Post 1896, Small Frame Webley MK III .380 Calibre Pocket Revolver With Spurless Hammer**UK / EU DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** Sn 17699:11 - 17699:11 Webley MK III .380 pocket revolver's were introduced in March 1896 ( see page 151 of Bruce & Reinhart's book Webley Revolvers). This is a very good example. The small frame pistol has a 4" barrel. The frame of the pistol is stamped with the numbers 'Z7765' and ‘10267’ also 'Webley Patents', Webley 'winged bullet' legend & ‘Mark III .38’. The cylinder frame is stamped signed 'P. Webley & Son, London & Birmingham'. Its metal work has its original blue finish and its Webley signature black chequered composite grips, secured with a screw bolt are excellent & undamaged. It has a spurless hammer to prevent snagging on clothing if carried in a pocket. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2021 it has a cut and ringed cylinder & the trigger revolves the cylinder. In 1914, with the beginning of the First World War, Gun manufacturers located in the City of Eibar Spain began equipping the French Army with revolvers. At that time Smiths & Wesson’s American patents did not protect their designs in Spain and the Spanish companies produced revolvers identical to S&W Russian Calibre top break and hand ejector type revolvers. In WW1 the British Army faced a shortage of their standard Officer’s issue Webley MK VI revolvers and ordered supplies of the Spanish made large calibre revolvers (see pages 57-58 of Revolvers Of The british Services 1854-1954) . This example of the Spanish made service revolver which is designed using S&W Russian Calibre top break action designs is in very good condition and is of the type issued to British & French Officers during WW1. It has a 5” barrel with top rib which is stamped ‘Manufactura Especial De Revolvers Garate Anitua Y Oia Eibar Espana’. It has military fixed sights and lanyard ring. Finished in blue the right side of the frame is stamped with ‘Manga Registrada’ mark and ‘Hege’. The frame is stamped with serial number ‘109’. The pistol has a colour case hardened hammer & trigger. The barrel block has British proof marks and calibre information (illustrated). It has undamaged chequered panel grips (the grips look short but they are exactly as they should be). Deactivated to UK specification in 2011 the pistol has a ringed cylinder and blocked barrel & it cocks and dry fires in both single & double action. Italian Remington 1858 New Model Army Single Action .44 Calibre Cap & Ball Percussion Revolver With Octagonal Barrel. The Remington 1858 New Model Army Revolvers were used during the American Civil War and the design was the beginning of a successful line of medium and large frame percussion revolvers. Due to limited availability of Colt 1860 Army Revolvers at the time, large numbers of the Remington revolver were ordered by the U.S. Government. It was favoured for its durability. The Remington design lives on today in the form of quality black powder firearms from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta, and Euroarms. This Italian made example of the 1858 New Model Army revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has an 8” octagonal barrel and measures 14” overall. The polished steel metal work has Italian inspection marks and it has an undamaged wood grip. Deactivated to UK specification in 2006 the pistol cocks and dry fires correctly in single action only. Remington New Model Navy Brass Frame Single Action .36 Calibre Cap & Ball Percussion Revolver With Octagonal Barrel By Pietta. These weapons were popular with both Union & Confederate Officers during the Civil War. The Remington design lives on today in the form of quality black powder firearms from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta, and Euroarms. This Pietta made example of the New Model Navy revolver is in good condition. The pistol has a 6 ¾” blued steel barrel and measures 12 ¾” overall. The barrel is crisply stamped 'F.LLI Pietta Made In Italy' together with ‘FAP diamond cartouche’ and 'Black Powder Only .36 Cal'. It has a brass frame, blued cylinder and undamaged wood grip. It has a brass trigger guard and grip frame, colour case hardened action and hammer. The pistol has the correct brass post fore sight, notched hammer rear sight & captive lever ram rod . C1900 American Forehand Arms Company (Forehand & Wadsworth) ‘DOUBLE ACTION’ .32 Centre Fire Calibre Nickel Plated 