Victorian Era Galles Christiania, Finnish Form, Puukko Hunting / Fishing Knife With Scrimshaw Etched Polished Bone Hilt German Silver Mounts & Tooled Open Top Leather Scabbard With German Silver Mounts. Sn 15908:1 - 15908:1
A Puukko (Finnish pronunciation: [puH0;kH0;o]) is a small traditional Finnish general purpose belt knife ideal for hunting & fishing with a single curved cutting edge, solid hidden tang and, usually, a flat back. This Victorian era Puuko form knife and scabbard are in excellent condition. It is 7 ¾” overall with a sharp 3 ½” steel drop point blade. The blade has just light staining consistent with age. The top and bottom edges of the ricasso are notched. The knife has a solid barrel shaped polished bone handle with superb scrimshaw foliate etching all around. The hilt has a German silver ferrule & pommel cap with nut securing the full tang. The pommel cap has a period stylised engraved monogram which appears to be ‘H.F’ most likely the initials of the original owner of the knife. The knife comes with its original open top, brown leather scabbard which has German silver frame and single steel hanging ring. The ball end chape of the frame has engraved foliate decoration. Early 20th Century, Simbra Industries Argentina Gaucho Cowboy’s Dagger & Alpaca Argentina Scabbard. (Sn 14446 Daggers & Swords) - 14446
Stunning antique facon gaucho knife, small measures collectible piece. Alpacca handle and seath with chiselled with gold filled flowers and small leaves. Seath sealed/markings: ALPACA ARGENTINA. Carbon steel blade with markings/sealed: SIMBRA INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA. Knife. These hunting daggers were used by Argentinian ‘gaucho’ cattle herders / cowboys. The 6 ½” single edged blade has staining consistent with age and it measures 11 ¼” overall length. The back edge of the blade has scalloped decoration. One side of the blade is crisply marked with the manufacturer’s name ‘Simbra’(Simbra Industria Argentina). The plated white metal handle has intricate writhen decoration and a void shield to one side. The dagger is complete with its original plated white metal scabbard with ornate belt bar. The scabbard has foliate, writhen decoration and ornate chape . The mouth of the scabbard is crisply marked ‘Industria Alpaca Argentina’. VERY RARE, WW1 Gallipoli Bring Back, German Made Turkish Contract Machine Gun Crews Trench Fighting Knife With Integral Fold Out Tools In The Hilt, Scabbard & Frog. Sn 13885 - 13885
Although this piece has no visible German manufacturer marks it is of the quality and form of the type of WW1 era German made Turkish Army contract knives most likely issued to machine gun crew’s and would likely have been in service at Gallipoli. The knife has the appearance of a knife bayonet but no apparent means of fitting to a rifle. It has slab wood grips secured by rivets. The grips are undamaged. The grip frame is slotted and has 2 integral hinged fold out tools consisting of a 2 ¼” long shank spike with thumb lever and 2 ¼” slim pyramid shaped spike with side slot for thumbnail opening. The knife measures 12" overall and has a 7 ¾” single edged blade with fullers. The blade has just light staining consistent with age. Its returning wave cross guard has what appears to be Turkish script characters on both sides. The knife is complete with its original steel scabbard which has a frog bar and ball end. The scabbard has no dents. The scabbard is fitted with its original brown leather frog with integral belt loop. The leather and stitching of the frog are intact. LIMITED EDITION NUMBER 16 OF 161 Cased Dagger Made With An Unused & Unissued Original Uzi SMG Bayonet Blade With Wood Handle & Brass Cross Guard With Muzzle Ring In The Original Uzi Bayonet Form By The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors. Sn 12329 - 12329
This dagger is one of only 161 commissioned by the The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors. Each of the daggers in the production run were made using original unused, unmounted and unissued Uzi sub machine gun knife bayonet blades. The hilt and cross guard were designed after the original bayonet hilt and cross guard of the Uzi bayonet. A certificate of authenticity in English & Hebrew text, which accompanies the weapon states that ‘No more original bayonet blades are available, neither more such daggers will be produced’. The knife is in excellent condition. The single edged bayonet blade with medial ridge is clean and measures 6 ¾” length (11” overall). The blade is decorated with the crossed swords logo of The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors together with Hebrew script and blade number ‘016’. The polished