1923 B.S.A. No. 1 Model (Aka 'L' Or Light/ Ladies Model) .177 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle. AI 685 - AI 685 This is a very good B.S.A. No. 1 Model . 177 calibre, Under Lever Air Rifle. Also known as the 'L' or Ladies/ Light model it measures 39 ½” overall with a 17" barrel. It has a lovely wood stock with unblemished fine chequered panels at the wrist. The underside of the shoulder stock is impressed ’14 ½’ (length and has other impressed inspection marks. The ribbed butt has a trap (cover absent). The metal work is undamaged with an even patina throughout and is crisply stamped with the correct 'L' prefix serial number on the trigger block ' L21896' which dates it to 1923 (see page 27 of the Collectors Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller) and the breech is marked ‘Load 1’. 1991-2001 B.S.A. Goldstar Under Lever .22 Calibre Spring Air Rifle With 10 Shot Removable Rotary Magazine & Removable Sound Moderator firing at an impressive 11.47 ft/lbs. AI 666. - AI 666 The BSA Goldstar series of air rifles were made between 1991 & 2001 (see page 94 of The Blue Book Of Airguns by Beeman & Allen). These rifles had a 10 round rotary magazine, released for loading by operation of a sliding catch on the left side of the breech. This is a good example of the Goldstar .22 Calibre. It has a hardwood stock with figured cheek piece which is showing signs of use, and BSA piled arms rubber recoil pad. It has its correct removable magazine, safety catch feature and 17" barrel. lt measures 42 ½” overall. The metal work retains 95% of its original blue finish. The top of the cylinder has sight rails. The left side of the barrel has serial number 'GS04457'. The top of the barrel is showing signs of use and has the BSA piled arms logo, name & calibre detail. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. The rifle has its original removable sound moderator which correctly screws into the muzzle. It's cocking and firing mechanism works with a strong spring action, and has been put through the chronograph at a powerful 11.47 ft/lbs. The price includes UK delivery. 1969-1971 B.S.A. Airsporter MK IV .22 Calibre, Under Lever Air Rifle With 'GI' Prefix Serial Number. AI 664. - AI 664 The BSA AirSporter was an underlever spring powered Air Rifle first produced in 1948, [1] by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and remained more or less unchanged until 1962 when the Mk2 was produced. The Mk1 had a one-piece barrel and receiver assembly with a leather piston washer, while all other marks had a screw-in barrel with most having a PTFE piston and breach seal, giving a "legal UK power" of 10 ft•lbf (14.2 J) of energy. Manufactured in .177 (4.5 mm) and .22 (5.5 mm) and marketed above the BSA Meteor and Mercury, it came in seven different marks plus another three for the "S" model, a special edition Stutzen style with a full-length stock and a "Centenary" model marking 100 years of BSA piled arms. An excellent condition MK IV B.S.A Airsporter .22 Calibre Air Rifle. It’s serial number is ‘GI 10177’ which dates it to between 1969 and 1971 (see page 52 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The metal work is all original, showing a few signs of use. The wooden stock has a full grain and the stock has a hand carved Golden Eagles head to the left hand side making it rare and very unique. It is under lever cocking and the top of the air cylinder has the correct 2 continuous grooves for telescopic sight which carries a scope. The top of the barrel has BSA Airsporter. BSA Cadet Major Air Rifle .177 Post War 1955-1957. AI 662. - AI 662 A nice BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) Cadet Major air rifle in .177. Dimensions, overall length:42”. Stock length: 684mm. Barrel length: 468mm. Weight:2.5kg. Earlier stocks on both models had a cross grain strengthener in the grip and the rear trigger guard screw held the action to the stock, sometime around 1948 this changed to a more traditional locking stock bolt. The Major comes with an adjustable rear sight. See ‘The Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’ pages 35-38 by Dennis.E.Hillier. This example is still retains its original blueing. The serial number is printed on the left hand side at the very rear of the cylinder : CC03430 which dates the gun between 1955 and 1957. The wooden stock is in excellent condition for its age, only showing some signs of use/wear. ‘The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd – Cadet Major .177 Air Rifle- Made in England’ with the BSA legend which is marked on top of the cylinder. *’Webley & Scott – Victor’ Air Rifle .22 AI 657. - AI 657 The ‘Victor’ was announced