C1820 Liege Belgium Turkish Contract .700 Calibre British Naval Pattern Flintlock Sea Service Pistol With Brass Fittings. Sn 18440 - 18440 During the 18th Century the British Royal Navy began standardising their Naval small arms. One such weapon was the Sea Service flintlock pistol. These weapons were used by the British Royal Navy throughout the Wars with neighbouring France 1750- 1815. Due to heavy production demands for Sea service pistols during the Napoleonic Wars the British Admiralty turned to their Belgian allies to produce Sea Service pattern pistols to supplement dwindling British made supplies. Liege pistols, although not the fine quality of the British version, were robust, heavy and well made resulting in other nations Governments also contracting Liege pistols for their armed forces. This Liege made Sea service pistol was made for the Turkish Government. It is is in very good as found, un-messed with condition. It measures 15 ½” overall with a 9” steel barrel. The metal work ‘in the white’ has even patina. The smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age & use. The barrel has what looks like a small Liege inspection mark (illustrated). The walnut full stock has regulation brass furniture and fixed steel lanyard ring. The wood has just bumps and bruises to be expected. The lock plate is plain steel ‘in the white’ and has Turkish inspection marks (illustrated). The heavy military hammer is fitted with flint. The cocking and firing actions work crisply and create a good spark. The price includes UK delivery. 1843-1846 Pair Of Scottish Form 54 Bore Brass & Steel Construction Percussion Pistols With Irish Registration Marks ‘KE-256’(County Kerry) Octagonal Barrels & Captive Steel Ram Rods. Sn 18241 - 18241 The Irish Registration Act was passed in 1843 and lasted only a short while, until August 1846. All firearms owned in Ireland during that period had to be Registered and marked with the relevant County code. This is a very good pair of Scottish form, all metal construction percussion pistols made C1845. The matching pistols have steel hammers, trigger guards, octagonal barrels and captive steel ram rods. The hammer, trigger guard and barrels have foliate engraved decoration. The pale brass actions with spurred grip and flat butts have ornate engraved foliate decoration. The actions and barrels of each pistol have black powder proofs and each barrel has Irish registration mark ‘KE-256’ (County Kerry). There are no visible manufacturer marks on either pistol. Both measure 8 ¾” overall & have 3 ½” octagonal steel barrels. The smooth bores of each barrel are clean. The pistols have bead fore sights and ‘v’ notch block rear sights. C1865 Liege Proofed Chamelot & Delvigne 7mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Silver Inlay Ornate Decoration, Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 17901 - 17901 A Liege proofed 6 shot 7mm double action pin fire revolver number 13878 made C1865. It has an octagonal 3” barrel. The barrel is marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The breech and cylinder are inlaid and overlaid with silver tendrils and leaves, the latter also engraved with medallions, the frame and stepped butt cap are profusely engraved with vine leaves, tendrils and scrolls. It has antique Ivory grips. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. It has a folding trigger & blade fore sight. The pistol has the typical Chamelot & Delvigne type side loading gate and has a captive sliding ejector rod. The pistol's firing mechanism works as it should in both single and double action. C1865 Liege Proofed Chamelot & Delvigne 9mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Silver Inlay Ornate Decoration, Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 17905 - 17905 A Liege proofed 6 shot 9mm double action pinfire revolver number 1764 made C1865. It has an octagonal 4 ¼” barrel. The barrel is marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The barrel has simple silver line inlay, the cylinder and frame are engraved with chequered panels inlaid with silver borders and pique studs. It has a knurled capstan bolt securing the barrel & antique Ivory grips. The butt has lanyard ring. The barrel’s bore has just light staining consistent with age & crisp rifling. Laport & Irmaos” (Rio de Janeiro), 7mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Gold Game Dogs & Game Birds In Flight Decoration, Folding Trigger & Antique Ivory Grips. Sn 17908 - 17908 A Belgian 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux type double action side gate loading, pin fire revolver made C1865. It retains its original blue finish. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel. The top barrel flat is gold inlaid in gothic script “Uba. Laport & Irmaos” (Rio de Janeiro), Liege ‘ELG*’ proved cylinder. The cylinder and frame are inlaid with gold lines, game dogs and flying game birds. It has a captive ejector rod, folding trigger, and plain antique ivory grips. **UNUSUAL LOADING MECHANISM & EJECTOR ROD**C1855-1866 A.PLIERS BREVETE Liege Proofed 6 Shot 12mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre Single Action Military Revolver Retailed by BIJON S MONTE-VIDEO. Sn 18077:1 - 18077:1 Adrien Pliers was a Liege gunmaker who received at least 6 different firearms patents between 1855 and 1866. This is a Belgian Liege 6 shot 12mm single action pin fire revolver with unusual loading mechanism & captive ejector rod by Adrien Pliers. The unusual ejector rod is clipped beneath the barrel, which hinges outwards and then slides in the conventional manner. The loading system is also most unusual, consisting of a revolving disc behind the cylinder with a single aperture which when at half cock is aligned with a chamber allows the cartridge to be inserted, (we have not seen this type of mechanism before). The revolver has a 6 ¼”, 2 stage barrel and measures 12” overall. The barrel has a triangular post fore sight and the rear sight consists of a notch in the hammer. Its rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The metal work in the white has panels of engraved foliate decoration on the action frame. The breech is stamped “A.PLIERS BREVETE” & engraved “BIJON S MONTE-VIDEO”, The walnut grips are undamaged. The butt has military lanyard ring. The weapon’s cocking and firing actions work correctly in single action. The price for this unusual revolver worthy of further research includes UK delivery. C1865 Liege Belgium Lefaucheux Patent 7mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Ornate Tooled Decoration, Folding Trigger & Antique Ivory Grips. Sn 17902 - 17902 A Belgian 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux double action pinfire revolver made C1865, number 228357. It has a round barrel with octagonal breech 70mm (2¾”), the breech is marked “E. LEFAUCHEUX IN BREVETE”, Liege ‘ELG*’ proved cylinder. The breech, cylinder and frame engraved with scrolls, strapwork and dogs’ heads in medallions. It has a captive ejector rod, folding trigger, and plain antique ivory grips. The pistol’s bore has light staining consistent with age & crisp rifling. C1810 English Edward Wilson Liverpool 32 Bore Nipple & Drum Percussion Converted From Flintlock Holster Pistol With Octagonal Barrel. Sn 17713 - 17713 C1810 Edward Wilson is recorded working as a gunsmith at 64 Thomas Street Liverpool (see page 370 of British Gunmakers Vol. 2 by Brown). This is a Wilson Liverpool Percussion holster Pistol, made with flintlock C1810 and later nipple & drum converted to percussion. It is 14” overall length with an 8 ½” octagonal barrel which has a small blade fore sight. The top barrel flat is signed ‘Liverpool’. The smooth bore has staining consistent with age and use. The action tang & trigger guard with Pineapple finial have tooled foliate decoration. The full stock is made from English Walnut which has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age. The stock has an inlaid void German silver escutcheon. It has its original wood ram rod with polished horn end cap. The is signed by the maker ‘Wilson’ (there were many English gun makers named Wilson in the flintlock and percussion era, but we can only find Edward Wilson working in Liverpool in that period). C1865 Liege Belgium “E. LEFAUCHEUX INVR. BREVETE”, Burnished Steel Framed 9mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Ornate Tooled Foliate Decoration & Antique Ivory Grips. Sn 17879 - 17879 An attractive 6 shot 9mm Lefaucheux double action pin fire revolver, made C1865 . It has a 2 stage 6” barrel. The breech is engraved with scrolls in panels and hunting dogs with game birds scenes. It is also stamped “E. LEFAUCHEUX INVR. BREVETE” & with Liege proofs. The frame numbered 256970. It has a captive ejector rod on the right, bag shaped antique ivory grips, and lanyard ring. The grips have fine, old stable cracks but are totally secure. The pistol’s rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. It has fluted cylinder, pinched triangular block fore sight and notched hammer rear sight.