wood slab grips are secured by 2 brass screw bolts and the small brass cross guard has a small muzzle ring. The dagger is contained in its later felt covered wooden case. These Combat knives were carried by French Troops during the Indo China War in the 1950’s and American Troops found them still in service with the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War (see page 122 of The Military Knife & Bayonet By Brett) . This original example has the correct 1 piece cast Aluminium handle with finger guard & stippled panels on either side. It has a 6” single edged blade with short fuller on one side. The blade has staining and areas of pitting consistent with age and service use. It is complete with original leather scabbard which has an integral belt loop with retaining strap and press stud fastener. All rivets stitching and leather of the scabbard are intact. This is an excellent original WW2 Italian Fighting Knife & Scabbard. These knives have blades similar to WW1 Austro Hungarian trench/ fighting daggers and were constructed In Part from The 2nd Pattern Italian fascist, MVSN Dagger (see page 75 plates 376-377 of Stephen’s book ‘Fighting Knives’). The knife has an 8 ¼” single edged blade which has no damage and just light staining consistent with age. It measures 13 ¼” overall. It has the correct contoured wood handle with rivetsand oval steel cross guard. The knife is complete with its original steel scabbard with fixed steel belt loop. Currently Unavailable Late 1800's- Early 1900's, Malayan Native Dagger With Ornate Antique Ivory Or Bone Handle With Hand Forged Acid Wash Blade & Brass Mounted Hardwood Scabbard. Sn 10680 - 10680
The kris is a type of dagger, often with a pistol-gripped shaped handle. Traditionally worn as a status symbol and carried by warriors. The kris is characterised by its distinctive wavy blade. The blade is given its characteristic shape by folding different types of metal together and then washing it in acid. Kris were said to be infused with venom during their forging but the method of doing this was a closely guarded secret among blacksmiths. This is an excellent Malayan Kris most likely made in the late 1800's -Early 1900's. It has a beautiful 15 1/2" long acid washed, hand forged Kris blade which incorporates it's ornate barbed design. The handle is beautifully hand crafted from antique Ivory or Bone and has a decorative ferrule. The dagger measures 19 3/4" overall and is complete with it's original hardwood scabbard. KA-BAR is the contemporary popular name for the combat knife first adopted by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in November 1942 during WW2. This is an excellent Post war original Israeli Military example of the Kabar Pattern knife complete with leather sheath. The knife has a 7" steel clip point blade and compressed leather-washer handle. The ricasso is crisply marked with an Israeli State Star. Spanish Special Operations Unit, Green Berets, Close Quarter Combat & Survival Bolo Knife With Sawback & Scabbard. ED 2233 - ED 2233
During the 1970s this 'survival' bolo was issued to the Spanish Special Operations Unit the ' Cuerpo de Operaciones Especiales' their Green Berets ( see item 209 in Hughes and Jenkins 'A Primer of Military Knives Part Two'). It is 10 inches overall with a distictive 5 1/2 inch Bolo blade with a saw back. The grips are finely chequered secured by two steel screw bolts. The pommel, tang and long curved cross guard are of one piece steel construction. The blade has the National Toledo Armaments Factory emblem etched into it ( illustrated) The cross guard has ' V379' and 'U'. It comes with its original steel mounted leather scabbard which is also in good order. The stitching is intact as is the retaining strap and stud. Victorian Argentinian Large Gaucho Boot Dagger By La Movadina & Sheath. ED 2081. - ED 2081
This is an attractive Victorian boot dagger used by South American Gaucho's carried as a fighting weapon for self defence & for use while herding cattle. As is common with these knives it is ornately decorated. The dagger has a broad single edged dagger blade tapering to a sharp point. The blade measures 7 1/2" and is 12 1/2" overall. The blade is stamped ' La Movadina Industria Argentina' (Spanish: The Movadina Industry Argentina). It's white metal handle is ornately decorated with a foliate design and marked 'Industria Argentina' (Made in Argentina). The dagger is complete with decoratively tooled leather scabbard with large chape and upper mount with boot/ belt hook. Both the chape and upper mount are highly decorated with a matching foliate design. The boot hook is also stamped 'Industria Argentina'. Price includes UK delivery. ED 2081.
