A collection of four reference books on cartridges and ballistics. The first book; 'Completely Revised 4th Edition Cartridges of the World' by Frank C Barnes, edited by Ken Warner dated 1980 is an excellent reference book, it is an encyclopaedic reference and covers all phases of cartridge history, development, use, loading and comparative rating. It is fully illustrated and consists of 384 pages. It measures 11" x 8 1/4". It is a large paperback book and is in good condition. The second book; 'Military Small Arms Ammunition of the World 1945-1980' by P. Labbett printed in 1980. This book is a hard back book and covers an international guide to the correct identification of ammunition by calibre, type and origin, all in one compact volume. It is illustrated throughout with life size cartridge profiles, cartridge head stamps and packaging labels. The book consists of 126 pages and measures 10" x 7 1/2". The third; 'The identification of Firearms and Forensic Ballistics' by Major Sir Gerald Burrard, this is a signed copy dated 1967. It is a hard back book which covers the fundamental firearms and ballistics questions that are of forensic importance. It is illustrated throughout, it consists of 217 pages and measures 9 1/2" x 6 1/2". It is complete with the loose leaf cover and is in good condition. The last book; 'Cartridge Manual, an Illustrated Digest' pamphlet by W. Bartlett & D. Gallatin, this is a reprint pamphlet dated 1956 and lists every cartridge patent issue in U.S., England and France Prior to 1878. It is packed with illustrations and measures 9 3/4" x 6 3/4".
