WW2 1945, 1907 Pattern, Australian, Lithgow, Bayonet & No.1 MK 2 Scabbard Marked Mangrovite & Dated 1944. Sn 11510 - 11510 An excellent Australian, WW2 dated example of the Pattern 1907 bayonet for the SMLE rifle complete with WW2 Dated Scabbard. The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped by the manufacturer 'MA' (Lithgow) '1907' (Pattern) and '6 45' (June 1945). The reverse is stamped with inspection marks and 'OA' (Orange Factory). The blade is clean and its wood grips are undamaged and perfectly secure. It is complete original steel mounted brown leather No.1 MK II Scabbard with rear seam. All stitching and Leather of the scabbard are intact. The leather is stamped 'Mangrovite 44' (Mangrovite Belting Ltd, Australia, 1944). Un-Available 10/09 Nazi M98 Dress Bayonet By E. Pack & Sohne & Scabbard. Sn 11523:1 - 11523:1 An early Nazi M98 dress bayonet and scabbard. The dress sidearm for military and civilian uniformed formations was designated the M98 Dress Bayonet. This bayonet represented a stylised form of the S. 84/98 bayonet purchased by the individual for wear with the walkout dress uniform and was worn by the mainly non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. This early dress bayonet has a rifle mortise and push button release. It retains the red felt in the mortise slot. This is the long version with a 93/4" blade which carries the makers logo of E. Pack & Sohne. It has "E. Pack & Sohne Solingen" etched on the ricasso. The polished steel blade is in excellent condition. The grips are chequered and secured with two screw bolts. German Model 1898/05 G98 Mauser 'Butcher' Bayonet By Joint Makers Henckels & Anker-Werke Bielefeld, Complete with Steel Scabbard. Bayo 61 - Bayo 61 A 1917 German Model 1898/05 G98 Mauser 'Butcher' bayonet. This is a very nice condition original Imperial German Pattern 1898/05 'butcher' bayonet and scabbard for the Gew. 98 Mauser Rifle. This is the later model with a trimmed muzzle ring and fitted with a flash guard. It has the scarce makers mark of Anker-Werke Bielefeld on one side of the ricasso and the twins of J.A. Henckel's on the other. According to Anthony Carter in his book, 'German Bayonets' the models 98/02 and 98/05, the two makers worked in conjunction with each other and that Henckel's sent blades to Anker-Werke to be finished. This bayonet also has the crown over "W17" on the back edge of the blade. This is referred to by Carter in his book as being the only example with a date and both trademarks. The blade is clean and the grips are the original 9 grooves and show normal use marks. The steel scabbard is also original and in good order with just a couple of very minor dents as to be expected. WW2 Era Czech Army M1924 Bayonet For Mauser Type Rifles & Scabbard With Leather Frog. Sn 10478 - 10478 These bayonets were adopted by Czech Armed forces ion 1924 to fit a Mauser type rifle.. Many of the bayonets were captured by the Germans in 1939 and re issued to German forces. The bayonet has a blued 11 ¾” blade with fuller and reversed cutting edge. The hilt is also blued and all retain their original finish. The blade is marked with the Czech ‘CSZ & E’ mark together with ‘Lion in roundel’ and ‘24’ mark. The scabbard is also blued and the frog stud has ‘E3 48’ together with Czech Lion mark. It is also stamped with letters ‘tgf’ which most likely denotes German ownership. The scabbard is fitted with original brown leather frog. The frog has a single belt loop and all leather and stitching are intact. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10478. 1960’s South African No.9 Bayonet By Armscor Subsiduaries For No.4 SMLE Rifles & Scabbard. BAYO 50 - BAYO 50 These bayonets produced in the 1960’s by Armscor Subsiduaries have a socket identical to the British No.9 Bayonet bayonet but with a blade from the UZI SMG bayonet. According to Skennerton these bayonets were made to fit No.4 rifles carried by South African Local Defence Force Commandos (see page 370 item 6 of Skennerton’s book British & Commonwealth Bayonets). They were issued in both reinforced fibreglass scabbards and as in the case of our example steel scabbards from UZI bayonets. The bayonet has an excellent clean blackened 6 ¾” single edged blade and pommel with ribbed release button. The scabbard with frog stud has original black paint and no dents. French Model 1866 Chassepot Sword Bayonet With Brass Grip & Steel Scabbard. Bayo 49 - Bayo 49 This is a nice example of the French model 18466 Chassepot sword bayonet (See 'Bayonets From Janzen's Notebook' Page 69 item 1). This model was manufactured by several countries and this one has the 'Kings Head' trade mark Weyersberg on the blades ricasso. The U.S,A, also utilised this bayonet for the Remington Rolling Block rifle and this one could be one of the German export models. The steel single edged blade with fuller is undamaged with just light staining consistent with age. The blade is 22 1/2" long (27 1/4") overall. It has the correct steel hooked quillon with muzzle ring. It has a ribbed brass grip with flat spring and steel push button. It is complete with the correct scabbard made of sheet steel. Indian Pattern No 1 MK II* Bayonet with unfullered blade, complete with Original Long Scabbard. Bayo 47 - Bayo 47 An Indian Pattern No 1 MK II bayonet with unfullered blade and complete with the original long scabbard. This conforms to the No 1 MK II* style configuration but is marked on the blade as MK I*. This carries the date "1 43" denoting manufacture in January 1943 and the initials "JU" which is the unidentified factory listed in Skennerton's. As Skennerton states there were many anomalies during this period and there are many variations. The bayonet has an unfullered 12" long blade which is polished. It has slab grips secured by two screw bolts. The pommel has a push button release and clearance hole. The crossguard is straight. The ricasso is stamped on one side with inspection marks on one side and on the other with "MK I* 1 42 JU". The scabbard is the long scabbard and is leather with metal chape and locket. The scabbard has a large oval frog button and three rivets above. (see Skennerton's Page 347 to 351, item 154). This is a scarce bayonet and for collectors of the India Pattern bayonets, a desirable item. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 47 £225.00 |

WW1 Imperial German Model 1888/98 Ersatz Bayonet And Scabbard. BAYO 39 - Bayo 39 An original, excellent, example of a WW1 German Ersatz M88/98 bayonet with solid steel hilt. It has a half hoop, one piece stepped muzzle ring. (see page 143 & 153, No. 338 of The Bayonet Book by Watts & White). It has a 12 1/4" fullered blade which has just light staining consistent with age and is complete with it's original steel scabbard. The throat of the scabbard has a fixed locket and oval frog stud. Belgian M1916 Sword bayonet & Scabbard For The M1889 Mauser Rifle. Sn 10880:65 - 10880:65 A Belgian M1916 bayonet and scabbard for the M1889 Mauser Rifle. This has a blackened, shortened blade which was originally a 17 1/2" flat cruciform blade, shortened to just over 13". It has matching numbers "970" stamped on the cross guard edge and the frog stud on the scabbard. The number on the cross guard is "970.8.". One of the grips has what looks to be burn damage. WW1 German M88/98 All Steel Construction Ersatz Bayonet & Steel Scabbard. BAYO 17 - BAYO 17 A WW1 German M88/98 Ersatz bayonet and steel scabbard (see item 338, page 153 of The Bayonet Book By White & Watts). The all steel construction bayonet has a polished steel single edged blade with sharpened back edge point & central fuller. The blade measures 12” in length. It has a steel one piece cross guard with open muzzle ring. The back of the blade has a small inspection mark. The steel pressed steel grip has an oil hole near to the cross guard. It has a push button bayonet release which works correctly. The grip retains some original green paint. It is complete with its steel scabbard which has a tear drop frog stud.
