*1908 American M1905 Bayonet and Leather Covered Scabbard. BAYO 712. - BAYO 712 A very scarce American M1905 Bayonet made by ‘Springfield Arsenal’ in ‘1908’ and marked to the blade with ‘S.A.’ over a flaming grenade and ‘1908’. The other side carries a ‘U.S.’ over ‘324154’. The grips are ribbed wood held by a single screw bolt. The bayonet has a press button at the cross guard which releases the locking catch on the rifle and also holds the bayonet firmly in the scabbard. The scabbard is the early pattern of heavy leather sewn over a wooden frame with brass rivets and this has a double hook arrangement used on all subsequent American bayonets. The brown leather carries a stamped ‘R.I.A. 1907 Feb’ to the rear (Rock Island Arsenal). This is in very good condition. A real collector’s piece. The price includes U.K. delivery. *A British 1888 Pattern MkI ‘2ND Type’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 697. - BAYO 697 This is a nice British 1888 pattern Mk1, 2nd type bayonet made at ‘Enfield’ and marked to the ricasso with crown over V.R. and 1 ’91 (January 1891) The other side carries a broad arrow over W.D. and an inspection stamp. There are also two inspection stamps on the spine. The grips are wooden with an oil hole. Behind the top brass rivet and the pommel carries the number ‘16’. The bayonet is contained in its MkII scabbard with internal chape but sadly missing the frog. See Skennerton item B213 page 169. **FALKLANDS WAR BRING BACK**Argentine Army Marked Type C Socket Bayonet For FN FAL Rifles, Scabbard & Tempex Frog. BAYO 707. - BAYO 707 These socket bayonets were used by Argentine forces in the Falklands War (See Page 22 of An Illustrated History Of Bayonets by Brayley where an Argentine Type C socket bayonet captured during the Falklands war with plastic scabbard & Tempex Frog the same as ours are illustrated). This Argentine Type C bayonet is most likely a bring back from the Falklands war. The all steel construction bayonet is in excellent condition. The tubular socket has the correct release catch ‘ears’ and has the correct cut outs to align with the vents in the rifle flash eliminator. The bayonet has a 6 ¾” long blade and measures 11 ½” overall. The blade has number ’01-79200’. The ‘01’ prefix denotes Army issue (02=Marines & 03=Air Force). There are no other manufacturer marks on the bayonet. The scabbard is the correct black plastic version. The scabbard has a frog locket. The scabbard is fitted with correct webbing frog which has 2 retaining straps with press stud fasteners marked ‘Tempex’ and steel wire belt bar. WW2 Japanese Jinsen Arsenal (Occupied Korea) Type 30 ARISAKA Rifle Bayonet & Correct Wood Scabbard With Steel Fittings. Sn 18435:1 - 18435:1 These bayonets were made late WW2 at the Jinsen arsenal in Occupied Korea. (see item LB-162 page 197 of Bayonets Of Japan by Labar where an example the same as ours with straight grips and rectangular pommel is illustrated and is described as scarce). It has the correct plain single edged blade and was manufactured without cross guard quillon. It has the correct straight wood grips secured by rivets and steel rectangular pommel with steel bayonet button that works as it should. The blade is 382mm length and has the correct late war, larger, Jinsen arsenal mark. The original late war wood scabbard has 2 bands of correct, original cord binding and retains its original drab olive paint finish. The scabbard has the correct small steel chape and throat mount with fixed strap bar. The wood has knocks bumps and bruises to be expected. There are no visible serial numbers on the bayonet or scabbard. The price includes UK delivery. 18435:1. (Arisaka Box 2) £575.00 |

American M1917 Bayonet By Remington and Scabbard. Bayo 702 - BAYO 702 This is a good condition M1917 bayonet made by Remington. It is nicely stamped on the ricasso with "Remington". The other side is stamped with the 'Flaming Grenade' over "US" and the eagles head inspection mark. Blade length 17”. Total length including scabbard 22 ½”. The wooden grips have two grooves cut into them and there is an oil hole in the pommel. This example has the scarcer false edge and the scabbard is the Australian mangrovite version dated ‘42’ to the rear below the top mount. This would suggest Indian use rather than homeguard. French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet AND Scabbard. BAYO 699. - BAYO 699 This is a nice M1866 Chassepot bayonet made at St. Etienne in June 1874 and marked thus to the spine of the blade. Blade length 22 ¾”. Total length including scabbard 28”. It has a curved Yataghan blade and a brass ribbed grip with a steel leaf spring and push button. The crossguard is also steel ending in a quillon and is stamped with FG60868. The scabbard is black painted steel and has L87415 stamped to the rear of the throat. British L3A1 Bayonet, Scabbard and Two Frogs For the SA80 Rifle. BAYO 687. - BAYO 687 This is an excellent L3A1 bayonet which was introduced in 1985 to fit the new L85A1 service rifle. It was an innovative design incorporating many new features. The scabbard is made of Phonolite plastic and is contained in its green canvas sheath dated 1991. Also included is a white ceremonial plastic sheath. A nice complete set of the current British bayonet. See Skennerton item B329, PAGES 266 & 267. Also Martin J. Austrian M1895 Mannlicher Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 686. - BAYO 686 This is a nice other ranks M1895 Mannlicher bayonet. The blade is marked OE over WE (Oterreich Iche Waffen Fabrik Gesellschaft Steyr) and the double headed eagle denoting use by the Imperial forces and not for export. The blade is 9 ¾” in length and has rounded fullers. The cross guard is secured by 2 rivets, the grips are wood secured by domed rivets and the pommel is steel. The end of the pommel carries regimental markings of 94R 2682. The scabbard is steel with a brazed frog stud. See Martin J.Brayley An illustrated history of bayonets centre example on page 31. French Lebel M1886 First Pattern Bayonet, Scabbard & Scarce Frog BAYO 685 - BAYO 685 This is a nice 1st pattern Lebel bayonet with a white metal hilt, downswept quillon and a round button catch. This is an early model with the hilt fixed permanently to the tang, whereas later models had removable hilts with a screw nut fixing to the end of the hilt. The blade is the usual Lebel cruciform shape and the scabbard is black tubular steel with no dents or damage.length 20 ½ “. Total length including the scabbard 25 ¾”. The frog is the standard French leather version and these are becoming quite scarce. This is a lovely complete example of a 1st pattern iconic Lebel bayonet. Austrian Bayonet And Scabbard. - BAYO 684 This appears to be a dress bayonet similar to item 46 on page 22 of the bayonet book by White & Watts. However, it has regimental markings on the cross guard for the 33rd Infantry Regiment with the number 5920 below the other side of the cross guard is marked with 1270 OE. The blade is marked with OE over WG being the mark for the Osterreichiche Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft Steyr Factory. The other side has the double headed eagle denoting use by the Imperial army. The grips are wood held by two screw bolts and the scabbard is steel. An unusual bayonet for the collector of Austro-Hungarian bayonets. £225. BAYO 684. £225.00 |
