WWII 1941 Dated Nazi German Mauser K98 7.92mm Calibre Rifle, K98 Bayonet & Scabbard. **UK DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED 2002**. Sn - 21393:2
This is an excellent 1941 dated German K98 infantry rifle made by Mauser complete with its bayonet and scabbard. The receiver is stamped byf (Mauser in Oberndorf am Neckar ) over 41 (1941 date) and carries the correct WaA655 stamps. The side of the receiver carries the designation Mod 98. The rifle has an adjustable rear sight, block & blade fore sight, bayonet bar & steel butt plate. The rifle retains much of its blued finish and its original wooden stock has just light bumps and bruises consistent with age and service use. The rifle has forward sling bar and the stock is slotted for a sling anchor. The rifle is well stamped and the stock carries the number 346. The rifle comes with a K98 bayonet which retains much of its original blued finish. The crossguard is stamped 9924 together with waffemampt marks on the pommel and release button. The wooden grips are intact and in good order. The scabbard is stamped 43 (1943 date) cul together with the number 3357 on the reverse. The scabbard has some minor dents front and back. This is an excellent Russian Simonov SKS-45 7.62 x 39mm, Semi Automatic carbine. These rifles were designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov. Production of this model commenced in 1946. The weapons were widely used throughout the Communist block and China. It is 40 inches overall length and has a 10 round box magazine. It’s all original wood work is excellent and it has the correct integral folding cruciform bayonet, steel butt plate with trap, sling swivel, sling bar, shrouded fore sight, adjustable rear sight and cleaning rod. The metal has the Russian Izhevsk arrow arsenal marks and 1951 date. The carbine is serial number ‘21029219’ which is stamped on the barrel action and wood. Deactivated to UK specification in 2015 the carbine’s trigger moves, its hinged box magazine opens and closes correctly and its folding bayonet operates as it should. This Mauser carbine was produced under licence by Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Belgium. FN established itself as a major exporter of firearms for International military contracts during the period between the two World Wars. This is a Belgian FN Mauser M1924 K98 Mauser type rifle. Its woodwork and metal is all original and undamaged. It is fitted with an adjustable rear sight and block with blade fore sight. It has a steel butt plate, bayonet bar & its sling swivels are fitted with leather sling. The barrel shank has indistinct marks (illustrated, unknown, most likely the foreign Government that contracted the rifle) the side of the breech is stamped with the manufacturer's detail ' FAB NAT ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE'. The rifle is serial number 3227. Deactivated to UK specification in 2009 the rifle cocks and dry fires. The Carcano M1891 rifle gave excellent service throughout the First Word War where Italy participated on the Allied side, fighting mainly against Austria. The reliability of the weapon convinced Fascist Italy to re commence manufacturing the Infantry rifle during WW2. The rifle was designated the Carcano M1891/41 Rifle. Aside from a more compact rear sight, standard non-progressive rifling, and a barrel slightly shorter than the older infantry rifle, the 1941 adaptation was little changed from the WW1 era weapon. The M1891/41 rifle was manufactured from 1941 to 1945. This is an excellent original example of the M1891/41 Rifle. Its wood stock & metalwork are all original. It is equipped with original cleaning rod, sling bars & sling swivels, bayonet lug, adjustable rear sight, fixed block & blade foresight and steel butt plate. The breech is stamped with Crown Cartouche. The barrel has serial number BA4092 which is repeated on the wood and has 6.5 calibre detail together with inspection marks. The rifle has other un-matching numbers. Deactivated to UK specification in 2015 the rifle cocks and dry fires. The rifle comes with an original Carcano knife bayonet which fits the rifle correctly. The bayonet's slab wood grips are undamaged and it has steel cross guard with muzzle ring. The 11 ½” fullered single edged blade has staining consistent with age. The bayonet has its original leather scabbard with brass mounts. The scabbard is fitted with original leather frog with single belt loop. All leather and stitching of the scabbard & frog are intact. This is an original WW2 No.4 MK1* .303 calibre rifle made in USA by Savage Stevens to support the war effort under the wartime lend lease arrangement. The rifle has excellent, all original woodwork throughout. The rifle is serial number 32C8807. The breech is marked ‘No.4 MK1*’. The grip strap has the Savage Stevens maker mark ‘S’ & 1942 date. The barrel shank has South African WD ‘U with Broad Arrow’ mark. The rifle is complete with winged fore sight and swivel rear sight. It also has a bayonet lug, brass butt plate with trap and original webbing sling. Deactivated to UK specification in 2011 the rifle cocks and dry fires & the magazine can be removed. The rifle comes with an original No.4 ‘Pig Sticker’ Socket Bayonet. The bayonet’s 8” blade is straight and undamaged, the socket has the correct release catch which functions as it should. The socket is stamped ‘No.4 MK 1’. The bayonet’s original steel scabbard has a frog locket and ball end. The throat is marked ‘No.4 MK 1’. The Winder musket was a .22 calibre training rifle used by the U.S Army in the early 20th Century. The weapon was the brainchild of Colonel C. B. Winder, who advocated marksmanship training with a rifle of similar size and weight to a service rifle but chambered in .22 rim fire, which was both economical and suitable for indoor ranges. The Winder Musket was