Inter World War German Trench Dagger/Knife By Eickhorn, Solingen & Scabbard With Integral Frog/ Belt Loop. Sn 11046 - 11046 This is a German trench dagger/fighting knife. These daggers were made during the Inter War years by Eickhorn Solingen in the form of WW1 Imperial German Trench Daggers which were modelled on period German Army dress bayonets. (see page 37 Item 151 of Fred Stephens book Fighting Knives). This example is 10 ¼” overall with a 5 ¼”steel blade. It has an Eagle's head pommel (WW1 versions had functioning false bayonet button which forms the Eagles eye. Inter War versions as with this example have plain pommels without button). The grips are chequered hard rubber secured with two rivets. It has a short up-swept quillon cross guard. The blade has no manufacturer marks but this dagger is typical of those made by Eickhorn. This is a very well made and substantial trench dagger. It comes with its original metal scabbard which retains most of its original black paint. **QUALITY**German Hand Made Hubertus Knife Company Multi-Tool Hunting Knife With Rostfrei (Stainless / Stain Resistant) Saw Section Steel Blade, Stag Antler Scales With Folding Blades / Tools & Leather Scabbard With Belt Frog. Sn 20463 - 20463 The Hubertus Knife Company was founded by Kuno Ritter in 1932, called The Ritter Knife Company. Kuno Ritter and his crew made the first Boy Scout knives for the German Boy Scouts and produced many Styles of Hunting Knives as well. In the 1950's the growth of the Knife Industry took a leap and William Ritter son of Kuno Ritter changed the Company's name to HUBERTUS.The name HUBERTUS in German means "The Saint of the Hunters". Walter Ritter and wife Beate took control of the operation of the Company in 1984 and are still producing knives in a little factory in Solingen Germany. Hubertus knives are all handmade and are some of the finest quality knives still in production today. This is an excellent Hunting knife by Huburtus. The knife has a fixed single edged 4 ¼” long blade with integral finger guard and 1” bone cutting saw section near to the hilt. The blade is crisply etched on one side with manufacturer detail and ‘Rostfrei’ indicating stainless / stain resistant steel (illustrated). The blade is clean. The knife’s hilt has excellent Stag antler scales secured by brass pins. The hilt contains folding blades / tools which consist of a 2 ¾” curved blade with purpose made blunted end for skinning or de-jointing, a corkscrew and a 3 ¼” saw blade with bottle opener notch and screwdriver tip. The fold out blades are marked ‘Rostfrei’. The knife comes with its original green leather scabbard which has a retaining strap with press stud fastener & removable frog with belt loop and retaining strap with press stud fastener. *Near Mint* WWI Era Imperial German Fighting / Trench Knife by Gottleib Hammesfahr Solingen Foche & Scabbard with Integral Belt Loop. Sn 5119. - Sn 5119 An original German WW1 Fighting / Trench Knife and scabbard with integral frog (see page 44 of ‘German Combat Knives 1914-1945’ by Christian Mery where a Gottlieb knife & scabbard the same as ours is illustrated). The knife has a 6” unmarked blade with medial ridge and has an overall length of 11”. The blade is crisply marked "Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen Foche " on one side, the reverse has a small Imperial Crown Inspection mark. The grips are wooden with typical nine diagonally carved grooves. The undamaged grips are secured with two brass rivets. It is complete with its original metal scabbard. The throat has a leather belt loop riveted to it. The belt loop has a single retaining strap with press stud fastener. The leather of the belt loop is in excellent condition and is intact and secure. WW1 German Deer's Foot Trench Dagger Marked 'Acier Superieur Garanti' & Scabbard. ED 2212 - ED 2212 This is an original German WW1 Trench Dagger. It has a deer's foot handle with brass ferrule and wave steel crossguard. It has a clean 5 ¼ " blade with medial ridge (10" overall). The hilt is fitted with original felt washer. The blade is crisply marked by the manufacturer 'Acier Superieur Garanti' between 2 Anchors. German WW1 Fighting/Trench Knife And Scabbard. ED 881. - ED 881 This is an original German WW1 fighting/trench knife with a wooden grip and a 6 1/8 inch blade sharpened for its length on one edge. The other has a short false edge. The crossguard and ferrule are made of steel. The knife is contained in its original steel scabbard which retained some of its original black paint and the remains of its belt loop. SUPERB, WW2 Era, German