DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a French WW1, 1908 dated 25/35 Mle 1880/85 time and percussion nose fuze. The fuze is graduated on a spiral system from 0 to 25 on the spiral timing ring. Due to the condition of this fuze it would appear that it is a WW1 soldiers bring back souvenir. See French Military Weapons 1717 – 1938 by Major James E. Hicks. This is an undamaged French WW1, 22/31 time and percussion nose fuse that was used on the famous French Mle 1897, 75mm field gun which was the mainstay of the French Army throughout WW1. The brass fuse is in excellent condition and is complete with its brass screw off gaine. The fuze is graduated on a spiral system from 0 to 24 on the spiral timing ring. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a French WW1, 1908 dated Model 40-55 Mle 1880 time and percussion nose fuse that was used on the French 155mm and 105mm guns. This is a large time and percussion nose fuze from a shrapnel projectiles and measures 5 ½ inches in length with a large diameter screw thread. The fuze is graduated on a spiral system from 0 to 49 on the spiral timing ring. This ring has cast into it Mle 80-M93 & ECP (Ecole Centrale de Pyrotechnie, Bourges) 208 40-55. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a Russian RGD-5 (Ruchnaya Granata Distantsionnaya), ¾ sectioned (Hand Grenade Remote). The grenade is a Russian post-World 2 anti-personnel fragmentation grenade, designed in the early 1950s and introduced into service after 1954. The grenade is made of two pressed steel parts crimped together and retains its green painted finish. The grenades body is stencilled in white RGD-5. The fly off handle ¾ sectioned fuse is made of steel and is complete with its original fly off lever, safety pin and alloy gaine. The fly off lever is stamped on the outside -83, Russian script and 22 within a two-circle monogram. INERT DEACTIVATED. British, Royal Navy, MINT, WW2, Unfired, 1942 Dated, Number 720 Mark IV/N (Navy) Rocket Nose Fuze. Sn - 22326:4
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a near mint, unfired, original WW2, Royal Navy, 1942 dated, British naval number 720 IV/N nose Rocket instantaneous and self-destroying fuze. The rockets carried a 200 yard steel cable with a mine attached which would be dragged up to the aircraft and if it was caught the mine would detonate on the aircraft. The self-destroying element is normally designed to function at an altitude of 4,500 ft. The unrotated rocket projectiles fuze was armed by the setback of the fuze detents on firing. The fuze retains most of its original green painted finish and safety pin with tag. The alloy and brass fuze consists on an alloy body and fined nose cap. The shutter assembly is contained in a brass base held on with four screws. The fuze is stamped round its circumference Mo 720 MK IV/N B.P.C LTD 1942 (1942 date) LOT 92 kby 1/45. The vaned nose of the fuze has a spit pin with a ring pull and a white warning label which has written on one side SAFETY PIN TO BE REMOVED BEFORE FIRING and SAFETY PIN MUST BE IN POSITION DURING TRANSIT AND STORAGE on the other. INERT DEACTIVATED. *MINT*. Rare, British, 1917 Dated, Sectioned for Instruction Number 101 Fuze & Gaine. Sn - 22326:3
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a near mint and rare, British, 1917 dated Number 101 fuze with a ¼ section taken out to reveal the workings of the fuze. The fuze was introduced in 1917 in attempt to overcome the number 100 fuzes weak point which often caused premature explosions and blinds. The fuze is unmarked and was probably made at the fuze factory for instruction purposes for armourers. The fuzes brass pellet holder is stamped S.W&S 11-17 (date). The fuze is complete and will easily strip into its components parts. The correct number 2 mark III steel gaine is fitted and is stamped No2 III S&C and a crowfoot. The fuze was widely used in WW1 in high explosive and smoke projectiles. The fuze was declared obsolete in 1921. See Hogg British Artillery Weapons and Ammunition 1914 – 1914. INERT DEACTIVATED. British, WW2, Strippable, No 199 Mk IV Time Fuze For The British 3.7 Inch Anti-aircraft Gun. - 22326:2
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired WW2 British, No 199 Mk IV fuze for the British 3.7 inch anti-aircraft which was the standard heavy anti-aircraft gun used from 1938 throughout WW2. The No 199 fuse was the first fuse used with this gun and was superseded by the clockwork 207 fuze, introduced in 1939 with a running time of 43 seconds. This fuze was subsequently superseded by the proximity fuze. The bakelite cap unscrews off the top of the fuze and the two brass powder timing rings come off. This fuse is stamped round its circumference A199 IV round the top brass time ring. The main body of the fuze is brass and is stamped in scales from 1 to 30 with the safe marking picked out in red. Above this are two powder time rings. Above this is a bakelite ballistic cap. This fuse is in excellent condition. See British and American Artillery of World War 2 by Ian V. Hogg, pages 107 to 111. INERT DEACTIVATED. Rare, British, 1904 Dated, Time & Percussion Number 62 Mark I Fuze for the 6 inch BL Howitzer 30cwt, - O 2163
INERT DEACTIVATED. Rare, British 1904 dated long burning Time & Percussion number 62 Mark I Fuze which was for the 6 inch BL Howitzer 30cwt 118 lb shrapnel projectile. The gun was introduced in 1896 and was used in the Boer War and continued in service in the First World War until it was phased out in 1915. The large brass fuze has a GS tapered thread and has two time rings. One of these rings is graduated from 0 – 30 and the bottom one is from 30 to 60. The fuze is stamped round the bottom body R crowfoot L (Royal Laboratories) 2/04 (February 1904 date) I (mark I) 2. See the H.M S O. INERT DEACTIVATED. German WW2, 1940 dated EKzdr C/28 alloy nose impact naval fuze. This is an alloy nose impact and graze fuze that was used by the Kriegsmarine during WW2 in naval and large calibre shore batteries. The main gun using this fuze was the 28cm SK C/28 gun used on the Deutschland class ships including the Scharnhorst an Gneisenau. The Scharnhorst made one of the longest hits ever scored by a naval gun on an enemy ship when she struck the British carrier HMS Glorious at approximately 26,465 yards. The alloy nose fuze has a brass cap and is stamped round its circumference EKzdr C/28 Rh S192 66/1940 (date) and a naval waffenampt. INERT. This is a scarce German, WW2, unfired 1942 dated alloy Junghans clockwork ZtZ.S/30 time fuze in its original Bakelite transit container. The fuze with its Junghans clockwork mechanism is undamaged in the original screwed base Bakelite transit container. The aluminium fuse has a steel locking collar and is stamped round its circumference Zt.Z.S/30 C hhj (Gebr. Thiel-Seebach GmbH, Ruhla / Thringen) 1942 (date) 0250 Waa258. The lower part of the fuze retains its original black finish to the surface. The fuse is complete with its original dark brown bakelite transit case which has ZUNEERBUCHSE and 1 cast into the top of the casing. This clockwork time fuse was used on 88mm, 105mm and 128mm Flak guns.
