This is a good British Frith Patent Brass Leather Bandolier Mounted Shot Carrier For Flintlock / Percussion Shotgunners made sometime in the late 1700’s / early 1800s. The brass shot carrier is 4 ¾” overall length. It has a removable cylindrical shot shovel released by depression of a flat steel catch on its cap. The body of the shot carrier is marked ‘P.Frith Patent’. The carrier has its original purpose made leather bandolier with 2 ¼” wide padded leather shoulder strap which is 50” overall length. The bandolier has its original buckles and plaited string cord which secures the shovel cap to the belt to avoid loss in the field. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 15537

MASSIVE, 1823- 1851 William Burnett Southampton 9 Bore Percussion Muzzle Loading Wildfowling Bank Gun With Walnut Stock & Ramrod. Sn 15395 - 15395
William Burnett was an English Southampton based gunsmith between 1823 & 1851. This is a massive percussion wildfowling gun by Burnett. This size of gun (5’ 5” overall length) were lay on riverbanks and sand dunes to support the heavy weight of the gun when hunting wild fowl. It is 9 bore and has a 49” round, browned, steel barrel. Its bore has just staining consistent with age & use. The barrel has a small indistinct inspection / proof mark (illustrated).It has walnut stock with horn fore stock cap. The wood has just knocks bumps and bruises consistent with age. The top of the wrist is inlaid with void German silver escutcheon. The metal work has engraved foliate decoration. It has a steel butt plate. The action plate is signed ‘Burnett’ amongst foliate decoration. It has a heavy steel dolphin hammer. The barrel has a small brass post foresight. The piece is complete with its original wood ramrod with brass end cap and brass threaded tip. Its cocking & firing actions work perfectly. C1850, English Thomas Conway, Manchester Double Barrel Side By Side Muzzle Loading Percussion Combination Cape Rifle (.600 Calibre Rifled Barrel & 12 Bore Smoothbore Shotgun Barrel) With Walnut Stock & Ramrod. Sn 14949 - 14949
This is an excellent Double barrel percussion Cape rifle made C 1850. It has 30" browned steel barrels and measures 47 " overall. The barrels, set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib. The rifle barrel is .600 calibre and the bore is clean with well defined rifling. The shotgun barrel is smooth 12 bore. The bore is clean. It has its original walnut stock with chequered panels at the fore stock and wrist. It has a steel butt plate with extended tang and trigger guard with extended tang. The metal work has nice foliage engraving to the action plates, breach tang, Dolphin hammers, trigger guard and butt plate. The action plates are both signed by the manufacturer 'Conway' (most likely Thomas Conway an English Gunsmith with premises in Manchester at 179 Chapel Street, 3 Market Street & 43 Blackfriars Street, Deansgate between 1803-1852) . Both barrels have silver roundel inserts at the breech. It has double triggers and the weapon cocks & dry fires perfectly as it should. The shotgun is fitted with blade foresight & 3 leaf flip up rear sights each with silver sighting lines. The stock has 2 sling swivel lugs and it has its original brass tipped and capped wood ramrod. Wilhelm Von Kreyfelt was a Dutch gunmaker active around 1870 until 1900. Little is known about Von Kreyfelt other than he made or modified this Martini action sporting / target rifle which is in10.4 x 38R Swiss Veterli, an obsolete calibre. It has a rotating bolt feature which allows the use of both rim fire and centre fire rounds in that calibre. The right side of the action is signed ‘WILH. VON KREYFELT, ROTTERDAM’. It has a double scroll trigger guard/cocking lever, walnut half stock, the right side of the butt inset with an oval brass panel engraved "J.VAN SILLEVOLUT, ROTTERDAM", the left side with raised cheek piece. It has a curved steel butt plate, two sling swivels and brass ramrod. It has an 86cm octagonal blued steel barrel with bow type rear sight and block and blade fore sight. The left side of the barrel is numbered 852. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. The rifle measures 129cm overall length. Its loading and firing actions work as they should. Large Victorian, Heavy Construction 20 Bore Large Game Percussion Sporting Gun For Ball. Sn 14311 - 14311
This is a large Victorian era percussion sporting gun for ball. It is 20 bore and has a 33" stepped round to octagonal brown barrel (49” overall). Its bore has just light staining to be expected with age and use. It has all original undamaged Walnut stock with chequered wrist & steel butt plate. The trigger guard has an extended tang with acanthus bud finial. The action and Dolphin hammer have engraved scrollwork decoration. The barrel has a small blade foresight and it has a ‘v’ notch block rear sight. The stock has a polished horn fore end block. The weapon has its original brass ram rod. There are no visible external manufacturer or proof marks on this weapon. The gun’s firing action works perfectly. The price for this large Victorian piece includes UK delivery. Hopkins & Allen Arms Company was a U.S. firearms manufacturing company based in Norwich, Connecticut that was founded in 1868 by Charles W. Allen, Charles A. Converse, Horace Briggs, Samuel S. Hopkins and Charles W. Hopkins. The Hopkins brothers ran the day-to-day operations of the company until it went bankrupt in 1916 and was subsequently bought by Marlin-Rockwell. Known as the ‘XL’ range of pistols, these derringers & revolvers were one of many revolvers based on S&W and Colt Patents produced in the 1860’s through to the late 1870s with dynamic or quirky names to attract sales. This is an original .41 Cal Rim Fire ‘XL’ derringer of the type made by Hopkins and Allen similar in design to Colt’s patent derringers. Our ‘XL’ derringer has a nickel plated steel frame with a sheathed trigger. Most of its original nickel plating is present. Its 2 ½” steel barrel pivots for loading which is achieved by depression of a steel button under the frame when the pistol is at half cock. The barrel pivots as it should and is tight. Its rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. The top of the barrel is signed ‘XL Derringer’ and one of the barrel flats is marked ‘Pat Apr 5 1870’. It has its original American Rosewood grips which are in very good condition and secured with a single recessed brass screw bolt. Its loading and firing actions work perfectly. There are no other external visible numbers or manufacturer’s marks on this piece.
