The first is a Greater Manchester Police Helmet, size 7 3/8 by Christy's, London, the second West Yorkshire Constabulary, size 7 3/8 by Christy's, London, the third is Cambridgeshire Constabulary, size 7 1/8 by Christy's of London, the fourth SOLD SOLD is Thames Valley SOLD Constabulary, this is a two piece helmet, size 7 1/4" and the last is West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police, size 7 by Christy's of London. Barcelona Policia Municipal 6 Panel Mounted Police Solar Topee Helmet With Chin Strap and Helmet Badge Number 1811. Sn 13907:27 - 13907:27 A Barcelona Policia Municipal 6 panel mounted Police solar topee helmet with chin strap and helmet badge. In Spanish towns and cities, the Policia Municipal (Municipal Police), also known as the Policia Local or Guardia Urbana, is a police force organized at the municipal level. Municipal police are authorised in every town and city of 5,000 or more people. The Policía Municipal de Madrid is the largest force and the Guàrdia Urbana de Barcelona is the second largest. In towns and villages that are too small to organize a municipal force, the function is performed by the Guardia Civil or by the Autonomous Community force. The helmet is white with a vent at the top. It has a stitched 1" head band and metal "Polica Municipal" badge with number "1811" cut out of it. The edge is finished with a folded stitched piece of material. The inside has a leather sweat band and stitched adjustable black leather chin strap. It has a black lined inside. Pre 1952 Kings Crown Wigan Borough Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet With Blackened Kings Crown Wigan Police Helmet Plate, Size 7 1/4". 13907:23 - 13907:23 Wigan Borough Police was formed in 1836 and as part of reforms became Wigan Police until amalgamation into The Greater Manchester Police in 1974. This is a very good, Kings Crown male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of Wigan Police. It has a blue serge body, rigid combe to provide greater protection during public disorder with chrome combe plate and blackened Wigan Police Kings Crown (VI) metal helmet plate. The patent plastic chin strap is present. The inside has leather sweat band with string adjustment cord. The sweatband has an ink stamp ‘7 1/4’ (size). It is in very good condition. Port of Liverpool Police Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet By Christy's of London With Port of Liverpool Police Helmet Plate. 13907:20 - 13907:20 In its present form, the force has existed since the 19 June 1975, when it was created by The Mersey Docks and Harbour (Police) Order, statutory instrument No. 1224 of 1975. The Port of Liverpool Police is a small police force with the responsibility of policing the Liverpool, Bootle, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port and Eastham Dock Estates and Freeports, as well as the Manchester Ship Canal areas in the north- west of England. The Port of Liverpool police is accountable to the Department for Transport. Its officers receive their long service and good conduct medals from the department. This is a good condition, male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the Port of Liverpool Police. It has a blue serge 2 panel blue body, with a chromed rose boss and a Port of Liverpool Police Queen’s Crown (QE II) white metal helmet plate. The inside has a fully adjustable leather sweat band. The sweatband has "PC 665 A52 665" in handwritten ink on it. It is also stamped with the 'Christy's London' trade mark. This was a very small force and as such these helmets are hard to find. British Transport Police Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet With British Transport Police Helmet Plate, Size 7 1/8". 13907:19 - 13907:19 The British Transport Police Force has its roots very early in the history of the British police service. The earliest record of a railway police force pre-dates the formation of the Metropolitan Police (usually recognised as the first modern police force in England & Wales), by at least 4 years. No-one really knows just how many individual railway, dock and canal police forces existed in the 19th Century, but they probably numbered over a hundred. Largely unsung and in many cases, unremembered these early forces combined to form the modern BTP and give it one of the richest histories of any police force in Britain. This is a good condition, male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the British Transport Police. It has a blue serge 2 panel blue body, with a chromed rose boss and a British Transport Police Queen’s Crown (QE II) white metal helmet plate. The inside has a fully adjustable sweat band and patent leather chinstrap. The sweatband is ink stamped with the size "7 1/8", on the inside of the band it has a handwritten name "Bartlett". 