WW1 Imperial German Bavarian Reserve Infantry Officer’s Fibre Pickelhaube Helmet With Brass Fittings, National & State Cockades, Large Helmet Plate & Removable Spike Top. Sn 20643:1 - 20643:1 A nice fibre bodied Pickelhaube indicating manufacture during WW1 when leather became short. The front plate is of a reserve infantry Officer, with large nickel reserve Officer’s cross to the centre of the gilt Bavarian front plate. The helmet has domed chin scales, square cut front peak & all correct National & State cockades with screw off spike. To the interior, the light tan liner is all complete with its green inner silk. C1992 Austrian Senior Police Officers Cap PO 91 - PO 91 A very ornate peaked cap of a senior Austrian Police Officer. The Federal Police is commanded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior. The Federal Minister of the Interior is the highest law enforcement authority. The Provincial Police Directorates - established as federal authorities in the provinces - are subordinate to the Federal Minister. The Federal Gendarmerie was an Austrian federal police agency. It was responsible for approximately two thirds of the population on approximately 98% of Austrian national territory, alongside the Federal Safety Guard Corps and Detective Corps. All Austrian law enforcement agencies were merged into the Federal Police (Bundespolizei) agency, with effect from 1 July 2005. This cap has a gold bullion boss on the white linen peak with the red & white Austrian roundel in its centre. It has a gold and enamel cap badge with a red shaped backing. *Scarce* WWII Belgian Ostend Police Helmet POL 996. - POL 996 A scarce WW2 period Police Officers composite helmet of the Belgian port of Ostend in Flanders (The Coat of Arms of Ostend (Belgium) consists of a shield with 3 keys and a chevron). The helmet is military style, painted white with brass edging and fitted whit a white metal coat of Arms badge of Ostend to the front. The helmet is in great condition for its age. British South Africa Police (BSAP) Shko Style Native Police Constables Helmet With Badge. Sn 13907:58. - 13907:58 A Vintage British South Africa Police (BSAP) Shako Type helmet. This is the shako used by forces of the British South Africa Police (BSAP), which was the paramilitary police force of Rhodesia. It was created as a force of mounted infantrymen in 1889 by Cecil Rhodes’ British South Africa Company. In 1896 it began to operate independently and “Company” was dropped from its name. It remained part of Rhodesia’ paramilitary police force until it was disbanded following the formation of the Zimbabwe Republic Police in 1980. The unit saw action in the First and Second Matabele Wars, the Second Boer War, the First World War, the Second World and the Rhodesian Bush War. The helmet is cork and covered with khaki, it has a flat top and to each side there are vents. The helmet has a headband. It retains the original Rhodesian brass helmet plate. Sn 20425 - 20425 An excellent, original and ornate 19th Century 19th Century / Early 20th Century Swedish Fireman’s Brass Helmet. The helmet has a brass shell, large central helmet plate in the form of the Swedish state arms of three crowns on a crown topped shield to the centre of 2 Lions and crossed spears with flags. It has large strap bosses, leather backed linked chin scales with buckle and a brass patterned top combe. The plume socket to the side has its original removable red & white feathered plume. Sn 20501 - 20501 The M26 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet developed in 1926 and issued to the French Army during World War 2. The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without the joining band found on WW1 M15 Adrian helmets. This is an excellent original early WW2 M26 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with its original leather sweatband liner and chinstrap all in excellent condition. **RECOVERED FROM THE ROAD TO BASRA (HIGHWAY OF DEATH) 1991 1st GULF WAR**Iraqi Forces Combat Helmet With Netted Camouflage Cover & Iraqi Forces Red Beret With Cap Badge. Sn 20502 - 20502 The Gulf War was a 1990–1991 armed campaign waged by a 35-country military coalition in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Spearheaded by the United States, the coalition's efforts against Iraq were carried out in two key phases: Operation Desert Shield, which marked the military buildup from August 1990 to January 1991; and Operation Desert Storm, which began with the aerial bombing campaign against Iraq on 17 January 1991 and came to a close with the American-led Liberation of Kuwait on 28 February 1991. The Highway of Death is a six-lane highway between Kuwait and Iraq, officially known as Highway 80. It runs from Kuwait City to the border town of Safwan in Iraq and then on to the Iraqi city of Basra. The road was used by Iraqi armoured divisions for the 1990 invasion of Kuwait. It was repaired after the Gulf War and used by U.S. and British forces in the initial stages of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. During the offensive in the Persian Gulf War, American, Canadian, British and French aircraft and ground forces attacked retreating Iraqi military personnel attempting to leave Kuwait on the night of February 26–27, 1991, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of vehicles and the deaths of many of their occupants. Between 1,400 and 2,000 vehicles were hit or abandoned on the main Highway 80 north of Al Jahra. The scenes of devastation on the road are some of the most recognizable images of the war (a copy of a contemporary image of the post attack destruction is reproduced in image 1 and demonstrates the extent of the carnage). This is an original Iraqi Forces Combat Helmet & Iraqi Forces Red Beret recovered by a member of The British Army Air Corps from the road to Basra shortly after the allied forces offensive against the retreating Iraqi troops. The composite Combat Helmet with original liner & chin strap has no damage and is clean. The helmet comes with original Hessian cloth, sand coloured camo cover and net. The webbing chin strap with metal buckle is clean and intact as is its original webbing and leather lining. The rim of the helmet has a small label ‘Iraqi helmet Souvenir of the Gulf War 1991’. Sn 20423. - Sn 20423 A campaign hat (also Stetson, drill instructor hat, drill sergeant hat, round brown, ranger hat, sergeant hat, Scouts hat, Smokey Bear hat, lemon squeezer) is a broad-brimmed felt hat with a high crown pinched at the four corners.The hat worn by male United States Army drill Instructors is olive drab in colour (often referred to as ‘the lemon squeezer’ because of its shape), however, it was originally beige in colour but in 1983 the colour was changed to green with the style remaining unchanged. This example is in good overall condition with slight scuffing to the upper brim. The leather inner brim lining is loose in parts but nothing major. The chin strap and buckle are in good condition. **SCARCE**WW2 Era British Home Front, Manchester University ARP 'Tommy Helmet'. Sn 20439 - 20439 In late autumn 1940, the Blitz spread beyond London to Britain's other major towns and cities. Many were the locations of major war industries. However, it was often their compact commercial centres and residential areas including Educational premises that were most badly affected by air raids. Manchester, in the north-west of England, was hit by two nights of air raids in December 1940. These are often referred to as the 'Christmas Blitz'. As a result of these raids, an estimated 684 people died and more than 2,000 were injured.During WW2 large factories and Educational Premises in Britain maintained their own Air Raid Precautions (ARP) units and issued their staff with Tommy helmets to protect them in the event of German air raids. This is an excellent complete, original, WW2, steel 'Tommy' helmet, manufactured staff working at the historic Manchester University. The helmet has original green paint and no dents. The front has the colourful heraldic arms of Manchester University (illustrated). It is approx UK size 7. There are no date or manufacturer stamps visible on the inner rim of the helmet but they may be present under the paint. It has its original oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact and in excellent condition.
