Victorian Era Nickel Plated Continental 7mm Pinfire 6 Shot Revolver With Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 13721 - 13721
This is an excellent 7mm calibre, 6 shot, pin fire pocket revolver. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel (7 ½” overall). It has attractive embossed and chequered gutta percha grips which are undamaged. The frame, barrel, grip strap and cylinder are decorated with an attractive engraved foliate design. It has its original captive ejector rod and blade fore sight. The pistol retains its original nickel plated finish which has just small areas of scuffing consistent with age and use. The frame, cylinder and underside of the barrel have crisp Continental ‘double crown over letter U’ inspection marks. It is side gate loading, has a folding trigger and is fully functioning with a crisp action. C1830 English, W. Bond London, 40 Bore Brass Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel & Concealed Trigger. Sn 13560 - 13560
A large family of English Gunsmith’s named Bond had premises at various London addresses including at 108 Leadenhall Street, 45 Cornhill and at 'The Golden Blunderbuss' 59 Lombard Street, between 1762 & 1879. The Bond's made and supplied firearms to The British East India Company. A member of that family William Thomas Bond is recorded as working as a Gunsmith on his own at the family addresses in 1836. A William Bond is also recorded as working as working with Edward Bond at 45 Cornhill 1826-1855 and Northumberland Alley London 1871-1879 (see page 143 of British Gunmakers Vol 1 by Brown). This is a nice brass flintlock pocket pistol by W. Bond made C1830. The pistol is 6” overall with a 1 ½” screw off smoothbore brass barrel which is .486” at the muzzle opening (approx. 40 Bore). On the left side it is engraved 'W. Bond London'. The right ‘London’. It has a sliding safety, folding concealed trigger and the hammer is fitted with flint. The action works as it should with a strong spring. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. Its walnut bag shaped grip has fine chequering and is inlaid with a void silver roundel. The price includes UK delivery. C1820 English, Steel Framed .38” Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel By Hayward & Goodwin London. Sn 11484 - 11484
This is a nice steel framed flintlock pocket pistol. The pistol is 7"overall with a 2 ½” screw off barrel. On the left side of the action it is engraved ' Hayward & Goodwin '. The right side ‘London’. It has a sliding safety & folding concealed trigger. The action works as it should with a strong spring. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. The bag shaped Walnut slab grip is undamaged. The price includes UK delivery.