1968-1974 York & North East Yorkshire Police Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet With York & North East Yorkshire Police Helmet Plate By Compton Webb of Oxon. 13907:18 - 13907:18 The York and North East Yorkshire Police was a police force in England from 1968 to 1974, covering the North Riding of Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire and the county borough of York. It was a merger of the two riding forces with the York City Police. The force area was broken up in 1974, and was split between the North Yorkshire Police, Humberside Police and Cleveland Constabulary. This is a very good, male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the period 1968-1974. It has a blue serge 2 panel blue body, with a chromed rose boss and a York & North East Yorkshire Police Queen’s Crown (QE II) white metal helmet plate. The inside has a fully adjustable sweat band and leather chinstrap. It also has a riot nylon harness. The inside peak and neck area and the crown show signs of slight normal use damage but this does not detract from the appearance of the helmet. The price for this helmet includes UK delivery. Pre 1990's Kent Constabulary Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet To Sgt 4016 With Kent Constabulary Helmet Plate, Size 7 1/4". 13907:16 - 13907:16 In 1965, the force had an establishment of 1,988 attested constables and an actual strength of 1,766, making it the third largest county force in Great Britain. Kent County Constabulary kept this name until the 1990s, when it changed its name to Kent Police, the last British force to keep the word "county" in its official title. Although still unpopular with many residents of Kent, the change was necessary as the large number of visitors coming through the channel tunnel and the ports would understand the word "Police" more readily than "Constabulary". This is a very good, male Constable's / Sergeant's helmet of the pre 1990's Kent Constabulary. It has a blue serge 2 panel blue body, with a chromed rose boss and a Kent Constabulary Queen’s Crown (QE II) helmet plate with red enamel centre. The inside has a fully adjustable leather sweat band leather chinstrap. The sweat band has an ink stamped size "7 1/4" and a handwritten "A21" and "P/Sgt 4016". Dorset Police Male Constable's / Sergeant's Blue Serge Helmet With Helmet Plate, Size 7 1/8". 13907:15 - 13907:15 Dorset County Constabulary (Police) was formed in 1855. On 1 October 1967 it merged with Bournemouth Borough Police to form Dorset and Bournemouth Constabulary. On 1 April 1974 this force took over some areas (mainly Christchurch and its hinterland) from Hampshire Constabulary and acquired its present name. In 1965, Dorset County Constabulary had an establishment of 544 and an actual strength of 466. This is a very good, male Constable's / Sergeant's Helmet of Dorset Police. It has a blue serge 2 panel body, rigid combe to provide greater protection during public disorder with chrome combe plate and Dorset Police Queen’s Crown (QE II) chromed metal helmet plate. Sn 13907:13 - 13907:13 Bedfordshire Police, is the territorial police force responsible for policing the ceremonial county of Bedfordshire in England, which includes the unitary authorities of Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton. Its headquarters are based in Kempston, Bedfordshire. This is a very good, male Constable's / Sergeant's Helmet of the Bedfordshire Police. It has a blue serge 2 panel body, chromed rose boss and Bedfordshire Police blackened Queens Crown white metal helmet plate. Italian Carabinieri Officer’s Hat With State Cockade & Ostrich Feather Plume. Sn 13907:9. - 13907:9 Inspired by the French Gendarmerie, The Italian Carabinieri is the National gendarmerie of Italy, policing both military and civilian populations. It originally was founded as the police force of the Kingdom of Sardinia. During WW1 the Carabnieri fought alongside Italian troops. During the process of Italian unification, it was appointed the "First Force" of the new national military organization. Although the Carabinieri assisted in the suppression of opposition during the rule of Benito Mussolini, they were also responsible for his downfall and many units were disbanded by Nazi Germany, which resulted in large numbers of Carabinieri joining the Italian resistance movement. Since 2001, it has been one of the four Italian Armed Forces. This is an excellent original Italian Carabinieri Officer’s hat with state cockade and plume. The hat is made of black felt material with black lace trim & is in excellent original condition, complete with black leather chin strap with buckle and black cotton lining. The left and right sides have ventilation holes. To the front it has the distinctive Carabinieri ignited grenade plate with National colours rosette and removable ostrich feather plume.
