This is a first edition copy (1993) of a scarce book by Jerry L. Janzen who authored 'Bayonets From Janzen's Notebook' book (1987) and was a well respected collector of bayonets with a collection of over 1,000 bayonets before his death. This work is a comprehensive look at the Remington Series of rifles with all known bayonets detailed by type and countries that used them. It shows all the known bayonets in colour and then black and white illustrations in the text relating to variations, scabbards, markings Etc. It also has pictures of the bayonets in wear and drawings of fine detail. The text is comprehensive with tables, production figures, contemporary adverts etc. This book is a must for any collector especially those with an interest in Remington. A very nice clean copy of ‘Bayonets From Janzen’s Notebook’ . This book which is long out of print and with the author now deceased is becoming harder to find. This copy is a fifth printing from 1997 (the first being 1987) with ammendments and additions. Jerry Janzen was a well known American collector of bayonets with over 1000 bayonets in his collection. This book is a compilation of his collection using Paul Kiesling’s drawings together with additions from Cole, Carter, Walter, Priest and others. It is a monumental work and a must for any bayonet collector. The drawings are highly detailed and show parts not normally displayed in photographs.
