bound grip. The wire is tight and intact. The hilt’s brass hilt back strap, ferule have foliate decoration and it has a stepped pommel with ball end. The sword measures 36” overall and the ricasso of its 30 ½” single edged, curved blade with fullers is stamped with the Alcoso company name with scales’ trademark (partially obscured by the langet). Victorian Customs Officer's Briar Wood Rummage Sword Stick By Mole Birmingham. Sn 17095 - 17095 Victorian Customs Officer's carried sword sticks not only for self defence against smugglers but also to rummage & test bales and other consignments for hidden contraband. This is a very good, original, Victorian era Customs Officer's sword stick. Made of briar, it is 36 ¾” overall in its scabbard. The heavy duty square blade is 29 ½” in length tapering to a sharp point. The blade is undamaged with just staining consistent with age and is stamped by the prestigious blade maker 'Mole, Birm' (Birmingham). The handle has a brass ferrule. The blade fits snugly into its scabbard which has a brass throat mount. There is no ferrule on the tip of the scabbard which is holed most likely to allow water to run out when searching ships or barges at docks. Imperial German Weimar Republic Army Officer’s Dress Sword By Pack & Sohne Solingen With Nickel Plated Brass Hilt, Officer’s Cord, Portepee & Scabbard. Sn 15793:22 - 15793:22 This is an original Weimar Republic Army Officer’s dress sword in good condition. The curved blade with fullers is 29 ¾” in length (35” overall). The ricasso has the manufacturer’s name E. Pack & Sohne, Solingen together with Company trademark. The blade has its original leather hilt washer. It has a flat nickel plated brass knuckle guard and cross guard with plain langets, undecorated curved quillon, grip back strap and curved pommel. Much of its original nickel plating is present. Its black ribbed grip with twisted wire binding are undamaged and the wire tight. The sword is fitted with its original officer’s leather strap with bullion stitching and portepee. The strap has wear consistent with age and service use. A section of the strap has perished and become separated but could easily be re-stitched. The portepee is intact. It has a rugged brass handle deeply grooved for grip with ball pommel and the straight cross guard has the correct rolled ends. The cross guard is crisply Regiment marked ’12.A.E.2.88’.
