The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment) is a Primary Reserve infantry Regiment of the Canadian Army. It is part of the 4th Canadian Division's 32 Canadian Brigade Group. During WW2 the Regiment provided personnel and reinforcements for all defence requirements of The Canadian Army. As a result, numerous Lorne Scots defence units served in the Mediterranean, & North-West Europe. This is an excellent original WW2 Tam O Shanter to the Canadian Scottish. It's khaki serge material is clean with no damage or mothing. It has the correct cotton adjustment cord and bears it's large metal Lorne Scots badge with Scottish Lion, King's Crown Thistles and Banners with Regiment name mounted on a field of red cloth. The rear of the badge has the correct lug mounts and split pin. The top of the Tam O Shanter has a brown wool bobble. It's quilted liner is nicely marked with WD arrow and by the manufacturer 'BMC Cap Mfg Co Winnipeg Canada' together with 1942 date and size '7 1/4'. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 11013:1

WW2 Auxiliary Training Service Officers Side Cap and A.T.S. Cap Badge Size 6 7/8. The side cap is in near perfect unworn original condition, showing no signs of ever being worn in service. The cap is brown with green piping. It has two brass ATS buttons at the front and on the left side a cloth and brass A.T.S. cap badge is sewn on. The patch is three layers, red on green on brown and stitched onto the cap. The brass A.T.S. cap badge, complete with wearers slider is slid onto the patch. The inside of the cap is cotton lined and in near mint condition, showing no signs of having being worn. Victorian/ WW1 Era French Military Chasseur's Kepi By Bidal Paris. Sn 10263 - 10263
Chasseur (French-Hunter) is the designation given to certain Regiments of French Light Infantry (Chasseurs à pied) or Light Cavalry (Chasseurs à cheval) to denote troops trained for rapid action. This is an original Victorian/ WW1 Era, French Chasseur's Kepi. It is in nice condition with stiffened leather peak with brass rim and flat crown. It has a light blue material body and retains it's original, brass side vent covers, brass scale chin strap supported by Lion's head bosses, bullion state cockade hanger with metal Red state cockade together with Chasseur bugle cap badge. The blue material has some light mothing to the right side. It has it's original leather sweatband liner edged in gold and the crown has a nice gold leaf manufacturer's label 'E. Bidal, 3 Rue De Rhliblieu, Paris'. All material is clean and intact with just light service wear to sections of it's blue body. The Kepi is approx UK size 6 1/2. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10263

The front of the Kepi is mounted with a small brass number '1' badge/ designation. It has it's original leather sweatband and blue cloth lining which has similar service wear. An original WW1/ WW2 Era Dutch Military Shako. The cap is made from Navy Blue felt with gold braid piping to the body and rear and orange rim piping to the crown rim. The cap has a woven/ braided orange and gold cockade. The stippled black patent peak is lined inside with a green smooth finished material. It has a leather chin strap with buckle attached with brass Buttons either side. The cap is in original condition with some service wear (a 1" section of the orange material piping to the crown rim is perished). The inside of the cap has a leather sweat band and cloth liner. French Third Republic Republican Guard Model 1874 Shako By Barrau Paris With 'Paris Arms' Helmet Plate. Sn 10257 - 10257
The French Third Republic was France from 1870, when the Second French Empire collapsed, to 1940, when France's defeat by Nazi Germany led to the Vichy France Government. Vichy was replaced by the French Fourth Republic. This is an original French Third Republic, Republican Guard Model 1874 Shako. It has a dark blue cloth over a hard body with red cloth tape chevrons on either side and around the crown, accented with gilt lace. It has a black patent leather crown and holed metal ventilation inserts. It has a patent brim with brass reinforced rim, brass chin chain with Grenadier ignited grenade bosses. It has a brass city of Paris front plate underneath a tri-color cockade. It also has a thin leather chinstrap. The shako has it's original liner and the crown is nicely marked with a manufacturer's roundel 'Ets Barrau Paris' (illustrated). The shako is clean and undamaged. It is approx. UK size 6. This is a WW2 era Belgian Infantry 1926 French Pattern 'Adrian' Combat Helmet complete with it's original liner, chinstrap and Lion's head badge. The helmet differs from the WW1 design by being stamped from 1 piece of Steel and having a series of small ventilation holes in the crown instead of a single large hole which was viewed as a weak point of the old design. Scarce, Early WW2 1940 Dated Home Front, 'Tommy Helmet', London Bridge Rubber Works' with 1940 Dated Liner By JCS Ltd . Sn 8087. - 8087
This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, painted steel 'Tommy' helmet, manufactured for personnel working at the London Bridge Rubber Works factory which continued production throughout the London Blitz. The helmet is painted black and has the original, Gold and Black 'Winged Triangle' on Sky Blue background Company badge emblazoned on the front. The badge lettering which has some abrasions, reads ' Bridge Rubber Works', 'LBA Service For Safety' & 'London & South'. The inner rim of the helmet is date stamped '1/1940' ( Jan 1940). It has a black padded liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. The liner is faintly marked 'JCS Ltd 1940'. These helmets were made to fit all sizes. The helmet is undamaged with no denting and it retains a lot of it's original black paint. This is a scarce, early WW2 dated, Home Front helmet. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 8087.
