Pre 1952 Scottish Constabulary ACPOS (Association Of Chief Police Officers Scotland) Chief Constables, Deputy Chief Constables & Assistant Chief Constables Uniform Police Cap By Christy’s London With ACPOS Kings Crown Bullion Thistle Cap Badge. Sn 12146 - 12146
The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS) ceased to operate on April 1, 2013 when the eight forces and the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency merged to form a single service known as Police Scotland. ACPOS was the collective organisation of Chief Constables, Deputy Chief Constables and Assistant Chief Constables from the eight Police Forces in Scotland. The Scottish Constabulary crest was designed by Mr Cairns, Art Master at Dumfries Academy in the early 1930s at the request of the Chief Constables' (Scotland) Club to be a badge to be identifiable with the Scottish Police Service. This is an original Scottish Constabulary ACPOS Senior Police Officer’s Cap. The cap has the ACPOS embroidered bullion Scottish Thistle cap badge topped with King’s Crown indicating manufacture prior to 1952 with banner and latin motto ‘Semper Vigilo’ (Always Vigilant). The badge is illustrated in image 2. The hat has a black plastic chin strap held by two black buttons to the sides and patent leather peak with bullion braid. The braid has some service wear. The cap’s crown, body and chequered headband are in excellent undamaged condition with no mothing. The inside of the cap has a clean brown leather sweat band with number ‘189’ handwritten in ink and crisp Christy’s of London impressed stamp highlighted in gold (illustrated inset in image 2). The clean red silk head lining also has a crisp Christy’s ink stamp in gold. This is an excellent original Police cap. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 12146

RESERVED RESERVED 1933-1959 Dated, Birmingham City Police Special Constabulary Commander’s Presentation Truncheon With Sterling Silver Hallmarked Plate To Special Commander G.M. Washbourne. Sn 12123 - 12123
This is an excellent Special Constabulary Presentation Truncheon to a Specials Commander who served prior, during and after WW2. It is 15 ¾” in length and has Queen’s Crown & ‘ER’ (Elizabeth Regina) in bold colours. Below the Arms. The truncheon is mounted with a rectangular hall marked silver plate plaque 23mm x 55mm inscribed ‘Birmingham City Police Special Constabulary Commander G.M Washbourne November 1933 To April 1959’ (hallmark illustrated inset in image 2). The staff has a deep grooved grip with rounded end fitted with original leather wrist strap. The wood is undamaged with no dents. A Mid-Anglian Constabulary Custodian Helmet, size 7. It has a chrome comb and chrome Queens Crown helmet plate. There is a chrome band with rosettes and a single vent either side. Inside it has a leather sweat band which is stamped with "7" (size 7) and an adjusting cord. It has a handwritten name "P.S. D16 Barrett" and a makers stamp of 'Christy's London'. This is a good condition, Kings Crown (Pre 1953) Kent Constabulary Police Constable's/Sergeant's 2 panel helmet with a WW2 King's Crown night helmet plate and leather chin strap, size 6 7/8". It has a perfect exterior finish with correct 2 panel construction and ornate black painted vented rose top mount and headband with side rosettes. The rose and headband have the original blacking. It is fitted with it's original blackened two piece King's Crown plate with central silvered Kent crest. Inside it is in very good condition. C1815 Georgian, Police/ Constabulary Tipstaff With Hand Painted Royal Cypher & Stylised Monogram ‘RP’. Sn 11826 - 11826
The earliest record of the Tipstaff (Warrant Stick) was in the 14th century. The name derives from the early origins of Policing when Warranted Officers would apprehend a criminal with the help if necessary of a tipped staff. The staff would be made of wood or metal and were not only a means of self defence but the tips of the staffs would bear symbols of their authority. Modern Police Truncheons originated from these Tipstaffs. This is an excellent original Georgian era Tipstaff in a form similar to those used in the reign of King George III. The body is made of a light weight wood with cylindrical body, bulbous stylised crown top and grooved handle. The staff has hand painted decoration featuring the Royal Crown and ‘G*R’ (George Rex) Royal Cypher. The staff also has a stylised monogram which appears to be ‘RP’. The staff measures 10 1/2" overall length and the wood is undamaged. All of the staff’s Gold, Green & Red decoration is vivid. Price for this piece of Policing history includes UK delivery. Sn 11826

WW2 Military Issue Gas Mask and Front Pack To Police Constable P. Dobson, Bury Police Staion, Lancashire Constabulary. Pol 375 - Pol 375
An Original and Researchable WW2 Military Issue Gas Mask and Front Pack with a Transport And General Workers Union (T&GWU) Membership Card Issued in 1943 to P. Dobson of 47 Bury Road, Edenfield, a Methodist Church Edenfield Teaching Syllabus to Mr P. Dobson and a spare eye visor.The Gas mask was manufactured on 16/08/38 (1938) and manufactured by "L & B R Co Ltd" and has the War Department 'Broad Arrow' stamped on it. The elastic head straps are all serviceable and the Canister is in good condition. The mask is sized as "L" (Large. The rear head pad is stamped as "No. 4 MK III 8/38". The lenses are in good unscratched or damaged condition and the mask is supple and free of damage. The gas mask tube is flexible and undamaged. The canvas front pack has the shoulder strap and original string. It has brass press stud fastenings. Inside the flap it has "LA/Bury Divn/Police S.C. Sgt 686" in hand written pen. WW2 Era Home Front, British Police Inspector's Tommy Helmet Marked ‘7’ With Liner & Chinstrap. POL 357 - POL 357
This is a very good original, WW2, painted steel Police Inspector's 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted blue and has its original Stenciled paint lettering 'POLICE' and rank Insignia bands. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped with what appears to be a number ‘7’. It has its original black oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. The helmet is undamaged with no denting and it retains its original paint. It is approx. UK size 6 ½ -7. Price includes UK delivery. POL 357
