INERT DEACTIVATED. British, 1943 Dated, Browning High Power (Pistol No2 Mk1) Original WW2 20 Round Service Pack of Unfired 9mm IZ Rounds as issued to the SAS and British Commandos. Sn - 22787:10 INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an original British WW2, 1943 dated, 20 round service pack of unfired British IZ 9mm rounds that were issued for the Browning High Power (Pistol No2 Mk1) pistol. These pistols were normally adopted by the British Commandos and the SAS. The IZ round was the normal issue round for the High Power pistol, the IIZ being the higher powered version which used only in the Sten and Lanchester sub machine guns. There are 2 boxes available, one with a lift off lid with the ammunition headstamped B crowfoot 9MM 43 (date) and the other with a flap lid with the ammunition headstamped H crowfoot M 9MM 43 (1943 date). The brass cartridge cases are crimped onto the copper jacketed bullets. The original box is made of cardboard The box lid has its original paper label stuck on with the following inscription printed on it in green ink H. 2585 20 CARTRIDGES 9 m/m MARK 1Z (crowfoot) I.S.A.A. INERT DEACTIVATED. American, .50 Spencer (.56-56) (14x22RF) Rimfire Ammunition for Spencer Carbines & Rifles. Sn - 22787:9 INERT DEACTIVATED. The Spencer carbines and rifles were used to great effect in the American Civil War due to their rapid fire using their 7 round tubular magazine in the butt. The rounds have a solid drawn copper cartridge case with a rimfire priming system in the rim. the rounds have an impressed headstamp SAW (Sage Ammunition Works). The bullets are semi pointed and are crimped into the case mouth and the rims have not been struck. INERT DEACTIVATED. Rare, British .280/30 EXPERIMENTAL Ball Rounds for the British EM2 Experimental Rifle. Sn - 22787:8 INERT DEACTIVATED. The .280 British round was an experimental rimless bottlenecked intermediate rifle cartridge. The cartridge was later designated 7 mm MK1Z, and has also been known as .280/30, .280 Enfield, 7 mm FN Short and 7×43mm. Like most armed forces in the immediate post-World War II era, the British Army began experimenting with lighter rounds after meeting the German StG 44 with the 7.92 Kurz round in combat. The Army began development in the late 1940s with the .280 and it was approved for testing in 1947. In 1949 the rim diameter was increased to .473 inch (12 mm), the same as the United States' standard Caliber .30 ammunition, and redesignated .280/30, the bullet was changed to a heavier 139 gr (9.0 g), with a mild steel core still at 2270 fps. These are original .280/30 British experimental rounds for EM1 trials rifle made by Raday Green. The rounds have brass cartridge cases with a brass percussion primer fixed with a ring crimp. The primer anulus is purple designating a ball round and are headstamped RG (Radway Green) 49 (1949 dated) 280/30 (the cartridge designation). The copper full metal jacketed bullet is crimped into the cartridge case with a single ring crimp. This is an original British .577 Revolver (14.75x20.9) lead bulleted ball round for the Howdah pistols and the massive 6 shot Webley manstopper, usually bought by officers as a stopping weapon due to the low powered centre fire cartridges then in service use. the original cartridge was designed by Colonel Boxer who developed the .577 Boxer cartridge in British service and was of the coiled brass design. These cartridge are an updated version of the cartridge made with a solid drawn brass cartridge case with a Berdan primer. The rounds have 2 bullet weights, one at 304 grains and the other at 450 grains. The brass cartridge cases have small copper primers and are both headstamped ELEY . 577 . LONDON. British Kynoch unfired Martini Henry Rifle 577 x 450 (11.43 x 59R) round for the Martini Henry rifle adopted by the British army in 1874 and used until 1886. The round consists of a brass solid drawn brass case which is headstamped KYNOCH 577/450. The case is crimped onto a 480 grain white paper patched lead bullet indicating use in the rifle and not the carbine. INERT DEACTIVATED. **VERY RARE**. Mexican 5.2mm (5.2x68) Ball Round for the 5.2.mm Montdragon Service Rifle. Sn - 22787:2 INERT DEACTIVATED. *VERY RARE* This is a very rare Mexican 5.2mm (5.2x68) ball round for the 5.2.mm Montdragon Service Rifle, invented by Eduard Rubin of Switzerland, who created the .303 Rubin rimmed and rimless rounds used in trials of the early British Lee Metford service rifle. Rubin helped to develop this round and it was adopted for the Mexican Model 1894 Montdragon service rifle. The cartridge is unusual, being a small diameter jacketed bullet with a large volume straight sided rimless cartridge case with a cannelure approximately 16mm from the case neck. The cartridge has a piston fitted to the base of the bullet to aid velocity. The high volume cartridge case was developed to give high velocities with early inefficient smokeless propellants but with quick improvements smokeless powders rendering this design of cartridge case obsolete. This is a rare 5.2 mm (5.2x68) rimless round for the Model 1894 straight pull Montdragon Mexican service rifle made by S.I.G in Newhausen, Switzerland. The brass cartridge case is headstamped POLTE MAGDEBURG and has a unfired brass primer with a purple anulus.
