INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired Russian NR 30 (37x155) Drill aircraft cannon round as fitted to Russian post war aircraft. The round was introduced on 1954 to replace the NR23 and N37 (37x195) cannon rounds used since WW2 and were fitted to various aircraft, including the MiGs 9, 15,17,19 and to the Yak 25. This brass cased round has a steel screw in percussion primer with a brass percussion cap. The round is headstamped 16K H 14 184 0 and has Russian stencilling round its circumference. The copper driving banded steel projectile retains most of its original black painted finish and is stamped on its circumference CT . The grenades body consists of a cast iron ball with cast on segments and filled with an explosive to give it a shrapnel effect. The grenade is fitted with its friction tube fuse which is made of twisted wire into the fuse body which when pulled arms the grenade. INERT. This is a 30mm Rarden (30 x 170) Drill round for the 30 mm Rarden cannon fitted to the Warrior, Scimitar and Fox armoured vehicles in the British army. The round was developed in the 1970s from the WW2 Hispano-Suiza 831L aircraft cannon round and shares the same cartridge case dimensions by Royal Armament, Research and Development Establishment and Enfield. The dummy round consists of a green lacquered steel cartridge case with a purple anodised alloy projectile. The base of the cartridge case is headstamped RN 007 and has a steel slotted plug which would be screwed into the projectile where the primer should be to keep the round assembled. There are some signs of service wear to the lacquered and case. The headstamp is rrm (obscured waffenampt stamp?) 45 9 .The projectile is a APHEI/T (Armour Piercing High Explosive Incendiary Trace) iron driving banded projectile and is stamped above the driving band ctu 253/ 44.
