**MINT BORE**C1880 French Eugene Lefaucheux Paris 9mm Pinfire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Military Revolver With Ornate Tooled Foliate Decoration & Folding Trigger. Sn 17456 - 17456
This is an excellent 6 shot, pin fire French military revolver. It has a 4” round steel barrel (8 ¾” overall). The pistol’s bore is near mint bright and clean with crisp rifling. The top of the barrel is crisply signed with E. Lefaucheux Paris Bte manufacturer detail (illustrated). It has a triangular post fore sight and the rear sight consists of a grooved hammer. The pistol’s walnut grip has just light bumps and bruises to be expected. The frame & cylinder have ornate, deep cut tooled foliate decoration. The frame is numbered 8873 and has the Lefaucheux ‘LF’ inspection mark together with his pistol trademark. It has its original captive steel ejector rod. The pistol is side gate loading, has a folding trigger which has a partially visible number ‘116?’and is fully functioning in both single & double action. The butt is fitted with military lanyard ring. MINT BORE, American Civil War Era .30 Calibre Williamsons 1864 Patent 6 Shot Teat Fire Revolver. Sn 17040 - 17040
Manufactured from 1864 to 1870 these 6 shot American front loading teat-fire revolvers were one of the most successful competitors to Smith & Wesson and it is believed that their popularity was one of the reasons for Colt's purchase of the National Arms Co in 1870. The underside of the 3 ¼” barrel is numbered "13444''. The barrel’s bore is near mint, clean with crisp rifling. "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT” is marked on the cylinder together with faint indistinct “JANUARY 5, 1864". The 'Gold Washed' frame and butt strap are nicely scroll engraved. It has its original smooth dark rosewood grip. The cocking & firing action work as they should. The price includes UK delivery. This is an excellent, 7mm calibre, 6 shot, pin fire pocket revolver. It has a 2 ¾” barrel (6 ¾” overall). It has undamaged, finely chequered gutta percha hard rubber grips. The pistol is decorated with an attractive foliate and geometric tooled design. The folding trigger, cylinder and frame and barrel block have matching numbers ‘16’. The fluted cylinder has an ‘ELG’ Liege mark and the frame has other small inspection marks. It has its original captive ejector rod and is side gate loading. It has a post fore sight. MAGNIFICENT, Cased Victorian Era Belgian Liege Large Frame Double Action 12 Shot 9mm, Military Pinfire, Revolver With Accessories. Sn 16210 - 16210
This is an excellent, Belgian 9mm, military, pinfire, 12 Shot Revolver. It is side gate loading with a 6” barrel, sturdy undamaged large frame and undamaged Walnut grips. The frame has a small ‘crown above s’ Liege inspection mark. The barrel’s rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use The frame and fluted cylinder have crisp foliate engraving. The pistol is double action and cocks and dry fires perfectly in both single & double action. It has a blade fore sight and the side gate operates crisply. It is complete with its original military lanyard ring and captive steel clearing rod. The pistol is contained in its original Oak case with hinged lid. We have never seen one of these 12 shot pin fire pistols with case. The case is ornately inlaid with mother of pearl. The lid of the case has some old stable cracks which are secure. The case has a brass lock with key. The case is lined with maroon felt and has compartments which contain accessories including a brass cleaning rod with screw on attachment and ebony handle, a small empty glass oil jar with lid which has an integral applicator & and an ebony handled steel tool. The inside of the padded lid has wording highlighted in gold ‘Verney Jne A Lyon’ most likely a French retailer. The price for this cased pistol with original accessories includes UK delivery. Hopkins & Allen Arms Company was a U.S. firearms manufacturing company based in Norwich, Connecticut that was founded in 1868 by Charles W. Allen, Charles A. Converse, Horace Briggs, Samuel S. Hopkins and Charles W. Hopkins. The Hopkins brothers ran the day-to-day operations of the company until it went bankrupt in 1916 and was subsequently bought by Marlin-Rockwell. Known as the ‘XL’ range of pistols, these derringers & revolvers were one of many revolvers based on S&W and Colt Patents produced in the 1860’s through to the late 1870s with dynamic or quirky names to attract sales. This is an original .41 Cal Rim Fire ‘XL’ derringer of the type made by Hopkins and Allen similar in design to Colt’s patent derringers. Our ‘XL’ derringer has a nickel plated steel frame with a sheathed trigger. Most of its original nickel plating is present. Its 2 ½” steel barrel pivots for loading which is achieved by depression of a steel button under the frame when the pistol is at half cock. The barrel pivots as it should and is tight. Its rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. The top of the barrel is signed ‘XL Derringer’ and one of the barrel flats is marked ‘Pat Apr 5 1870’. It has its original American Rosewood grips which are in very good condition and secured with a single recessed brass screw bolt. Its loading and firing actions work perfectly. There are no other external visible numbers or manufacturer’s marks on this piece. Victorian Era Nickel Plated Continental 7mm Pinfire 6 Shot Revolver With Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 13721 - 13721
This is an excellent 7mm calibre, 6 shot, pin fire pocket revolver. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel (7 ½” overall). It has attractive embossed and chequered gutta percha grips which are undamaged. The frame, barrel, grip strap and cylinder are decorated with an attractive engraved foliate design. It has its original captive ejector rod and blade fore sight. The pistol retains its original nickel plated finish which has just small areas of scuffing consistent with age and use. The frame, cylinder and underside of the barrel have crisp Continental ‘double crown over letter U’ inspection marks. It is side gate loading, has a folding trigger and is fully functioning with a crisp action. C1830 English, W. Bond London, 40 Bore Brass Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel & Concealed Trigger. Sn 13560 - 13560
A large family of English Gunsmith’s named Bond had premises at various London addresses including at 108 Leadenhall Street, 45 Cornhill and at 'The Golden Blunderbuss' 59 Lombard Street, between 1762 & 1879. The Bond's made and supplied firearms to The British East India Company. A member of that family William Thomas Bond is recorded as working as a Gunsmith on his own at the family addresses in 1836. A William Bond is also recorded as working as working with Edward Bond at 45 Cornhill 1826-1855 and Northumberland Alley London 1871-1879 (see page 143 of British Gunmakers Vol 1 by Brown). This is a nice brass flintlock pocket pistol by W. Bond made C1830. The pistol is 6” overall with a 1 ½” screw off smoothbore brass barrel which is .486” at the muzzle opening (approx. 40 Bore). On the left side it is engraved 'W. Bond London'. The right ‘London’. It has a sliding safety, folding concealed trigger and the hammer is fitted with flint. The action works as it should with a strong spring. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. Its walnut bag shaped grip has fine chequering and is inlaid with a void silver roundel. The price includes UK delivery. The top of the barrel is faintly marked "MOORE'S PAT. FIRE ARMS CO. BROOKLYN N.Y." and the underside with number "15868''. "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5, 1864" is marked around the rear edge of the cylinder. The 'Gold Washed' frame and butt strap are nicely scroll engraved with a punch dot background. It has a case hardened hammer and smooth dark rosewood grips. The cocking & firing action work as they should. Price includes UK delivery.
