WW1 U.S Army Model 1917 Trench Combat Helmet (British Brodie) With Ordnance Dept USA Long Valley Ink Stamped Oil Cloth Sweat Band, Net Liner & Chin Strap. Sn 18125:5 - 18125:5
The Brodie helmet is a steel combat helmet designed and patented in London in 1915 by John Leopold Brodie. A modified form of it became the Helmet, Steel, Mark I in Britain and the M1917 Helmet in the U.S. American troops were issued with M1917 helmets to deploy in France late in 1917. The United States government initially purchased some 400,000 helmets from Britain. From January 1918 the U.S. Army began to use helmets manufactured in the U.S. and these helmets were designated M1917. This is an excellent, original, WW1 U.S. Army M1917 combat helmet. It has its original textured olive paint which has some surface wear consistent with age and service use. It has its correct small rivet at the crown and chinstrap bales attached with rivets rather than split pins found on Brodie helmets. It is fitted with its original black oilcloth liner with ‘Ordnance Dept U.S.A Long Valley’ ink stamp within oval. It also has its original net liner and paper instruction label at the crown (illustrated). There are no visible markings on the rim of the helmet. This is an original WW2 Era Russian Civil Defence & Auxiliary Fire Service Combat Helmet. The shell is one piece steel pressing with combe welded on. The helmet has a large browned steel embossed badge featuring a 1930’s form mechanised vehicle between axes and poles. The helmet has its original green paint finish which has just light service wear and no dents. The helmet has its original leather liner with draw string and chin strap with buckle. Korean War 1953 British 3rd Pattern Paratroopers Airborne Jump Helmet By E.B. With Liner & Chin Strap. Sn 15593 - 15593
This is an excellent, complete, original Korean War 1953 dated 3rd Pattern British Paratroopers Jump Helmet (see pages 152 & 153 of British Airborne Headdress By Fischer & Lock). 3rd pattern Jump Helmets were manufactured from 1943 and featured a manganese steel shell with webbing liner & leather chin cup. They 1st saw action on June 6th 1944 for the Normandy Invasion and later saw service in the Korean war. This helmet has just one shallow dent (1” diameter) which can be seen in image 3. Its original green paint has just the scuffs to be expected with age and service use. It has the correct webbing liner & chinstrap with leather cup. The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War 1. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare. The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without joining rim and top combe. This is an excellent original WW1 M15 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with its original sweatband liner. The helmet has original chin strap bales. The helmet is fitted with an original Infantry 'RF' (République Française) helmet badge featuring an ignited grenade. The helmet has no dents and it has original dark grey paint finish which has even patina & scuffs consistent with age and service use. It is approx UK size 7. This is an excellent original, WW2, painted steel Worcester City and County Fire Brigade 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted olive green and has its original transfer Fire Brigade badge in silver and red. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped with what looks to "FAI" and "1941". It is also stamped with a number "844". It has its original black oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. This is a WW1 Belgian Fireman's Steel helmet, complete with bronzed badge to the front, leather liner and leather chin strap. It has a steel comb to the top which is secured with four dome headed rivets. The edge has a folded seam. To the front it has a Belgian Fire Service bronzed badge. Inside the helmet is has a black leather liner with brass eyelets, a drawer string and leather chin strap. The chin strap is secured on one side but the metal wire loop is missing from the other side. This is a complete helmet in very good undamaged condition. The outside is free of dents. WW1 M16 /17 German camouflage combat helmets had many paint design variants (see pages 46-95 of Helmets of the First War By Haselgrove & Radovic). This WW1 German M16 Combat helmet has its original Camouflage sectioned paint pattern in shades of greens and browns sectioned by broad black painted lines. It has no dents and all rivets are in place together with its right chin strap lugs. The helmet retains its original leather headband liner with cloth pads stuffed with horsehair (1 pad is absent). Scarce, Early WW2 1940 Dated Home Front, 'Tommy Helmet', London Bridge Rubber Works' with 1940 Dated Liner By JCS Ltd . Sn 8087. - 8087
This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, painted steel 'Tommy' helmet, manufactured for personnel working at the London Bridge Rubber Works factory which continued production throughout the London Blitz. The helmet is painted black and has the original, Gold and Black 'Winged Triangle' on Sky Blue background Company badge emblazoned on the front. The badge lettering which has some abrasions, reads ' Bridge Rubber Works', 'LBA Service For Safety' & 'London & South'. The inner rim of the helmet is date stamped '1/1940' ( Jan 1940). It has a black padded liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. The liner is faintly marked 'JCS Ltd 1940'. These helmets were made to fit all sizes. The helmet is undamaged with no denting and it retains a lot of it's original black paint. This is a scarce, early WW2 dated, Home Front helmet. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 8087.
