This is an original and rare Korean War era, (April 1953 dated) Royal Navy empty wooden ammunition box, originally containing 360 rounds of .303 mark VII ball ammunition in chargers. The box is complete with its original tinplate liner and is stenciled in yellow 360 CARTRIDGES .303BALL MARK 7 IN CASES CHARGER on two sides and R.L. 10-4-53 RN (R.L. Royal Laboratories the manufacturer and RN Royal Navy) on one end. The box has an intact class 6 explosives paper label to one side and contains its original tinplate inner. The main casing is held together with strong steel nailed on bands. The price includes UK delivery. O 1352

These display boards were produced by ammunition manufacturers in the 1970’s & 1980’s for Registered firearms dealers to display their products. Based in Kingston Upon Hull, Gamebore have been a manufacturer of quality shotgun ammunition for clay and game since 1973. This Gamebore display board has a range of colourful shotgun cartridge cases all with clear manufacturer detail and a selection their shotgun cartridge components including examples of felt and plastic wadding and 2 rifled lead slugs. The green felt backed display is also mounted with a colourful paper leaflet illustrating a selection of ‘Vectan’ gunpowder tins with French labelling and a colourful embroidered cloth Gamebore shooting jacket badge. All ammunition is inert. The wood display board measures 27 ¾” x 20” x 1 ¾” and has a glazed window panel. The rear of the board has 2 holed metal plates for wall mounting.
