This is a nice Pre 1803 India Pattern socket bayonet. It is stamped on the blade with "S. Dawes" and as such pre dates 1803 when the firm became "W & S Dawes" (1803-1813). The blade is also stamped with a Star and the number "2". The socket is stamped with the number "228". The blade measures 17", 21.75" overall. The socket itself is 4.1" with the muzzle ring diameter being 25mm. The brown leather scabbard is missing the top chape but otherwise is in very good condition. Italian BM59 Bayonet, Scabbard and Integral Webbing Frog. Bayo 274 - Bayo 274
This is a nice Italian bayonet which resembles an M4 but in fact fits the Beretta BM59 rifle. This was the Italian conversion of the M1 to the 7.62mm NATO FAL system. It carries a new crossguard with a 22mm muzzle ring but is not interchangeable with the similar M7 bayonet. The bayonet also fits the Beretta AR70 5.56 rifle. It has brown ringed plastic grips secured by 2 screw bolts. The pommel is the standard M4 pincer type. The bayonet is unmarked. The scabbard is the standard American green pattern with an integral frog but again completely unmarked. (See White & Watts No 452, page 191 & 201). The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 274

Danish M5 Bayonet, Scabbard and Webbing Intergral Frog. Bayo 273 - Bayo 273
This is a scarce Danish bayonet issued in 1962. It is identical to the U.S. M5 but is contained in a wood grained scabbard. It was issued in small quantities as the Haerens Tekniske Korps Model 1962. The pommel is stamped with a Crown over 'HTK M62' which signifies the Army Technical Corps Model 1962. The grips are black plastic and secured with two screw bolts. The bayonet has a thumb release tab which is located near to the crossguard, it operates smoothly. The scabbard is wood grained and the top mount carries a crown over HTK The webbing integral frog is a more elaborate version of the American type. This bayonet fits the M1 Garand rifle which Denmark had been using since 1950. The bayonets were made in Germany under licence. Not a common bayonet on the collectors market. Scarce German S98/05 uas Bayonet By Anker-Werke Bielefeld & Scabbard. Bayo 269 - Bayo 269
This is a scarce S98/05 bayonet by Anker-Werke Bielefeld. Anthony Carter in his 'German Bayonets' book states that the models 98/02 and 98/05 bayonets by this firm are scarce and are thought to have only been made in 1917. They only carry the 2 line trademark of Anker-Werke Bielefeld with no dates, cyphers or other firm markings. There is however a number "493" stamped on the crossguard. The bayonet is in an all steel scabbard. (See German Bayonets book by Carter Page 27-30 and Page 64-65. A scarce bayonet. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 269

British 1842 Pattern Socket Bayonet. Bayo 268 - Bayo 268
This is an 1842 pattern socket bayonet with 'Lovell's Lug'. It has an overall length of 21" with a blade length of 17" and a muzzle ring diameter of 24m. It features the new line rounded shoulders with Lovell's lug and a groove cut in the rim for sighting. The blade is stamped with a Crown over "B" over "8" over "E X" over "X" over "T S". The bayonet is un-common but is pitted overall, hence the price. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 268

This is a nice pattern 1876 socket bayonet. It is stamped with the Broad Arrow over "WD" and an inspection mark on the blade. Below this is the bayonets number "452". The blade is bright and the socket is blued. The bayonet measures 25.1" overall with a blade length of 21.7" and the socket 3", the muzzle ring diameter is 18.3mm. The scabbard is the MK II version with 2 rivets for the internal spring. The locket carries a Broad Arrow over "WD" and an inspection stamp. (see Skennerton's item B187, Pages 145-147). French M1956 Bayonet, Scabbard and Leather Frog. Bayo 255 - Bayo 255
This is an early M1956 bayonet for the 49/56 MAS Rifle. It has the first pattern blade with the longer false edge and is contained in the first pattern scabbard of steel with leather frog. The crossguard is stamped with an "E" followed by "HF" The blade is parkerised and the grips are black plastic. It has an unusual double muzzle ring arrangement which was necessitated by the integral grenade launcher on the rifle. These bayonets are getting harder to find on the collectors market. 1960’s South African No.9 Bayonet By Armscor Subsiduaries For No.4 SMLE Rifles & Scabbard. BAYO 254 - Bayo 254
This is a bayonet unique to South Africa. The socket is virtually identical to the British No.9 bayonet but with a blade from the UZI SMG. According to Skennerton these bayonets were made to fit No.4 rifle, were made in the early 60's by Armscor. They were intended for us by South African Local Defence Force Commandos (see page 370 item 6 of Skennerton’s book British & Commonwealth Bayonets). They were issued in both reinforced fibreglass scabbards and as in the case of our example steel scabbards from UZI bayonets. The bayonet has an excellent clean blackened 6 ¾” single edged blade and pommel with ribbed release button. The scabbard with frog stud has original black paint and no dents. This is a current Uzi Sub Machine Gun bayonet of all steel construction. There are 2 versions, the one with steel grips and a metal scabbard and another with plastic grips and scabbard. Scarce Swiss M1878 Vetterli Bayonet and Scabbard. Sn 13168 - 13168
This is a scarce M1878 bayonet for the Vetterli rifle and is believed to have taken certain aspects of design from the British Elcho bayonet. In this respect it has black chequered grips, a spatulate type crossguard and a saw backed blade. Unlike the Elcho bayonet the blade is fullered on one side only. There are two models of this bayonet, the M1878 and the M1881. The M1878 has grips secured by four rivets and the crossguard is 6mm thick whereas the M1881 has three rivets securing the grips and the crossguard is 7mm thick. The blade on this bayonet is marked with the makers name of "Gebr. Weyersberg Solingen" and the crossguard carries a number "150703". The other side of the blade numbers "79" and "137", both with a line through them. It is contained in its steel mounted black leather scabbard with a loop for a frog strap. This is a scarce bayonet in very good condition. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 13168