Folding Bowie Knife With Rostfrei (Early Stainless Steel) Blade By Anton Wingen Jr, Solingen With Stag Antler Grips, German Silver fittings & Leather Scabbard. Sn 14415 - 14415 This is an excellent folding Bowie Knife 10 ¼” overall folded in its original leather sheath. The knife's 7 ½” Bowie blade is clean and undamaged. The blade is crisply marked on one side with the manufacturer’s name ‘Anton Wingen Jr, Solingen Germany’ together ‘Rostfrei’, denoting that the blade is made from an early form of stainless steel (illustrated). It has attractive Antler grips which are in great condition. It has a swivelling German Silver cross guard and German Silver hinged release catch at the hilt. When fully extended the knife measures 12” overall. The knife is complete with original open top brown leather scabbard which has an integral single leather belt loop stitched to the rear of the throat and retaining strap with press stud fastener. WW1 & Inter War Era German DEMAG Trench Fighting Knife & Scabbard. ED 20188 - 20188 An original WW1 & inter war German Fighting / Trench Knife & Scabbard (similar form German trench knives are illustrated in Chapter 4 of Stephens’ book ‘Fighting Knives’, we cannot find an exact match). The knife has a single edge 143mm steel blade & an overall length of 250mm. The blade is undamaged and has just light staining consistent with age. The ricasso is maker marked DEMAG which is Deutsche Maschinefabrik A-G of Duisburg above DRGM (German Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster patent mark). The undamaged smooth wooden scales are secured with steel rivets. It has a blued oval cross guard. The scabbard is metal, has no dents and has period green paint. The scabbard has a frog bar. Imperial German Boar Hunting Dagger/ Sidearm With Stag Horn Grip By Schmidt Marburg With Engraved German Silver Pommel Cap H.Schenck, Schweinsburg s/m Leibb & Scabbard. Sn 10063. - 10063 This is an excellent C 1900 Imperial German Hunting Dagger/ Sidearm. These substantial weapons were carried when hunting large game such as Boar for self-defence and to deliver the 'death blow' to the hunted prey. It has a lovely curved Stag Horn handle with stepped German Silver end cap which is beautifully engraved 'H.Schenck, Schweinsburg s/m Leibb' (Schweinsburg is a mountain located in Baden-Wurttenberg Germany). It's 11" single edged blade with Bowie type swept top edge is excellent. It measures 16" overall. It has a swept cross guard * slight play* with German Silver ferrule. The blade is crisply marked with manufacturer detail 'Schmidt In Marburg'. The weapon is complete with brown leather scabbard with brass mounts. The upper mount has an acorn shaped locket stud. The leather & stitching of the scabbard are intact and has just light scuffing to be expected with age and use. ED 268 - ED 268 A private purchase German WWI trench knife (a trench knife is a combat knife designed to kill or incapacitate an enemy at close quarters, such as in a trench or other confined area. It was developed as a close combat weapon for soldiers attacking enemy trenches during the First World War) with a stunning horn grip and ‘S’ shaped quillon above ferrule and below pommel which appear to be German silver, as do the scabbard mounts on the leather scabbard. **BEST QUALITY** Carl Eickhorn German Hunting Dagger With Superb Hunting Scenes Etched Blade, Stag Antler Grip, Ornate Solid Silver Fittings & Scabbard. ED 2660 - ED 2660 This is an excellent Carl Eickhorn Hunting dagger. These substantial weapons were not only symbols of rank but were also carried when hunting large game such as Boar for self defence and to deliver the 'death blow' to the hunted prey. This best quality example has a solid Stag antler handle mounted on one side with a row of solid silver acorns. It has a silver clamshell on one side cast with a game bird sitting on a branch of a tree, Deer’s legs re-curving silver cross guard and silver oak leaf pommel cap with acorn top. All of the fittings are heavy. The fittings have crisp, deep cast decoration. Its 10" single edged blade has beautiful country hunting scenes on both sides and the back of the blade has oak leaf decoration. The blade is marked by the manufacturer ‘Eickhorn Solingen’ together with Squirrel trade mark. The sidearm measures 16 ½” overall length and is complete with its original black leather scabbard with solid silver mounts. The upper mount has a silver acorn shaped locket stud and the chape is decorated with the representation of a ‘Stag in the field’. The leather & stitching of the scabbard are clean & intact.
