WW1 French M15 Adrian Combat Helmet With 'RF' (République Française) Infantry Helmet Badge & Liner. Sn 14727 - 14727 The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War 1. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare. The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without joining rim and top combe. This is an excellent original WW1 M15 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with its original sweatband liner. The helmet has original chin strap bales. The helmet is fitted with an original Infantry 'RF' (République Française) helmet badge featuring an ignited grenade. The helmet has no dents and it has original dark grey paint finish which has even patina & scuffs consistent with age and service use. It is approx UK size 7. Ancient Japanese Early Edo Period C1650-1700, Iron Kabuto Helmet & 5 Piece Shikoro Neck Guard Armour. Sn 14475:2 - 14475:2 The Edo period is the period between 1603 and 1868 in the history of Japan, when Japanese society was under the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate and the country's 300 regional daimyo. Armour in Japan has a history that goes back as far as the 4th century. Japanese armour developed enormously over the centuries since its introduction to the battlefield. It was worn to varying degrees by numerous classes and was seen on the battlefield both on mounted and foot troops. Armour was expensive to produce and held in high esteem by Japanese families. Japanese Kabuto helmets were made from iron or leather riveted together. Shikoro neck guard armour was made from several layers of curved iron or leather strips suspended from the bottom edge of the kabuto by macrame cords (odoshi) made from leather and/or braided silk. This is an original example of an early Edo period C1650-1700 Japanese Kabuto helmet with original Shikoro 5 piece neck guard armour plates. The russet iron helmet has copper fittings and slotted front mount for family or clan badge or mon. The helmet bowl without liner is approx. UK size 7 ½. The 5 Piece Shikoro Neck Guard Armour iron scales are undamaged and require binding together by cord or leather and attaching to the helmet bowl. WW2 1941 Dated British Home Front, Worcester City and County Fire Brigade Tommy Helmet By FAI With Liner and Chinstrap. Sn 14254 - 14254 This is an excellent original, WW2, painted steel Worcester City and County Fire Brigade 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted olive green and has its original transfer Fire Brigade badge in silver and red. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped with what looks to "FAI" and "1941". It is also stamped with a number "844". It has its original black oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. WW1 Belgian Fireman's Steel Helmet With Bronzed Badge, Liner and Chin Strap. Sn 13637 - 13637 This is a WW1 Belgian Fireman's Steel helmet, complete with bronzed badge to the front, leather liner and leather chin strap. It has a steel comb to the top which is secured with four dome headed rivets. The edge has a folded seam. To the front it has a Belgian Fire Service bronzed badge. Inside the helmet is has a black leather liner with brass eyelets, a drawer string and leather chin strap. The chin strap is secured on one side but the metal wire loop is missing from the other side. This is a complete helmet in very good undamaged condition. The outside is free of dents. UNAVAILABLE Rare, WW1 German M16 Combat Helmet With Original Sectional Camouflage Paint & Padded Liner. Sn 11659. - 11659 WW1 M16 /17 German camouflage combat helmets had many paint design variants (see pages 46-95 of Helmets of the First War By Haselgrove & Radovic). This WW1 German M16 Combat helmet has its original Camouflage sectioned paint pattern in shades of greens and browns sectioned by broad black painted lines. It has no dents and all rivets are in place together with its right chin strap lugs. The helmet retains its original leather headband liner with cloth pads stuffed with horsehair (1 pad is absent). SOLD SOLD WW2 American M 1941 Tankers Helmet, Size 58. Sn 11530 - 11530 A WW2 American M1941 Tankers helmet, size 58. The official designation for this simple 'bump protection' helmet is often suffixed M1938 or M1941. In 1938 the Ordnance Board initiated trials to find a replacement for the infantry and cavalry pattern tank crew helmets then in use. In 1941 the Rawliongs company filed a patent for the design that was accepted by the board and issued to the US forces the same year. The helmet is made from resin impregnated fibre with leather fittings and lining cradle. Typical of tank helmets of the period it provided no ballistic protection but was adequate for bump protection inside the tank. The shell of the M1 helmet could be worn over the tankers helmet if additional protection was needed. (see page 115-116 in 'Tin Hats To Composite Helmets' book by Martin J. Brayley). The helmet is in very good condition. It is complete and has the size 58" (American Metric Size) stamped in black ink inside the rear leather padding. The out side is in very good undamaged condition with just a few marks as your would expect from normal use inside a tank. It has flexible side flaps which house the R-14 earphones and a canvas chin strap which secures with a press stud. The inside leather liner has a draw string adjustment. Sn 10264 - 10264 This is a WW2 era Belgian Infantry 1926 French Pattern 'Adrian' Combat Helmet complete with it's original liner, chinstrap and Lion's head badge. The helmet differs from the WW1 design by being stamped from 1 piece of Steel and having a series of small ventilation holes in the crown instead of a single large hole which was viewed as a weak point of the old design. Scarce, Early WW2 1940 Dated Home Front, 'Tommy Helmet', London Bridge Rubber Works' with 1940 Dated Liner By JCS Ltd . Sn 8087. - 8087 This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, painted steel 'Tommy' helmet, manufactured for personnel working at the London Bridge Rubber Works factory which continued production throughout the London Blitz. The helmet is painted black and has the original, Gold and Black 'Winged Triangle' on Sky Blue background Company badge emblazoned on the front. The badge lettering which has some abrasions, reads ' Bridge Rubber Works', 'LBA Service For Safety' & 'London & South'. The inner rim of the helmet is date stamped '1/1940' ( Jan 1940). It has a black padded liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. The liner is faintly marked 'JCS Ltd 1940'. These helmets were made to fit all sizes. Original Royal Air Force Plumed Busby & Chinstrap. ( Sn 6375 ) - 6375 This original, Elizabeth II Bandsmans' Fur Busby is in excellent condition. It is approx size 6 1/2 and the Black Fur is in as issued condition. To the front it bears the embroided RAF red and gold embroided badge surmounted by ER crown. It has an embroided gold and blue plume holder with light blue plume. The Busby has a yellow and blue embroided 'ear to ear ' bugle cord mounted on round silver buttons with crown and RAF Eagle. The Busby comes complete with brass link chin strap backed with vinyl and leather. The chinstrap is original and correctly mounted for wear. This is a nice complete RAF busby.
