1978 British Royal Factory Ishapore India Arsenal (RFI) No.5 Jungle Carbine Bayonet & Scabbard With Webbing Frog. BAYO 437 - BAYO 437
This is a very good British No.5 Jungle Carbine Bayonet and Scabbard. These bayonets were used during WW2 and post war. The bayonet with fullered, 8" Bowie style blued blade (12" overall) has muzzle ring, cross guard and pommel with lug button that has a good strong spring action. It has slab wood grips secured by screw bolts. The blade is manufacturer marked ‘RFI’ (Royal Factory Ishapore India Arsenal) at the ricasso together with ‘78’ (1978 date). The bayonet is complete with its steel scabbard which is undamaged and has original black finish. The scabbard is fitted with an original webbing frog which is clean and undamaged. British No 7 MK 1 L , Bayonet For No 4 SMLE Rifles & MK V Sten Sub Machine Guns With Swivel Handle, Scabbard & Webbing Frog. Sn 16129:3 - 16129:3
An original No 7 MK 1 L, bayonet with swivelling pommel made for the No 4 Rifle and MK V Sten Sub Machine Guns. The 'L' designation is for Land Service. It was only issued to the Guards and a few other selected units. It has a 7 3/4” blade (12 ¼” overall) with bowie knife style blade and deep fuller to both sides. The blade and brown Tufnell grip are in great undamaged condition as is it's steel scabbard. The blade is stamped on the ricasso 'No 7 MK1/L' . There are no visible manufacturer marks. British Volunteer Bayonet With Sawback Removed. BAYO 254 - BAYO 254
This is a scarce bayonet which started life as a Volunteer sawback bayonet based on the pattern 1875 sword bayonet but has a heavier crossguard and a larger muzzle ring diameter. The bayonet was made by the Solingen trade for use by various colonial governments. The blade is marked with the trademark of Alex Coppel and has had the sawback removed. These bayonets were not necessarily intended for the Martini Henry rifle which explains the different muzzle ring diameter of many of these volunteer patterns. The muzzle ring diameter is 20.2mm . British Wilkinson Sword 1943 Royal Navy Contract Lanchester S.M.G. Bayonet And Scabbard. BAYO 334 - BAYO 334
This is a scarce Lanchester S.M.G. (Sub Machine Gun) bayonet manufactured by Wilkinson during W.W.2 and it is recognisable from a standard 1907 pattern bayonet by the Wilkinson wartime code S294 together with W.S.C. (Wilkinson Sword Company) and 4 43 (April 1943, date of manufacture). The scabbard is the standard No1 mk II with a tear drop frog stud. See Skennerton, pates 230 – 231, item B281. British 1876 Pattern Martini Henry Rifle Socket Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 323 - BAYO 323
This is a pattern 1876 Martini Henry rifle socket bayonet with good markings on the blade. It blade is stamped is stamped with the Broad Arrow over WD , an Enfield inspection mark, 850 crossed out, FWA 7 / 85 (July 1885 the original date of manufacture) struck out and over stamped 11 / 94 (November 1895 date). This bayonet has seen some service. The bayonet measures 25 inches overall with a blade length of 21.7 inches with a socket 3 inches in length. The brass mounted leather scabbard has a broad arrow over W.D. and an Enfield inspection stamp on the top locket. The scabbard also carries Nepalese script suggesting later issue to an Indian unit. Un-available UN-AVAILABLE British Pattern 1887 Early MK I Sword bayonet & Scabbard. BAYO 306 - BAYO 306
This is an early MK I Pattern 1887 sword bayonet newly made by Enfield in 1887 and not a converted 1886 Pattern. The blade has a fuller on each side and carries a Crown over "V.R." and the date "87" (1887). The other side of the blade carries the broad arrow over WD and an inspection stamp. The top edge of the blade also carries 2 inspection stamps. The grips are the first pattern knurled leather type, held by 4 steel rivets. The pommel carries N.E.P. over 8627 which is an unknown regimental marking. The scabbard is the standard steel mounted black leather type and the mouth of the scabbard carries the stamping FA800 and 265. See Skennerton's Bayonet Book, Pages 160 to 163 item B205. WW1 1910 Dated British 1907 Bayonet By Enfield and Regimentally Stamped To Oxfordshire Light Infantry & Scabbard Converted For Drill Purposes. Bayo 303 - Bayo 303
This is a converted 1907 bayonet which has had the tip rounded off for drill purposes. It is stamped on the ricasso with a Crown over "E.R." followed by "1907 11 10 (Manufactured November 1910) and "E.F.D." (Enfield). The other side is stamped with a War Department Broad Arrow and several inspection stamps. The pommel is stamped with "OX" over "321" denoting regimental use by the Oxfordshire Light Infantry. The scabbard is the standard No 1 MK II with tear drop frog stud. (See Skennerton's Item B236 pages 188-189). The price includes delivery. Bayo 303

This is a nice Pre 1803 India Pattern socket bayonet. It is stamped on the blade with "S. Dawes" and as such pre dates 1803 when the firm became "W & S Dawes" (1803-1813). The blade is also stamped with a Star and the number "2". The socket is stamped with the number "228". The blade measures 17", 21.75" overall. The socket itself is 4.1" with the muzzle ring diameter being 25mm. The brown leather scabbard is missing the top chape but otherwise is in very good condition. British 1842 Pattern Socket Bayonet. Bayo 268 - Bayo 268
This is an 1842 pattern socket bayonet with 'Lovell's Lug'. It has an overall length of 21" with a blade length of 17" and a muzzle ring diameter of 24m. It features the new line rounded shoulders with Lovell's lug and a groove cut in the rim for sighting. The blade is stamped with a Crown over "B" over "8" over "E X" over "X" over "T S". The bayonet is un-common but is pitted overall, hence the price. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 268

British Land Pattern Socket Bayonet. Sn 12917 - 12917
This is similar to the example in Skennerton's, item B49. It has a slightly longer slot than the usual Land Pattern and could fit some sea service models with a foresight closer to the muzzle. However the blade is only 16" long, which Skennerton suggests could denote Indian Service. (see Skennerton's, page 40, Items B49 & B50). This is a socket bayonet worthy of further research.