based on the Winchester Model 1885 single shot rifle. Although it was never officially referred to as the Winder musket, the weapon was informally named in honour of Colonel Winder, and has since generally been referred to as the Winder musket. The Winder Musket was superseded by the 1922 Model bolt-action training rifle. Winder Musket serial number records are sketchy having several gaps in the record log. Winders made in 1918 and 1919 were given the designation ‘Model 87’. This is an excellent original example of the Winder Musket. It has Winchester 1879 Patent information on the barrel together with calibre detail and manufacturer trade mark stamped on the top steel action tang. It is serial number ‘116903’ (all illustrated). It has a 28” round steel barrel (43 ¾” overall), an adjustable rear target sight and block & blade fore sight. It has a steel butt plate, fore end block, barrel bands and sling swivels. The metal has even patina. The Musket has excellent all original undamaged wood work which has just minor bumps and bruises consistent with age and use. It has an external hammer. This is an excellent WW1 1918 dated SMLE No.1 Mk III* .303 calibre rifle. The rifle has good condition woodwork throughout together with nice clear date & manufacturer's stamps. The breech is stamped at the wrist GR with King’s Crown BSA Co 1918 SHT L.E III*. The rifle is complete with stripper clip loading bridge, winged fore sight and adjustable rear sight with wing protectors. The rifle also has a brass butt plate with trap and original webbing sling. Deactivated to UK specification it cocks, strips and dry fires and the magazine can be removed. The rifle is serial number J 90661 which is stamped on the breech. The rifle comes with an original British WW2 dated Pattern 1907 bayonet complete with scabbard. The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped by the manufacturer 'WSC' (Wilkinson Sword Company) and King’s Crown together 1907 (pattern) and 9 42 (September 1942 date). The reverse is stamped with WD inspection marks. The blade has just light staining consistent with age and its slab wood grips have just the knocks bumps and bruises to be expected. This is an excellent Cold War / Vietnam War Era Chinese Jianshe Arsenal (State Factory 26) Semi Automatic carbine (these rifles were a variant of the Russian Simonov SKS-45 7.62 x 39mm, Semi Automatic rifle designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov. Production of the Russian SKS commenced in 1946. The weapons were Widely used throughout the Communist block and China who began producing their own variants designated the Type 56 which saw service throughout the Cold War and Vietnam war. It is 40 ½” overall length with a 20” barrel and has a hinged box magazine. The gun retains most of its original blued finish and has all its original wood work with just knocks bumps and bruises to be expected . The gun has the correct folding bayonet, steel butt plate with hinged trap, sling swivel, sling bar, shrouded fore sight and adjustable rear sight. The left side of the breech has the triangular arsenal mark with 26 of the Jianshe Arsenal 26 (also known as State Factory 296) and Soviet/ Chinese script letters together with serial number 22005285 which dates it to 1956 – 1958. The number 05258 is repeated on the bolt, breech housing, magazine and the wooden butt. The 12” clean cruciform bayonet with typical chisel tip folds and locks in place as it should. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2023, the guns bolt cycles, the trigger moves and the magazine hinges downwards. The price includes UK delivery and UK/EU deactivation certificate. D 5985

An original Steyr G88 Commission Rifle with original cleaning rod and sling swivels. These iconic rifles were issued to Imperial German Forces during WW1 (see a Collector’s Guide To The German Gew 88 Commission Rifle by Paul Scarlata). The rifle is in nice condition with good original undamaged woodwork. The stock has a steel butt plate. It has a ladder rear sight and block & blade fore sight. It is rare to find these weapons in their original condition without conversion to charger loading. This example has not been converted. The receiver is stamped with "Gew 88" and "OEWG (Österreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft 'Austrian Arms-Manufacturing Company’) Steyr " together with 1894 date and proof marks. The muzzle ring is stamped with Regiment marks "G.F.R.11.14" To The Garde Fusilier Reserve Regiment, 11th Kompagnie, Weapon Number 14. Deactivated to UK specification in 2007 the rifle cocks and dry fires. The weapon is complete with an original G88 rifle bayonet. The bayonet has a 9 ¾” single edged blade with fuller. The clean blade is marked at the ricasso with the combined 'OEWG' Steyr mark. It's steel cross guard is stamped '3514'. Its slab wood grips are undamaged and the pommel's steel push button release catch functions perfectly. The bayonet has its original steel scabbard with frog bar. The scabbard has no dents. The Carcano M1891 rifle gave excellent service throughout the First Word War where Italy participated on the Allied side, fighting mainly against Austria. The M1891 rifle was manufactured at Italian Arsenals including Terni in 1915. This is an excellent original example of the M1891 captured by the Austrian Army during WW1. Its wood stock & metalwork are very good and all original. It is equipped with sling swivels fitted with leather sling, bayonet lug, adjustable rear sight, fixed block & blade foresight and steel butt plate. The breech is stamped Terni (Arsenal) and has additional Austrian Arsenal marks indicating that this is a WW1 captured weapon. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1996 the rifle cocks & dry fires. The rifle is accompanied by an original carcano knife bayonet which fits the rifle correctly.
