DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a rare WW2 German Kriegsmarine unfired 88mm (88 x 571R) High Explosive (HE) Round (PzGr.39) for the Ship Mounted 8.8 cm/45 SK/C30 gun in Flak L C/30 pedestal mount. This round has a slightly bottlenecked brass cartridge case has two cannelures and is headstamped P C/30 (gun designation) 1939 (date) 2 Marine waffenampt. The High Explosive projectile is fitted with two sintered copper driving bands and has a removable screw in base plug which is stamped 21 DE158 39 56 20. The projectile is fitted with an alloy EKzdr C/28 nose fuse which is stamped EKzdr C/28 awl 13 /41 waffenampt 49. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an unfired British Vickers Naval 2Pr (40 x 158R) Pom Pom high explosive time fused anti-aircraft round for the Vickers 2pr anti-aircraft gun fitted to British naval ships during WW1. The brass cartridge case is headstamped 2Pr.1 MDCo 19.8.16 (date) C and a crowfoot CF (Cordite Full Charge) NC. The cartridge case is fitted with a umber 5 percussion primer which is stamped No5 IA 5/15 (date) B (Birmingham Metals Limited). The steel copper driving banded projectile is stamped 2Pr F.S. EADIE 7-16 (July 1916). The rear is stamped with the naval N, a crowfoot and various other inspection marks. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a unfired German High Explosive (HE) round for the 105mm (105x658R) SK C/32 Naval Gun fitted to type 1 IX and X type U-boats, various minesweepers and capital ships in the German Navy. The gun was also used for coastal defence and as a anti aircraft gun. The steel cartridge case retains much of its original grey lacquered finish and is headstamped 10,5cm 32St 4 (Polte-Werk, Magdeburg) amp (Dortmund Hoerder Huettenverein, Dortmund) 73 41 (1941 date) Marine waffenampt. The cartridge is fitted with a C 32 steel percussion primer which is stamped C32St. The steel projectile retains most of its original yellow painted finish and is fitted with two copper plated steel driving bands. The projectile is stamped on the side PT 497/40 DL 158 KPS (copper plated steel driving bands). The projectile is fitted with an alloy Ekzdr C/28 percussion fuze. The percussion nose fuze is stamped round the circumference Ekzdr C/28 73/40 and a marine waffenampt. INERT DEACTIVATED. German WW2, 1937 Dated 3.7cm PAK 36 (37x250) HE (High Explosive) round with the rare early two piece brass and steel cartridge case. The brass and steel cartridge case consists of a brass body and a steel base which is headstamped P (Polte Armaturen- u. Maschinenfabrik AG, Magdeburg, later renamed Polte-Werke) 1937 (1937 date) 6331-1/67 waffenampt 406. The base of the cartridge also has 4 equally spaced 4mm diameter holes. The steel base has a steel screw in C/13St percussion primer which is stamped C/13St 3JUN 842. The unfired steel projectile has an iron driving band with a tracer cavity and retains its original grey painted finish with original stencilling. The projectile is stamped round the circumference dzs 6d. the projectile is stencilled in black VL 26.1943 (date) 32 176 cwg (Westfaelisch-Anhaltische Sprengstoff AG, Coswig plant) 6.43 (June 1943). The projectile is also stencilled in white round its circumference FES (iron driving band). The round is fitted with an alloy AZ39 fuze which is stamped AZ39 d 42 (date) 130 waa345. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a rare British WW2 (1945 dated) APDS/T (Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot/Trace) round for the British 6pr 7cwt tank and the towed anti-tank guns. The anti-tank gun was first introduced on November 1941. Later the gun was fitted to the Churchill III & IV, Valentine IX, Crusader III tanks and the AEC armoured car Mk III. The APDS/T (Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot/Trace) projectile, introduced into service in 1944 to tank and anti –tank guns and consists of a tungsten core sheathed in steel, fitted inside a light alloy sabot or sheath. Upon firing, the sabot is discarded and the reduced calibre projectile carries on to the target. This projectile carries most of its original paint and is stamped 6PR 7 CWT 1BT STC 4/45 (April 1945) and a crowfoot above the driving band of the sabot. The projectile is also stencilled in red round the circumference with the tracer symbol and 45 in a circle 19753 5/45 (May 1945 date) P/O . The projectile has the following coloured rings at the tip white over red over blue over white. The cartridge case is headstamped a 6pr7 CWT I 1943 RM/C LOT 42 and a crowfoot CF (Cordite Full Charge) and 76 over a crowfoot. The projectile is correctly crimped in the cartridge case by a single ring crimp. