WW2 Era British RAF Aircraft Fuselage Mountable Webley No 4 MK 1* 1 ½” Calibre Flare / Signal Pistol & Holster **UK/EU 2018 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**D 5970 - D 5970
These Webley signal pistols were designed to be mounted onto a bracket fixed to the fuselage of aircraft by means of a bracket / bar on the butt of the pistol. The pistols fired coloured flares, either when in distress or for identification purposes. An aircraft fired on would fire the "colours of the day" a combination of two or more colours, changed daily - to prove that they were friendly. There is some evidence that RAF bomber crews were told the German colours of the day, information presumably obtained via the code-breakers at Bletchley Park. It has a blackened steel frame which has even aged patina. Its black chequered panel vulcanite grips are undamaged. It has a 4” barrel and measures 7 ¾” overall. The butt has the correct bracket / bar . The pistol is serial number 87794. The action is stamped No.4 Mk1*. The pistol comes with its original leather holster. The holster is in excellent condition. It has a full flap cover with single retaining strap and brass stud fastener to the body. The rear of the holster has its brass riveted single belt loop. The holster has its original leather short cross belt with brass buckle. The strap is stitched to the holster. All leather, rivets and stitching are intact. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2018, the pistol breaks open as it should and it cocks and dry fires. The price includes UK/EU deactivation certificate and UK delivery. D 5970

1960 Ruger USA Single Six Model .22 Long Round Calibre Western Flat Top Single Action 6 Shot Revolver (Colt Army)**UK 1997 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** Sn 20806:1 - 20806:1
In the early 1950s, Westerns were popular in movies and television. Colt had discontinued the iconic Single Action Army prior to World War II, and few single-action revolvers were available to meet market demand for cowboy-style revolvers. In 1953, the new firm of Sturm, Ruger & Company introduced the Single-Six single-action revolver. The Single-Six proved to be a popular seller, leading Ruger to develop and market a centre fire revolver similar to the Colt Single Action Army: the Ruger single six. This Ruger USA Single Six Model .22 Long Round Calibre Western Flat Top Single Action 6 Shot Revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has a 5 ½” barrel and is 10 ¾” overall length. Deactivated to UK specification in 1997, the weapon’s cylinders are blocked and it cocks and dry fires correctly in single action. The price includes deactivation Certificate. Sn 20806:1

**DEACTIVATED** 40MM Bofors L/60 Anti-Aircraft Gun On 4 Wheeled Towed Trailer With Full Working Electric Powered Traverse & Elevation. - D 5962
The Bofors 40 mm Automatic Gun L/60 was commonly called the Bofors gun and is a fully automatic anti-aircraft gun designed in the 1930s by the Swedish arms manufacturer AB Bofors. The gun was designed as an intermediate anti-aircraft gun, filling the gap between fast firing close-range small calibre anti-aircraft guns and slower firing long-range high calibre anti-aircraft guns. The Bofors L/60 was produced for export in 1932 and was in service with 18 countries by 1939. The gun was used throughout World War II mainly by the Allied forces although a small number were used by Nazi Germany and Hungary. Post-war in the mid-1950s the L/60 Bofors gun was replaced in NATO service by the more powerful L70 Bofors gun but the earlier L/60 gun remained in service by many countries due to the large number of surplus guns available. These guns were modified to have fully powered traverse and elevation giving them greater use, some being used in the Yugoslav and Gulf wars. The Bofors L/60 is still in service in the American Air Force in the Lockheed AC 130 gunships. This Bofors L/60 gun was built at the Royal Ordnance Factory Newport or Nottingham (see breach inspection plate) during the Second World War and is mounted on a steel chassis with a fold out centre section forming a cruciform shape for stability with screw jacks on the ends. There are also stabilising screw jacks at the front and rear of the carriage. The gun is complete with its self-contained petrol generator batteries to provide power to electrical generator to operate the electric motors on the traverse and elevation which are adjustable for rates of speed. The gun is fitted with a small gun shield to help protect the firer from small arms fire and is complete with the ammunition storage trays. The gun was manufactured in WW2 although that identification plate is difficult to read for R.O.F N (Royal Ordnance Factory Newport or Nottingham). The gun was further modified in Britain in 1952 by the addition of electric motors to power the traverse and rotation by Rotax, London, England as shown on the motor identification plate. The gun was then later modified in Yugoslavia in 1971 to a 40MM M12A1 specification as shown on a further identification plate. This excellent condition 40MM L/60 Bofors anti-aircraft gun from World War 2 has seen extensive use post war. See Hogg, British & American Artillery of World War Two, pages 97 – 100. A video and larger photos are available by email or WhatsApp from J C Militaria. The price includes a UK/EU xxxx deactivation certificate. Delivery UK mainland by arrangement is included in the price. D 5962
