Scandinavian Sami Knife and Leather Sheath. ED 2563. - ED 2563 / 18407
This is a very nice ‘Sami’ knife which means big knife in Finnish. This example has a 6” blade with a fuller on one side and marked Holger Andreasen A.S. to the other. There is a brass ferrule and a wooden handle which is usually birch for better grip in snowy conditions. The scabbard is typically Scandinavian made of leather with an integral belt loop. WW1 Imperial German Officer’s Carl Eickhorn Solingen Trench Dagger / Fighting Knife Design Based On WW1 Dress Bayonet & Scabbard. Sn 18388 - 18388
This is a an original WW1 German Officer’s trench dagger / fighting knife. This form of trench dagger were based on dress bayonets issued during WW1 (see page 50 of German Combat Knives 1914-1945 By Mery). This dagger is 11” overall with a 6” steel blade with medial ridge. The blade is crisply marked by the maker ‘C.E’ (Carl Eickhorn Solingen) together with ‘back to back’ Squirrels trademark. It has the correct Eagle's head pommel with correct false bayonet button which pushes in but is correctly non-functioning & forms the Eagles eye. The chequered wood scales are secured with two rivets. It has an up-swept quillon cross guard. The dagger has its original blackened metal scabbard which has an integral riveted leather belt loop and retaining strap with press stud fastener. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 18388

WW2 Wood Hilt Fairbairn- Sykes, FS Far East Commando Fighting Knife & Correct Scabbard. Sn 18266 - 18266
An original WW2, FS Far East Operations dagger and correct scabbard in very good condition (see Page 137 of The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife & Other Commando Knives By Flook). The hilt is natural wood with grooved grip and an oval brass cross guard (these daggers were made with both steel and brass cross guards, see item 9.33 page 137 of Flook’s book for an example with brass cross guard). One side of the wood has a fine old stable crack near to the cross guard only visible on close inspection. The crack is stable and the hilt and blade secure with no movement. The pommel has the correct screw bolt. It has a 171mm steel dagger blade with medial ridge. The blade has areas of light staining consistent with age. The dagger has its original correct leather scabbard with belt loop and retaining strap with stud fastener. The riveted and stitched scabbard is in the same very good condition, clean with all leather and stitching intact. The leather is impressed ‘Made In Sheffield England’. **MINT**WW2 Era Nazi German Luftwaffen- Kampfmesser Pilot’s & Paratrooper’s Fallschirmjager Boot Knife With Luftwaffe Acceptance Mark & Scabbard. Sn 18277:11 - 18277:11
An original, near mint condition, WW2 German Luftwaffe Luftwaffen- Kampfmesser Boot Knife & Scabbard. These knives were carried in the boots of Luftwaffe pilots and Air crew and were favoured by Nazi Fallschirmjager Paratroopers (see page 78 of German Combat knives 1914-1945 By Mery). The knife has an undamaged, 6 ¾” polished steel blade which has just light areas of staining consistent with age and has the correct, crisp, Luftwaffe stylised Eagle acceptance mark. The overall length is 11 ¼”. The undamaged grips are smooth contoured wood and secured to the tang by three rivets. Its original scabbard is metal with original black paint. U.S. Post War Ka-Bar Fighting Knife & Scabbard - ED 2550
This is a nice Ka-Bar knife as used in Korea and Vietnam. The knife is marked to the Ricasso with U.S. over CAMILLUS. This is the second pattern knife which was re-designed by Camillus and instead of the blade having a threaded nut in the pommel, this version has the later oblong tang with a steel pin to hold it. The grips are the standard compressed leather washers. The leather scabbard has all of its stitching intact. This is a nice Korea/Vietnam American fighting knife. The price includes U.K. delivery. 