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a rare WW2 German unfired 15cm (150 x 575R) high explosive round for the main deck guns German U Boat and Torpedo Boats and was used from its introduction in 1917 until the end of World War 2. The guns designation was 15cm/45 Ubts and 15cm/45 Tbts KL/45, the gun barrel being 45 calibres long. The projectile and cartridge case were separately loaded. The brass cartridge case is headstamped PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRULE NOV 1917 with 39 above it . The nose fused high explosive projectile is stamped on the side 4439 over be over lx 41 . The base is stamped 521 waffenampt Rm 4439 . There is a separate large screw in base plug with 2 sunken tightening lugs and it is stamped 4439 waffenampt M I 4 over 42 be 501c .4439 . The base is fitted with a tracer plug stamped Brivsch over f 15cm . An alloy nose fuse KzC/27(Lm) dated 3/41 is fitted, complete with its original stand off wooden rod. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a rare WW2 unfired German naval WW2, 1941 dated APCBC (Armour Piercing Capped Ballistic Capped base fused) round for the German 15cm deck gun (150 x 815R). These guns were originally fitted during and pre WW1 as the casemate-mounted secondary armament in all Imperial German dreadnought battleships and battlecruisers, the armoured cruiser This WW2 45.3 kilograms (100 lb) projectile was used in the 15 cm Rheinmetall TbtsK C/36 gun and was a German medium-calibre naval gun deployed on Type 1936A (Narvik class) destroyers during the Second World War. The steel high explosive projectile is fitted with two iron driving bands and is stamped 7540 Kriegsmarine stamp over M1 . The Cap between the projectile and the ballistic cap is stamped 7540 and the ballistic cap is also stamped 7540 Together with L32/A . The base of the projectile is stamped 7545 27 . The base fuse adapter is stamped 7545 . There is also black stencilling on the base of the projectile 44.(27??) KG APN . The case is Stamped 15CM SK L/45 RA 1 1957 and various reissue stamps. The case is also stencilled ?.86-KG over BALL 297 over LOT 66-N31-8 over LAB over 11-OSD-85 . These guns were later used by the Norwegians after WW2 for their costal defence, using the guns left behind by the Germans and repatriated to the Norwegians after WW2. When the supply of original German cartridge cases was used up, the Norwegians started manufacture of the cartridge cases. This is one of those cartridge cases. Most of these guns were still available for use until the 1990s. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a rare unfired WW 1 , 1908 dated British 3 Pounder Vickers Mark 2, (47x411R) common pointed high explosive round used in the British 3 Pounder Vickers gun and first introduced in Royal Navy service in 1905 as a more powerful gun, having twice the propellant charge to the 3 pounder Hotchkiss then inn use as a anti torpedo gun, which was first introduced in 1886. The 3 pounder Vickers was found to be ineffective in the First World War and were removed from most larger ships from 1915. During the inter war years, these guns were used to arm Monitors, (river craft) and lightly armed ships. A 3 pounder Hotchkiss is shown for comparison which has a shorter cartridge case in the last photograph. These guns were fitted to as an anti-torpedo boat gun to Capital and smaller ships. The cartridge case is head stamped 3Pr VICKERS II R.L (Royal Laboratories) 1908 14 2 08 (dates) N over 8 and a crowfoot (Naval) CFF (Cordite Full Charge with a second reload to the cartridge case) A (the cartridge case has been annealed) G3. The cartridge case is fitted with a brass screw in No 2 mark IVA percussion primer and is stamped No2 IVA B (Birmingham Metals) 12/15 (December 1915 manufacture date). The round is fitted with a common pointed high explosive base fused projectile is stamped above the driving band III EOC. (Mark 3 projectile made by the Elswick Ordnance Company). INERT DEACTIVATED. Dutch 12cm No 10 (120 x 835R) Cartridge Case with a brass Plaque to the Dutch Destroyer HNLMS Utrecht (D 817) on Naval Exercise FOST in 1972. Sn - 21237
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a Dutch 12 cm Number 10 ships main armament gun cartridge case that was designed by Bofors of Sweden and fitted to cruisers and destroyers. HNLMS Utrecht was in service from 1957 to 1980 and was fitted with the 12cm number 10 gun as its main armament. The gun used fixed rounds of ammunition to provided the main armament to the ship and fired high explosive and armour piercing ammunition. There is a brass plaque riveted to the side of the cartridge which is stamped HNLMS (His/Her Netherlands Majesty's Ship) UTRECHT FOST 1972 which was a Dutch naval exercise in that year. The cartridge case is headstamped 12CM NO10 G71 56 and 60 degrees in a symbol. The cartridge case is fitted percussion primer which is stamped E No 1 01 55. The ship was sold out of service in 1980 to the Peruvian navy and named Castella. The ship was decommissioned by them in in 1990.
