WW2 C1942-1944 German Army / Heer ‘DH’ Swiss Helios Shock Resistant, Nickel Plated Brass Cased Wristwatch With Stainless Steel Back Case & Original Leather Wrist Strap. MISC 855 - MISC 855
During World War 2 the German Military needed large numbers of timepieces and they turned to a wide range of Swiss watch manufacturers to supply them. While no official specification has been found by observation of thousands of examples it appears the contracts for these timepieces specified that the watches should be water resistant with a screw on case back that had 6 indentations; to allow a standard tool to be used to open the case back whoever the manufacturer, the dials were required to be black with luminous numerals and hands, with a small seconds dial at the six o’clock position and the movements shock protected. What evidence exists seems to indicate that the watches started to be supplied in 1942 when the demand outstripped the German watch industries ability to produce watches within Germany, especially as they increasingly turned to producing fuses and other war material and, although again there is little official evidence, the supply stopped in 1944 due to the increasing difficulties the Swiss watch industry had in obtaining raw materials. This is an original WW2 German Army Heer Swiss made "Helios" jewelled wristwatch. The German Army had special pocket and wristwatches for their Officers and special functions. (Deutsches Heer - German). The German Army. Letters DH designated the watches made in Switzerland under the military order for Germany during WW2. The watch face is black and is marked "Helios". The nickel plated brass case is factory nickel plated (some service wear to the nickel finish to be expected). The case has all the correct features of Heer watches. The back case with correct 6 slots for tool is marked "Stahlbowden (stainless) Wasserdicht (which means loosely translated watertight) D 20164 H". The D and H means Deutsche Heer (German Army) or Dienstuhr Heer (Service Timepiece Army). The watch has a clear glass and luminescent minute and hour hands. The watch has a second sub scale 60 second timer. The watch functions as it should but has not been serviced by us. The winder works as it should and alters the hour and minute hands. The watch has its original black leather strap with buckle. A very nice WW2 German Army service watch. The price includes UK delivery. MISC 855 (watch draw office)

1939 Nazi 2nd Class War Merit Cross and Ribbon. N 135. - N 135
The War Merit Cross (German: Kriegsverdienstkreuz) was a state decoration of Nazi Germany during World War II. This award was created by Adolf Hitler in October 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in earlier wars (similar medal but with a different ribbon). The award was graded in the same manner as the Iron Cross: War Merit Cross Second Class, War Merit Cross First Class, and Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross. The award had two variants: with swords given to soldiers for exceptional service "not in direct connection with combat", and without swords given to civilians for meritorious service in "furtherance of the war effort". See page 76 of ‘Combat Medals of the Third Reich’ by C. Ailsby. In excellent order and UK delivery is included in the price. N 135.

*Un-issued* Maker Marked Imperial Germany The Honour Cross of the World War 1914-1918 without Swords with Riband. N 138. - N 138
The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914/1918) was established by Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, President of the German Weimar Republic, by an order dated 13 July 1934, to commemorate service of the German people during the First World War. This was Germany's first official service medal for soldiers of Imperial Germany who had taken part in the war, and where they had since died it was also awarded to their surviving next-of-kin. Shortly after its issuance, the government of Nazi Germany declared the award as the only official service decoration of the First World War and further forbade the continued wearing of German Free Corps awards on any military or paramilitary uniform of a state or Nazi Party organisation. Marked G&S (J.Godet & Sohn, Berlin) to the rear and in very good un-issued condition. The price includes UK delivery. N 138.

WWII German Social Welfare Medal and Ribbon with German Red Cross Personal ID Card for a Johann Biller Dated 1939. N 184. - N 184
The Social Welfare Decoration (German: Ehrenzeichen für deutsche Volkspflege) was a German Civil Award created by Adolf Hitler on 1 May 1939 for services in the social sector. The decoration was issued in three classes and was awarded for a wide variety of service, in the social sector, to the German state. Qualifying service would have been with Winterhilfswerk, National Socialist People's Welfare, medical and rescue work, or care of foreign and ethnic Germans. As a replacement for the German Red Cross Decoration, it was conferred in four classes consisting of a white-enamelled gold Balkenkreuz with Reich eagle and swastika. A "Medal of Social Welfare" was also issued for lesser degrees of service, not warranting the higher presentation of a class award. The main requirement for the award was that the service rendered should be to the benefit of the civil population. Reinhard Heydrich was awarded the decoration for his running of the Gestapo in the 1930s and for providing "security" to the German people. The infamous Doctor Josef Mengele was also awarded the decoration in 1941, for providing medical services to wounded soldiers and civilians alike on the battlefields of the Eastern Front. The German Red Cross (GRC) is the national Red Cross Society in Germany. With 4 million members, it is the third largest Red Cross society in the world. The German Red Cross offers a wide range of services within and outside Germany. GRC provides 52 hospitals, elderly care (over 500 nursing homes and a mobile nursing care network of covering the entire country), care for children and youth (i.e. 1.300 kindergartens, a full range of social services for children). GRC also provides 75% of the blood supply and 60% of the emergency medical services in Germany, as well as first aid training. GRC headquarters provides international humanitarian aid (disaster management and development assistance) to over 50 countries across the world. The German Social Welfare Medal is in excellent condition along with its ribbon ‘Medal for German People's Pledge’. The Red cross personal ID card comes in its original wallet/holder *age related wear* has official stamps and handwritten signatures. A lovely pair for the collector. The price includes UK delivery. Original, Nazi NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers Party) 4 Piece Construction Arm Band with RZM Tag. 13067:10 - 13067:10
The armband was originally adopted to distinguish members of the NSDAP from members of other political parties. This was particularly important for the proto-SA whose only uniform, if they had one, was that of the old Imperial Army or of the various Freekorps of which many were veterans. The Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (the Nazi party) armband was worn on the left upper arm. Its quality depended on the budget of the wearer. This is an excellent, original Nazi Party arm band. The armband is made of blood red cotton material with central stitched white roundel panel & black cotton Swastika. The armband has an original RZM tag (The standardised production and circulation of all NSDAP uniform garments, headgear and insignia were overseen by the National Material Control office (RZM or Reichszeugmeisterei) The RZM was created in July 1934. SOLD SOLD (29/03) WWII German Waffen SS Buckle. N 190. - N 190
The belt buckle was an important part of the regalia worn by all uniformed military, civil, political and paramilitary organizations during the Third Reich. The belt (“Koppel”) was part of the uniform and would always be worn while on duty. The belt buckle (“Koppelschloss”) was generally specific to each organization, with many organizations having separate belt buckles for officers and for enlisted personnel, sometimes with different colours and finishes to further denote specific purposes. The buckles were adorned with various mottos and designs specific to the organisations for which they were intended. Many designs used the German national eagle emblem, in a variety of forms. This Waffen SS Buckle is an excellent example of the style of belt buckle made for issue to enlisted men of the SS from the late 1930s until the early part of WWII. The front shows only light wear, and retains lots of detail as well as a light, appealing patina *see images*. The reverse is complete and sound, with an integral catch for the belt hook and a typical roller bar and prongs assembly for attaching it to a belt. The price includes UK delivery. N 190.