2nd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes 'FS' Fighting Knives were introduced in 1941. This is an original WW2 Officer’s 2nd pattern, FS dagger and scabbard. Examples of Nickel plated FS daggers are illustrated in Chapter 7 of ‘The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife & Other Commando Knives’ by Flook. The dagger has the correct nickel plated brass knurled handle & oval cross guard. The knife is ‘sterile’ with no manufacturer or Unit marks. The knife has been re-finished post war & the blade engraved ‘In Commemoration Of The Victory Of El-Alamien (Alamein Incorrectly Spelt). The blade is 166 mm long with medial ridge. An original Austro Hungarian WW1 Fighting/Trench Knife & Scabbard. The knife has a single edge 8 ¼” steel blade with an overall length of 13 ¼”. The blade is undamaged and has just light staining consistent with age. The ricasso has the 'R' mark of the manufacturer Resicka Vienna. The smooth wooden scales are secured with steel pins. The oval cross guard has small inspection marks (illustrated). The scabbard is metal, has even patina and no dents. The rear of the throat has 2 fixed strap bars fitted with small webbing belt loop. John Mappin, the youngest of the prestigious Victorian Mappin Brothers Cutlers started his own business Mappin & Company, opening the first Mappin store in 1860 at 77-78 Oxford Street, London. In 1864 John Mappin was joined in the new venture by his brother in law George Webb forming Mappin, Webb. ‘Mappin & Webb Ltd ‘ was first recorded in 1889, and at this stage the business was focused on manufacturing based in Sheffield. The relationship with the British Monarchy began in the late 19th Century and was formalised when Her Majesty Queen Victoria first granted a royal warrant to Mappin & Webb as silversmiths, in 1897, the year of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee. Mappin & Webb has held a royal warrant as silversmiths to each of the five subsequent sovereigns and today holds a Royal Warrant as Silversmiths to Her Majesty The Queen and to HRH The Prince of Wales. This is a WW1 era Horseman’s Multi Bladed clasp Knife by Mappin & Webb, most likely a British officer’s private purchase piece. The date William Morton launched his knife making business is unknown but he is listed as a spring knife maker in Darnall in 1868. William Morton & Sons Sheffield were first listed in directories in 1876 at the old Rockingham Works 175 Rockingham Street, Sheffield as makers of pocket knives and sports knives (see page 231 of the Sheffield Knife Book by Tweedale). This is a WW1 era Horseman’s Multi Bladed clasp Knife by Morton & Sons, most likely a British officer’s private purchase piece. The knife’s fold out tools and blades consist of a horseshoe cleaning hook, corkscrew, fullered spike & 3 single edged blades one with thumb spur. The blades are marked by the manufacturer ‘Morton & Sons Sheffield’. The body of the knife has 2 original removable reign screw bolts with nuts. The elbow of the hook has a screwdriver edge which allows it to be used as a screwdriver when the hook is closed against the frame. The knife has undamaged German silver scales and shackle. **RARE** 1st Type WW2 Era British Special Operations Executive (SOE ) 'Escape Tool' Folding Pocket Knife / Tool By Joseph Rodgers & Sons Sheffield. Sn 17945 - 17945
Described as very desirable and much sought after on page 48 of British & Commonwealth Military Knives By Flook and illustrated on the same page at plate 98, these 1st type rare escape knives were issued to members of the British SOE during WW2. This is an excellent original example. The knife of all steel construction features an integral wire cutter the arm of which is held to the body of the knife by a hinged 'hoop bar'. It measures 6 ¼” overall when closed and has 2 single edged folding blades. One measures 3" and is crisply marked by the manufacturer 'Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers To His Majesty Sheffield England' together with Maltese cross & star trademark. The markings are illustrated in image 2. Later examples of this rare knife had the maker's details omitted for covert use. The second blade measures 2" and has a thumb lug spur to assist one handed opening. The knife also has three saw edge blades and a screwdriver head integral to the frame. The knife is fitted with a steel shackle and has even patina throughout consistent with age and service use. The price for this rare SOE knife includes UK delivery. Sn 17945