6 Shot Revolver With Open Cylinders That Will Accept Inert Rounds & Open Pinned Barrel. Sullivan Forehand was first employed by the American Firearms manufacturer's Allen & Wheelock in 1860. He married Ethan Allen's daughter and entered the Firearms business in his own right operating as the Forehand Arms Company in Worcester Mass. Henry C. Wadsworth, while an Officer in the Union Army during the Civil War, also married one of Ethan Allen's daughters. Upon his discharge at the end of the war, he joined the Allen firm. The Forehand Company name subsequently changed name to Forehand & Wadsworth Firearms Manufacturing Co. This is a good example of Forehand Arms Company ‘DOUBLE ACTION’ .32 Centre Fire calibre Revolver. It retains its original factory nickel finish with just light areas of staining consistent with age. It has a 2 ½” octagonal barrel (7” overall). The top of the frame is crisply marked ‘DOUBLE ACTION’ together with manufacturer detail and 1891 patent (all illustrated). The butt of the grip frame is numbered ‘143196’. It has excellent undamaged ‘FW’ (Forehand & Wadsworth) signature Gutta Percha grips with decorated chequered panels . Deactivated to early UK specification in 1995 the pistol cocks and dry fires in both single & double action. It has open, cut, cylinders that will accept inert rounds and a pinned open barrel. Hopkins & Allen Arms Company was a US firearms manufacturing company based in Norwich, Connecticut that was founded in 1868 by Charles W. Allen, Charles A. Converse, Horace Briggs, Samuel S. Hopkins and Charles W. Hopkins. The Hopkins brothers ran the day-to-day operations of the company until it went bankrupt in 1916 and was subsequently bought by Marlin-Rockwell. This is a good example of Hopkins & Allen’s ‘XL DOUBLE ACTION’ .38 Centre Fire calibre Revolver. It retains its original factory nickel finish with just light areas of staining consistent with age. It has a 3” octagonal barrel (7 ½” overall). The top of the frame is crisply marked ‘XL DOUBLE ACTION’ together with calibre, manufacturer detail and 1871-1886 patents (all illustrated). The frame is numbered ‘T1396’. It has excellent undamaged Gutta Percha grips with chequered panels. The pistol has a hinged folding hammer to prevent snagging on clothing. Post 1959, Herbert Schmidt West Germany (Colt Single Action Army/ Peacemaker) .22 Long Round Revolver Retailed By Interworld Arms. **UK/EU DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**. D 1507 - D 1507 Herbert Schmidt Ostheim was a German gunmaking company, that was also known as HS - Herbert Schmidt Waffentechnik. The company was based in Ostheim, (Rhön). In 1950, Herbert Schmidt got the licence to produce starting pistols and blank-firers, which were then made in a rented location. In 1951, the model range had been increased, to include a double-action revolver in .22 calibre. In 1959, a single-action revolver in the Western style was born duplicating the Colt SA army peacemaker. After Herbert Schmidt died in 1974, the factory was run by his wife Christa and his son Wolfgang. Some time in the late 1990s, the company disappeared. This full size quality made revolver by Schmidt is an exact reproduction of the famous Colt Single Action Army (SAA) / Peacemaker revolver. The pistol retains its original blue finish with just minor holster wear and has a brass grip frame. It has blade foresight and grooved frame rear sight. The barrel is crisply marked by the manufacturer ' Herbert Schmidt’ with his West german address and by the retailer ‘Interworld Arms’ together with .22LR calibre detail. It is side gate loading and has its original captive ejector slide. Its wood grips are undamaged. The pistol’s cylinder and trigger move but it does not cock and dry fire. Sn 10815 - 10815 This is an excellent OLD SPEC (1991) .38 Calibre Smith & Wesson U.S. Military & Police Revolver. It has chequered wood grips and the butt is holed for Military/ Police lanyard ring lug. It retains much of it's original blue finish and is stamped along the barrel with the Smith & Wesson, manufacturer's name together with 1909 and 1914 patent details. The right side of the frame has the 'S&W Trade mark logo and Patent' together with 'Made in the U.S.A'. The steel butt strap is stamped number '703410'. It has clear chambers which will accept inert rounds and strips, cocks and dry fires perfectly. The pistol comes with 6 inert, brass cased, copper jacketed .38 Calibre rounds.
