INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a mint original Czech RG-4 offensive hand grenade. The grenade is fitted with an all ways fuse which detonates on impact. The grenade consists of a black steel thin walled cylinder approximately 90 mm tall and is fitted with a screw on cap. The arming system consists of a circular ring attached unique safety pin which has to be rotated 90 degrees in any direction, then pulling the safety pin out. The grenade is then armed and explodes on impact. This grenade cannot be disarmed once the pin is pulled out. This example has a segmented cast iron body and is complete with its Demo type M booby trap fuse which retains its original finish and is stencilled in yellow along its length FIRING DEVICE DEMO PULL TYPE M. This training fuse has a brass thread instead of an alloy thread to give it durability in service. The fuse has its original circular ring for attaching a trip wire and its split safety pin. The grenade has a lanyard hole cast into the switch with a short length of lanyard for securing the fuse in a booby trap. The fuse also has its arming safety split pin with its lanyard. This grenade was manufactured between 1937 and 1945 and could prove to be unreliable in use. This hand grenade dissembles into its major parts and retains most of its original black pained finish with 3 yellow bands round ist circumference. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a Russian RGD-5 (Ruchnaya Granata Distantsionnaya, (Hand Grenade Remote) practice hand grenade. The grenade is a Russian post-World 2 anti-personnel fragmentation grenade, designed in the early 1950s and introduced into service after 1954. The grenades body resembles the RGD-5 and the body is made of weighted black moulded rubber. The body is stenciled in white round its circumference with Russian script including the number 5. The fly off handle fuse is made of steel and is complete with its original fly off lever and safety pin. The fly off lever is stamped on the outside UZRGM irv and /73 with a black stencil 3 in front indicating a March 1973 manufacture date. The inside of the fly off lever is stenciled in black TK-2 and a 3. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an extremely rare WW1 Russian grenade designed by Russian Colonel Orlov. The grenade is made of galvanised steel with a soldered construction and measures 2 3/8" across its hexagonal top. The top is fixed in place by 2 copper clips diagonally soldered onto the grenade and put through two diagonally opposed slots in the side of the lid and folder over. The grenade is fused by a length of safety fuse in the top of the protruding 5/8 round copper tube fuse holder in the top of the grenade. The grenade including the wooden 'stick' handle measures 8 1/4" in length. These grenades are rarely seen outside Russia. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an extremely rare WW1 Russian grenade designed by Russian Colonel Orlov. The grenade is made of galvanised steel with a soldered construction and measures 3 3/8" across its hexagonal top. The top is fixed in place by 2 copper clips. The grenade including the wooden 'stick' handle measures 7 1/2" in length. The grenade has a hollow wood handle with a tinplate cover on the bottom held on by two nails. There is a keyhole slot in this bottom for the friction cord. The top of the grenade has a hexagonal lid with two diagonal opposed slots on the side for it to be retained by two soldered on brass lugs on the body that are passed through these slots on the side of the hexagonal lid and folded over. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is an early WW! French manufacture of the Italian Brevettato cast iron hand grenade that was produced in the early stages of WW1. The license to manufacture the hand grenade was given to the French by the Italians in 1915 when Italy entered WW1. The grenade is one of the first to have a modern easily held shape but the fuse was still a primitive safety fuse with a phosphorated head which needed to bu rubbed on a friction surface to light the fuse. The grenade consists of two cast iron hemispheres screwed together with a top mounted fuse hole. The French manufactured version differs from the Italian made on in that the fuse has a side exit on the French grenade which this one has and the Italian version has a top fuse entry. A length of safety fuse and detonator was inserted into the top if the grenade with a phosphorated head which was struck on a rough surface or lit by a match. The inside of the top of the grenade still retains its metal detonator and a short piece of the original safety fuse is protruding from the top. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is an early Italian WW1 Brevettato cast iron hand grenade that was produced in the early stages of WW1. The grenade consists of a cast iron segmented body with a cast iron top screwed on. The top of the grenade has a 8mm hole in the top of it for a length of safety fuse that was lit before being thrown. The grenades screw on top sometimes has BREVETTATO cast into it, hence the name of this seldom encountered hand grenade. The grenade weighs 575 grams empty, is 65mm in diameter and 86mm long. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a pre and early WW2 Polish KC 1921. This is small offensive hand grenade was developed by the Poles prior to WW2. The grenade, weighing 414 grams and is smaller and lighter than the later WZ33 offensive hand grenade. The grenade has a segmented cast iron body and has an alloy fuse assembly screwed on top of the grenade which is smaller but similar to the fuse assembly of the later WZ33. The fuse assembly has a pivoting pressed steel fly off lever and a twist off wire safety pin which has to be twisted clockwise to undo a simple locking mechanism.