by ‘Webley’ in 1981 marketed to the ‘newcomer’ to the sport. It has a shorter Beech stock than the ‘Vulcan’ and features a rifled steel barrel and micro-adjustable rear sight and hooded foresight and plastic butt plate. Its overall length is 40 ¾ inches and the barrel is 17 ¼ inches and weighs just over 3kg. The centre of the air cylinder is stamped ‘Webley Victor’. The top of the breech block is inscribed ‘Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham England’. The serial number is ‘791274’. The bluing on the cylinder is near perfect, the barrel is showing signs of use. The stock is near perfect apart from a small nick to the top. See page 129 of ‘Webley Air Rifles 1925-2005’ by Christopher Thrale. A lovely air rifle for the collector. German Weihrauch Hull Cartridge Import HW99S (Sport Trigger) .22 Calibre Break Action Carbine Size Air Rifle With Simmons 4x323 Telescopic Sight. Sn 18957:14 - 18957:14 The Weihrauch name has been associated with solid build quality and reliability for many years. Ever since the HW80 transformed the hunting rifle market, Weihrauch’s range of solid, accurate springers have been a popular choice for airgunners. This is an excellent Weihrauch HW99S in .22 calibre. The ‘S’ designation refers to the fact that these rifles have an adjustable sports trigger. The carbine size rifle has a 15 ½” barrel and measures 41 ½” overall. It has superb woodwork and rubber shoulder recoil pad. The metal work retains its original blueing and the top of the Air cylinder is grooved for telescopic sight. The barrel block is marked with model and calibre detail (illustrated in image 2). It is serial number '1561043'. The rifle cocks loads and fires with a nice tight action. It has a shrouded fore sight and adjustable rear sight. Post 1975, Webley Osprey 'Super-Target' .177 Calibre, Side lever, Air Rifle With Anschutz Competition Target Sights. Sn 18957:13 - 18957:13 Webley Osprey Air Rifles were introduced in 1975 and manufactured by Webley & Scott at Frankley Industrial Park, Birmingham (see page 246 of Hiller's book The Collector's Guide To Air Rifles). The Osprey was produced in both standard format and as the Webley Osprey 'Super-Target' configured specifically for target and competition use. This is an excellent example of the Super-Target. It is 43 1/2" overall with a 19" barrel. It has a shrouded target fore sight, adjustable Anschutz competition target rear sight and is side lever loading. It has excellent metal throughout with all original finish and the wood work is excellent. The cylinder housing is stamped with .177 Calibre detail, poorly struck serial number which is either 2009 or 2309 supertarget designation and Webley address. The top of the cylinder is grooved for telescopic sight. Between the grooves is deeply stamped & highlighted 'Webley Osprey' (partially obscured by the rear target sight. **RARE**1937 B.S.A. Model No.4 'Club' .177 Calibre Underlever Air Rifle 'C' Prefix Serial Number. AI 646 - AI 646 This is a very good B.S.A. Model No.4 Aka 'Club' .177 Calibre Underlever Air Rifle. These rifles were a follow on from the 'Club Special' model and are rare as only approx. 3,000 were made in their production run between 1936-1939 (see page 30 of Hiller's book The Collector's Guide To Air Rifles). It has all original wood and metal work with ribbed butt and concealed trap. The underside of the stock is impressed ’14 ¼’ (inches stock length). The wrist of the wood stock has the correct chequered panels with raised 'BSA’ motifs. It measures 43 ½” overall with a 19” barrel. It has a pinched blade foresight and adjustable rear sight. It is marked ‘1’ (.177 calibre’ above the loading port. The weapon has the correct 'C' prefix serial number 'C 1281' which dates it to 1937. The rifle loads and fires as it should. 1938-1939 B.S.A 'Breakdown Pattern’ .177 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle With ‘B’ Prefix Serial Number. Sn 18697 - 18697 This is a good BSA Breakdown Pattern .177 Calibre Air Rifle. It has an 18 ½” clean rifled barrel and measures 41 ½” overall. It has an adjustable trigger, blade foresight and adjustable dial rear sight. In front of the rear sight is the BSA piled arms trademark. The metal work has original blue finish. The original wood stock has chequered BSA logo panels. One side of the stock wrist has a old, fine, stable and secure crack which can be seen in image 2. The stock has a grooved butt with trap. The underside of the stock is impressed ‘v32’. The left side of the trigger block bears the serial number 'B8091' which dates it’s manufacturer to 1938-39 (see page 30 of ‘The Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’ By Hiller).
