INERT DEACTIVATED. American GAU-8 (30x173), 7 Barrelled Gatling Aircraft Gun Drill Round. - O 1593 INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an American drill round for (30x173) GAU-8 7 barrelled Gatling aircraft gun fitted to the Republic A10 tank buster aircraft, produced from 1977 and is capable of firing 4,200 rounds per minute. The alloy cartridge case has a brass coloured lacquered finish with some wear to the case mouth. The steel projectile has a wide nylon driving bands and appears to have a dummy alloy fuse. The projectile is held by a long allen bolt through the primer pocket. There is no headstamp to the cartridge case but it is stencilled in white 100-86001187. The side of the cartridge case is stencilled in white along its length 231 6/B 30 MM DUMMY PGU 6/B MHR 8JII0 05 . The projectile retains approximately 60% of its original mid blue painted finish. This a 1943 dated German 20mm MK 151/20 (20x82) Meinengeschloss (M geschloss) practice aircraft cannon round fitted to various German aircraft during WW2, including the Me109, FW190,various night fighters and bomber aircraft. Production of the MG 151 in its original 15 mm caliber format began in 1940. After combat evaluation of the 15 mm cartridge as the main armament of early Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2 fighters, the cannon was redesigned as the 20 mm MG 151/20 in 1941 to fire a 20 mm cartridge. The laquered steel cartridge case electric primed and is headstamped ntg 19a 43 (1943 date) Waa137. exw (Metallwerke Holleischen, Kreis Mies, Sudeten Germany) 1210 44 (1944 date). The high capacity Meinengeschloss (M geschloss) projectile has an iron driving band with a lacquered alloy pointed nose plug to resemble the fuse for ballistic purposes. INERT DEACTIVATED. WW2 1945 Dated German 30 mm MK108 (30x90RB) Tar Filled Practice (M geschloss) Aircraft Cannon Round. - O 1089 INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a German WW2 1945 dated German 30mm MK 108 (30x90RB) Tar Filled Practice (M geschloss) aircraft cannon round fitted to various German aircraft during WW2, including the Me262, Me163, and the Me109. The steel cartridge case retains some of its original brown coloured lacquer and has an electric primer. The headstamp is eeo (Deutsche Waffen- u. Munitionsfabriken AG, Posen plant) 165 44(1944) . The steel practice Type B Minengeschoss (High Capacity) projectile has a copper driving band and retains part of its dull green finish and is stencilled in black ?k? ?/45 round the circumference. The nose is fitted with a silver painted steel plug resembling a AZ1504 fuse which was fitted to 20mm cannon ammunition. The cartridge case has no cracks to the necks. It is probable that this round is experimental, as these rounds have never been seen with a AZ 1504fuse. INERT DEACTIVATED. British, 1949 Dated, 20mm Hispano-Suiza (20x110) HS 404 Aircraft Cannon Brass Weighted Dummy Round. - O 1873 INERT DEACTIVATED. The British 20mm Hispano-Suiza (20x110) HS 404 aircraft cannon which first entered service experimentally in the Battle of Britain in 1940 arming several Supermarine Spitfires and also in the Bristol Beaufighter which carried 4 of the guns internally. The gun however with its original 60 round drum feed although very effective in combat was mechanically unreliable. The gun was later modified to a belt feed which was reliable and served in many aircraft throughout WW2 including the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Westland Whirlwind, Bristol Beaufighter, Hawker Typhoon and Tempest as standard equipment or an upgrade of the Browning .303 machine gun as an effective hard hitting gun. The round was later used in the De Havilland Vampire and Gloster Meteor fighter aircraft after World War 2. This is a Hispano HS 404 aircraft inspection round manufactured in 1940, the first year of use. Aircraft rounds at this time used the full date code, eg 1940 as opposed to other services using the last two numbers, eg. 40. The solid brass cartridge case has three cast in flutes 2 inches long which have traces of the original red paint that would have filled them. The round is headstamped 20MM RML 49 (1949 date). INERT. WW2, 1942 Dated, 20mm Hispano-Suiza (20x110) HS 404, Raleigh Cycles Production, Aircraft Cannon DRILL Round. - O 1869 INERT. The HS.404 is a cannon originally designed and produced by Spanish/French company Hispano-Suiza in the mid-1930s. The guns also referred to as Birkigt type 404, after its designer Marc Birkigt and later versions based on British development are known as 20 mm Hispano. In 1938, an aircraft based version of the HS.404 was produced at the request of the French government which was installed on a wide range of pre-war French fighter aircraft, notably in installations firing through the propeller shaft of the Hispano-Suiza 12Y engine. The HS.404 was fed by drum magazines which held 60 rounds of ammunition. Later on in 1940, the HS404 cannon was adopted by the Royal Air Force and entered service arming the Bristol Beaufighter and the Westland Whirlwind which carried 4 of the guns internally. The gun was also used in Spitfires in the Battle of Britain. The gun however with its original 60 round drum feed although very effective in combat was mechanically unreliable. This is a Russian 14.5x114 14.5mm steel and hard rubber drill round for use in their 14.5mm PTRD & PTRS anti-tank rifles and the KPV heavy machine gun. The PTRD & PTRS anti-tank guns were developed at the start of the Second World War as single shot and a 5 shot semi-automatic anti-tank rifles. The KPV heavy machine gun was developed during the Second World War and was brought into service in 1949. This gun could be either on a single or a quad mount and is nearly twice as powerful as the American .5 inch Browning machine gun. This is a Russian 23x152B 23mm VYa, ZSU anti-aircraft steel and hard rubber drill round for use in their 23mm twin barrelled anti-aircraft gun that was developed in the late 1950s to engage low flying aircraft. The gun was also developed into a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun which was called the ZSU-23-4 Shilka and had mounted two of the twin barrelled cannons which were radar controlled and was used to great effect in the Russian Afghanistan war due to the gun being able to fire at high angles in the mountainous areas of the country. The weapon has been adopted by most old Soviet countries as well as India. The gun is still in service.
