Italian Made .36 Naval Calibre, 6 Shot Single Action (Remington Army /Navy Type) Percussion Revolver with Octagonal Barrel. **UK 2007 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**D 1562. - D 1562
This is a nice original 6.2” octagonal barrel Navy type .36" Calibre, 6 shot percussion revolver with drop downloading lever. The frame is similar in appearance to Remington Army & Navy Revolvers. The bore has just light staining consistent with age. The metal work even aged patina throughout. The side of the barrel has visible CAL .36 to one side and Made in Italy to the other. The pistol has a small brass post fore sight, notched hammer and grooved frame rear sight. It has a brass trigger guard. Its original Walnut grips have just light bumps and bruises consistent with age and use. The pistol's single action cocking and firing mechanism is crisp. Serial number 810 is stamped to the frame near the grips. Deactivated to UK specification in 2007 the pistol cocks and dry fires crisply, correctly in single action only, its cylinders and barrel are blocked. This is a good, original 5” barrel version of the (Colt Navy) .36 Naval Calibre, 6 shot percussion revolver. The metal work has even patina with original blue finish and brass grip frame. The cylinder has original etched cylinder scene panels featuring Naval Battle Scenes and engraved ‘engaged 16 May 1843’. The cylinder is stamped ‘Patent N’. The pistol's steel frame, barrel block & trigger guard assembly are stamped with matching serial numbers '12326'. The barrel is stamped ‘CAL .36 NAVY MODEL- MADE IN ITALY & C.0.M- GARDONE-VT (GARDONE VAL TROMPIA, Italy, tucked away in a picturesque valley in the Italian Alps is the birthplace of most of Europe's small firearms) The pistol has a small brass blade fore sight and ‘v’ notch hammer rear sight. The Pallad (also known as the wz. 1974) is a 40 mm Polish underslung rifled grenade launcher, developed for use with the AKM assault-rifle and intended to replace the kbkg wz. 1960 grenade-launcher rifle. The name of the weapon reflects the Polish-language word for palladium. This is a Pallad underslung grenade launcher for the AKM assault rifle firing a 40 x 47 mm grenade. The launcher is of steel construction with a swing up breech a with a, activation bolt on the left with a working ejector. The sighting quadrant is fitted to the left hand side. The launcher is mounted under the front of the AKM rifle and when mounted, the breech tilts down for loading. The launcher is in excellent condition, retaining most of its original black finish. The breech opens and swings down. The safety catch operates and the sight quadrant moves. The AKM in the photograph is not included in the sale. Remington New Model Navy percussion revolvers were manufactured by Remington & Sons USA in .36 Calibre between 1863 to 1875. These weapons were popular with both Union & Confederate Officers during the Civil War. The Remington design lives on today in the form of quality black powder firearms from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta, and Euroarms. This Pietta made example of the New Model Navy revolver is in good condition. The pistol has a 6 ¾” blued steel barrel and measures 12 ¾” overall. The barrel is crisply stamped 'F.LLI Pietta Made In Italy' together with ‘FAP diamond cartouche’ and 'Black Powder Only .36 Cal'. It has a brass frame, blued cylinder and undamaged wood grip. The Colt M1851 Navy cap & ball revolver was a six-shot, single-action percussion weapon produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company. It saw widespread use in the American Civil War and on the American Western frontier. The Colt design lives on today in the form of quality live firing pistols true to the original Colt pistols, from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta and Euroarms. This firearms grade Euroarms manufactured example of the Colt Navy revolver, retailed as the 'Sherrif Model' is in excellent condition. Manufactured in Italy by Uberti. Uberti is a well-known manufacturer of high quality replicas of 19th century American percussion revolvers, carbines and rifles. These replicas are used by historical re-enactors and target shooters. The Colt Revolving Belt Pistol or Navy Pistol, sometimes erroneously referred to as "Colt Revolving Belt Pistol of Naval Calibre" or "of Navy Calibre" (Naval is heavy gun and Navy Size Calibre was termed later for another Colt model), is a cap and ball revolver that was designed by Samuel Colt between 1847 and 1850. After the Civil War, revolvers using fixed metallic cartridges came into widespread use. The Colt Navy remained in production until 1873, being replaced in the Colt line with what would become one of the manufacturer's most famous handguns, the Colt Single Action Army (also known as the Peacemaker and Colt 45). Total production numbers of the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver were exceeded only by the Colt Pocket models in concurrent development, and numbered some 215,000 domestic units and about 42,000 produced in the Colt London Armory. Thomas Ketland & Co were English gunsmith's based at various addresses in Birmingham & London between 1785-1819. This is a quality pair of Flintlock pocket pistols by Ketland & Co. They are each 5 ¾” overall with 1 ¾” screw off steel barrels. The actions are engraved on both sides with Martial banners. The left side is engraved by the manufacturer 'T. Ketland & Co', the right 'London'. Each action beneath the pan are marked ‘KWAA’ most likely factory inspection marks. The underside of both pistols have crisp English proofs. They have steel hammers fitted with flints and steel trigger guards. Both have sliding safety bolts. The pistols have undamaged bag shaped walnut grips. The pistols cocks and dry fire as they should with a strong spring action. The pistols come with their later fitted Mahogany case with hinged lid and hook fastener. The case is lined in green baize and snugly fits the pistols and their accessories which consist of a copper and brass powder flask with sprung nozzle and brass tipped wood ram rod. The Colt Model 1855 Root Side-hammer percussion Pocket Revolver was manufactured from 1855 through to 1870. It was designed by Samuel Colt even-though it was named after Elisha K. Root who was Colt’s factory foreman and general superintendent. At that time, the Root revolver was Colt's only percussion handgun built on the solid frame principle and featured a side-hammer, mounted on the right side of the frame, a spur trigger, a cylinder pin entering from the rear and one-piece grips secured to the back-strap. The Root revolver has a sheathed trigger. Revolvers made to Colt's Patents live on today in the form of quality firearms produced by Italian firearms manufacturers. This pocket example of Colt's Root side hammer black powder pistol is 7 ¾” overall with a 3 ½” barrel. It has all the features of the original revolver and retains its original finish. Its Walnut grip is undamaged. The 2 stage barrel is stamped with number ‘042115’ and Italian proofs (illustrated). Deactivated to UK specification in 2010 the revolver has an open barrel and shallow blocked cylinders, it cocks and dry fires & the loading lever operates correctly.
