Late 1700’s / Early 1800’s British P. Frith Patent Hunter’s Brass Leather Bandolier Mounted Shot Carrier For Shotgunners . Sn 15537 - 15537 This is a good British Frith Patent Brass Leather Bandolier Mounted Shot Carrier For Flintlock / Percussion Shotgunners made sometime in the late 1700’s / early 1800s. The brass shot carrier is 4 ¾” overall length. It has a removable cylindrical shot shovel released by depression of a flat steel catch on its cap. The body of the shot carrier is marked ‘P.Frith Patent’. The carrier has its original purpose made leather bandolier with 2 ¼” wide padded leather shoulder strap which is 50” overall length. Large Victorian, Heavy Construction 20 Bore Large Game Percussion Sporting Gun For Ball. Sn 14311 - 14311 This is a large Victorian era percussion sporting gun for ball. It is 20 bore and has a 33" stepped round to octagonal brown barrel (49” overall). Its bore has just light staining to be expected with age and use. It has all original undamaged Walnut stock with chequered wrist & steel butt plate. The trigger guard has an extended tang with acanthus bud finial. The action and Dolphin hammer have engraved scrollwork decoration. The barrel has a small blade foresight and it has a ‘v’ notch block rear sight. The stock has a polished horn fore end block. The weapon has its original brass ram rod. There are no visible external manufacturer or proof marks on this weapon. The gun’s firing action works perfectly. Victorian Era Nickel Plated Continental 7mm Pinfire 6 Shot Revolver With Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 13721 - 13721 This is an excellent 7mm calibre, 6 shot, pin fire pocket revolver. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel (7 ½” overall). It has attractive embossed and chequered gutta percha grips which are undamaged. The frame, barrel, grip strap and cylinder are decorated with an attractive engraved foliate design. It has its original captive ejector rod and blade fore sight. The pistol retains its original nickel plated finish which has just small areas of scuffing consistent with age and use. The frame, cylinder and underside of the barrel have crisp Continental ‘double crown over letter U’ inspection marks. It is side gate loading, has a folding trigger and is fully functioning with a crisp action. C1830 English, W. Bond London, 40 Bore Brass Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel & Concealed Trigger. Sn 13560 - 13560 A large family of English Gunsmith’s named Bond had premises at various London addresses including at 108 Leadenhall Street, 45 Cornhill and at 'The Golden Blunderbuss' 59 Lombard Street, between 1762 & 1879. The Bond's made and supplied firearms to The British East India Company. A member of that family William Thomas Bond is recorded as working as a Gunsmith on his own at the family addresses in 1836. A William Bond is also recorded as working as working with Edward Bond at 45 Cornhill 1826-1855 and Northumberland Alley London 1871-1879 (see page 143 of British Gunmakers Vol 1 by Brown). This is a nice brass flintlock pocket pistol by W. Bond made C1830. The pistol is 6” overall with a 1 ½” screw off smoothbore brass barrel which is .486” at the muzzle opening (approx. 40 Bore). On the left side it is engraved 'W. Bond London'. The right ‘London’. It has a sliding safety, folding concealed trigger and the hammer is fitted with flint. The action works as it should with a strong spring. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. Its walnut bag shaped grip has fine chequering and is inlaid with a void silver roundel. The price includes UK delivery. Victorian British Hollis & Sons Gun Makers To Her Majesty’s War Department British Cavalry Officer’s Private Purchase .600” Calibre, Percussion Cavalry Carbine With Saddle Bar & Ring. Sn 13329 - 13329 Isaac Hollis and Sons were London based Victorian gun makers recorded as operating in 1861. Throughout the years, Hollis manufactured quality sporting firearms and rifles for the British Government. About 1915, Hollis merged to form the company of Hollis, Bentley and Playfair. They remained in business until 1935. This is a percussion Cavalry Carbine by Isaac Hollis & Sons, no doubt a Cavalry Officer’s private purchase weapon. It is in excellent condition. It has all original walnut stock and original finish to the metal work. It has a heavy military percussion hammer and the lock plate is crisply ‘I. Hollis & Sons’ together with trademark roundel with wording ‘Makers To Her Majesty’s War Department’. Its 21" barrel (37” overall) has a clean .600” calibre bore with crisp 3 groove rifling. The top of the barrel is stamped with inspection marks. It has a graduated ‘100,200, 300 yards’, block & 2 leaf rear sight and block & blade fore sight. It has an under barrel captive steel ramrod. The carbine also has brass fore end block, trigger guard & butt plate. It is complete with original steel saddle bar & ring. The stock is marked ‘I. Hollis & Sons Gunmakers’ (illustrated). QUALITY, C1860 Victorian English 15 Bore Double Barrel Muzzle Loading Percussion Hammer Shotgun. Sn 12661 - 12661 This is a quality made Victorian double barrel percussion shotgun. It has 30” brown wash steel barrels and measures 46” overall. The 15 Bore barrels set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib. The smooth bores are in superb clean condition. It has its original walnut stock which has just the bumps and bruises to be expected with age and use. Its steel butt plate tang, trigger guard with extended tang & hammers have light foliate engraved decoration. The fore stock has German silver mounts. The wrist is inlaid with void German silver escutcheon. The barrels have German Silver inserts at the breech. Both side plates have foliate decoration together with scenes of hunting dogs in the field. The shotgun is fitted with bead foresight and has its original wood ramrod with brass end caps. Surprisingly for a shotgun of this high quality there are no visible manufacturer’s names on this piece. The weapon cocks & dry fires as it should. Price includes UK delivery. NB. Mid 1800's .40 Calibre Break Action Needle Fire Rook Rifle By E.M Reilly & Co, London. A 547 - A 547 Edward Michael Reilly was an English Gunmaker who between 1861 & 1869 had premises at 315 & 502 New Oxford Street, London, operating as E.M Reilly & Co (see page 195 & 196 of English Gunmakers Vol.1 By Brown). This is a good quality .40 Calibre Needle Fire Rook Rifle By E.M Reilly & Co, London.. It has a 25 1/2" octagonal barrel and measures 42" overall. The barrel's bore is clean and has crisp rifling. The top of the barrel is engraved 'E.M. Reilly & Co 502 New Oxford Street, London'. Both sides of the action & trigger guard with extended tang are nicely engraved with a foliate design. The neck of the stock has chequered panels and it is fitted with a steel butt plate. The underside of the stock is inlaid with a small, oval, void, German Silver escutcheon. The stock is all original with just the bumps and bruises to be expected. The weapon has fixed blade fore sight and small flip up leaf rear sights. The weapon's break action is operated by a knurled plate lever which operates a threaded bolt which allows the barrel to be broken for loading. The weapon's needle fire action works perfectly.
