German Made Vintage Pecar Berlin 4 x 81 Light Rifle Scope. OPT 835. - OPT 835
Pecar is P. Kohler Berlin and some research dates it sometime before WWII but after the early 1930's *not confirmed*. Pecar Paul Köhler & Co. was a post war German company granted patents under that name. Even with modern day technology, design and machinery Pecar rifle scopes are still comparable to the best anything today has to offer. All of the scopes were handmade and personally inspected before dispatch. Apparently, years ago a rifle was recovered from the bottom of a glacier in the Alps. It had been lost 60 or 70 years earlier. Obviously no longer serviceable the rifle was destroyed but the Pecar scope removed, fitted to another rifle and test fired / zeroed in. This example is 30.5cm in length. The serial number is: 76371 which could date it pre-war or from around 1954??. Marked ‘Germany Pecar Berlin 4 X 81 Light (81 denotes light transmission). In good overall condition for its age, with various minor age-related marks. The lenses are unmarked with crosshair style recticle. A collectible scope for the professional/enthusiast worthy of further investigation. The price includes UK delivery. OPT 835.

U.S Made Weaver K6-1 32mm 4X Fixed Focus Vintage Hunting Scope with Mounts. OPT 813. - OPT 813
Founded in 1930 by the visionary William R. Weaver, the company is credited with bringing riflescopes to the mainstream. The very first Scope, model 3-30, came complete with a Weaver scope mount. Weaver started the company in Kentucky in 1930 following the completion of a contract with the state of Indiana to produce license plates. He designed and produced the tooling himself and did all the manufacturing on site, including grinding his own lenses and machining the parts. The company was a near instant success that revolutionized the shooting industry by putting magnified optics into the reach of average American hunters. In 1933, he moved the business to El Paso, Texas. By 1940, the company had become the largest producer of riflescopes and mounts in the world. This scope measuring 34cm in length the single-piece matte black finished 1in tube body is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium, the same material Weaver has chosen for its turret caps. Metal surfaces show some minor age-related marks. The optics remain bright and clear and feature a cross-hair style recticle. All lenses are multi-coated to cut down on glare and aid in light gathering and the turret adjustment is the usual 60 clicks for one full rotation, each individual click equating to ¼in at 100 yards. In good overall condition for its age, with various minor age-related marks. The lenses are unmarked. A collectible scope for the professional/enthusiast. The price includes UK delivery. OPT 813.
