WW1 Era Imperial German Soldier’s Private Purchase ‘Garantie Feinstahl’ Hunting Dagger / Trench Fighting Knife With Stag Antler Grips & Pressed Steel DRGM Marked Scabbard With Engraved Hunting Scenes & Integral Swivelling Retaining Catch Marked ‘DRGM ove - 18617
This is an original WW1 era German Soldier’s Private Purchase Hunting Dagger / Trench Fighting Knife. A similar knife with scabbard which has the same retaining catch as our example is illustrated on page 9 of German Combat Knives 1914-1918 by Mery. The dagger is 8 ¾” overall with a 4” steel blade one side marked ‘Garantie Feinstahl’ (Guaranteed Fine Steel). The hilt has its original Stag antler scales secured by 2 rivets. It has a short finger guard It comes with its original pressed metal scabbard which has engraved hunting scenes on both sides. The scabbard has an integral swivelling retaining catch marked ‘DRGM over 633823’ (DRGM - Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster German quality assurance mark). The price includes UK delivery. WW1 Imperial German Officer’s Carl Eickhorn Solingen Trench Dagger / Fighting Knife Design Based On WW1 Dress Bayonet & Scabbard. Sn 18388 - 18388
This is a an original WW1 German Officer’s trench dagger / fighting knife. This form of trench dagger were based on dress bayonets issued during WW1 (see page 50 of German Combat Knives 1914-1945 By Mery). This dagger is 11” overall with a 6” steel blade with medial ridge. The blade is crisply marked by the maker ‘C.E’ (Carl Eickhorn Solingen) together with ‘back to back’ Squirrels trademark. It has the correct Eagle's head pommel with correct false bayonet button which pushes in but is correctly non-functioning & forms the Eagles eye. The chequered wood scales are secured with two rivets. It has an up-swept quillon cross guard. **MINT**WW2 Era Nazi German Luftwaffen- Kampfmesser Pilot’s & Paratrooper’s Fallschirmjager Boot Knife With Luftwaffe Acceptance Mark & Scabbard. Sn 18277:11 - 18277:11
An original, near mint condition, WW2 German Luftwaffe Luftwaffen- Kampfmesser Boot Knife & Scabbard. These knives were carried in the boots of Luftwaffe pilots and Air crew and were favoured by Nazi Fallschirmjager Paratroopers (see page 78 of German Combat knives 1914-1945 By Mery). The knife has an undamaged, 6 ¾” polished steel blade which has just light areas of staining consistent with age and has the correct, crisp, Luftwaffe stylised Eagle acceptance mark. The overall length is 11 ¼”. The undamaged grips are smooth contoured wood and secured to the tang by three rivets. Its original scabbard is metal with original black paint. Imperial German Deer Hunting Skinning Knife By Stephan Nenning Munchen With Stag Horn Handle, Silver Mounts & Sheath With Ornate Silver Mounts. ED 2160 - ED 2160
This is an original Imperial German era Deer hunting skinning knife with original sheath. It has a Stag Horn handle with plain Silver pommel cap. It also has a Silver ferrule ornately engraved with an Oak leaf design. The knife has a 4" single edged blade with integral finger guard and is crisply marked on one side by the manufacturer or retailer ‘Stephan Nenning Munchen’. The blade is undamaged and has staining consistent with age. There is no damage to the blade and the cutting edge is sharp with no nicks. It measures 7 ¾” overall length. The dagger is complete with original black leather sheath which has a silver chape and throat mount. Both are ornately decorated with Oak leaves and panels featuring Stags in the field and banners & arms. All leather and stitching are intact. This is an excellent, original, WW1 Model 1917 Austrian Fighting knife By George Roth. It has a broad, clean 8 " single edged blade (12 1/2" overall) and undamaged slab wood grips. One grip has 2 grooves to assist grip. The knife has a straight cross guard and the ricasso of the blade is crisply stamped with the makers monogram (illustrated). It is complete with steel scabbard with original black paint finish. The scabbard is undented and at the rear has it's rivetted 2 bar fixing for strap/ belt attachment.
