British No7 Mk1L Bayonet, Scabbard And Frog. BAYO 511 - BAYO 511
This is a British No7 Mk1L bayonet with brown tufnol grips. The No7 bayonet was only approve for land service hence the suffix L to the bayonet designation No7 Mk1l. This is stamped crisply on the blade ricasso. These bayonets were mainly issued to the Guards and occasional use with the Mk5 Sten gun. The bayonet has a swivelling pommel which allowed it to be fixed to the No4 rifle and the Sten sub machine gun. The blade is the standard bowie shape as used on the No5 jungle carbine and successive marks including the No9 and L1A1 series. The scabbard is the standard No5 Mk2 with a brass mouthpiece and the frog is an unmarked pattern 37 webbing version. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 511

India Pattern No1 MK1++ Bayonet, Scabbard and Frog. BAYO 508 - BAYO 508
This is an India pattern bayonet converted from a 1907 pattern bayonet. The original markings are still legible (crown ofer G.R. 1907 and 4 18 (April 1918 date) and SANDERSON). These bayonets were converted by India from full length to the shortened version in the 1950s. This example has Mk1++ stamped over the crowned G.R, on one side and F.R.56 on the other side of the blade. This denotes a factory repair in 1956. The blade has a false edge with the fuller running to the tip and has ben re-blued. The grips have an Indian inspection on one side. The bayonet is contained in its shortened Mk1 scabbard and the frog is a standard pattern 37 webbing version. See Skennerton item 152 on page 348 for an identical bayonet. This is a very nice condition India pattern for the serious collector. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 508

WW2 Nazi German Occupation Manufacture Czech CSZ Brno VZ 24 Bayonet, Scabbard & Frog. BAYO 505 - BAYO 505
This is a WW2 Czech VZ24 rifle bayonet and scabbard made under the German occupation in WW2. The bayonet carries the German military factory code of tgf designating manufacture by the Tscheckische Gewehr Fabrik (Czech rifle weapons factory). The Germans continued the manufacture of both the VZ23 and VZ24 bayonets through WW2 but not in the same large numbers as the Mauser K98 bayonet. This bayonet has a 12” blued blade with fullers marked CSZ (Èeskoslovenská zbrojovka a.s., Brno), together with V & H, steel muzzle ring and pommel. The wooden grips are held on by 2 screw bolts. The scabbard is made of blued steel. VZ24 bayonets made under German occupation seldom appear. Our example has post war marks including ‘crossed swords 50’ next to the Nazi manufacturer code indicating post post war refurbishment, most likely for Israel (see Martin J. Brayley, An Illustrated History of Bayonets, Pages 52 – 54). The scabbard is fitted with original leather frog. All leather & stitching of the frog are intact. The rear of the frog has an indistinct impressed mark. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 505. (German Box 1)

Yugoslavia M1924 Bayonet And Scabbard. BAYO 271 - BAYO 271
This is a nice 1924 pattern bayonet made to fit the Belgian FN24 an FN30 and the Czech VZ24 rifles which the Yugoslav army was using at that time. The Kragujenac Arsenal also made the FN24 rifle and bayonet under licence. This is a Yugoslav made bayonet as it has the distinctive grip bolt head used by the Yugoslavians which requires a special bifurcated tool to remove them. The blade is heavily blued as is the pommel. The crossguard carries the number 4329 and an indistinct mark. The scabbard is all steel and the frog stud carries the number 36100. See An Illustrated History of Bayonets by Martin J. Brayley, page 252. This is an uncommon bayonet in very good condition. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 271

British Trials Z2E1 Bayonet With Shortened Blade, Scabbard And Frog. BAYO 265 - BAYO 265
This is one of the Z2E1 trials bayonets that has had the blade reground making it 10mm shorter than the normal length. Skennerton shows one as item B 318 and states that although there are some claims that these were a shorter version, it is more likely that some suffered damage to the points and at a later stage were reground to make them saleable on the commercial market. All other features remain the same as the standard bayonet. This bayonet carries the X2E1 designation stamped underneath the tang along with a serial number 7290. The catch on the pommel is the larger version and the steel scabbard is correctly marked to the mouthpiece with X1E1. See Skennerton item B318 on Pages 256 and 257. The price for this bayonet includes UK delivery. BAYO 265

SCARCE, Portuguese Model 1885 Guedes (Kropatschek) Bayonet & Scabbard. Sn 17201:2 - 17201:2
This is a Model 1885 Guedes bayonet, often referred to as the Kropatschek bayonet & is based on the Austrian M1873 bayonet. These bayonets are not common in the collector's market. These bayonets were originally intended for the Guedes-Castro rifle but when Portugal decided to adopt the 8mm Kropatschek bolt action rifle, the bayonet was used instead of the new rifle (see Brayley 'An Illustrated History Of Bayonets' pages 182 & 183). The fullered blade is 18 ½” length and measures 23 ½” overall. The blade has just staining consistent with age. There is a small inspection mark on the blade and ‘GG291’ on the cross guard which has the correct muzzle ring. Its slab wood grips are secure and have just bumps and bruises to be expected. The steel pommel has the correct bayonet release button which functions correctly. The steel scabbard has a frog bar & ball end. Sn 17201:2
