**RARE**1923 - 1925 British Frank Clarke Birmingham Patent 110999/17 Titan MK 7 Captive Push Rod / Plunger Cocking , Rotating Block, .177 Calibre Air Pistol. AI 912 - AI 912
The inventor and Gun maker Frank Clarke was based at 6 Whittall Street in the gun making district of Birmingham. He was responsible for several gun making designs in the 1900’s including the Titan air pistol series. The 1st variant Titan was issued in 1917 and into the 1920’s seven different versions all with slightly different shapes and loading mechanisms were created. Our Titan is the Mark 7 variant. On our example the hinged steel cocking rod / plunger seated in the grip of the pistol is pushed into the air cylinder until the pistol is cocked (to prevent damage caution should be taken not to insert the rod at an angle). The rear block the rotates to reveal the breech end of the barrel for loading. The block is the rotated back into place and the rod re-seated in the grip recess ready for firing. The pistol is undamaged with all original blue finish and is fully functioning. The front and rear sights are integral to the frame (not seated on the barrel as with other variants). The rotating block is numbered ‘27’. The frame has Titan Air Pistol model and patent detail (illustrated). The smoothbore barrel is 7” length and it measures 8 ½” overall. **VERY RARE**1925-1930 Webley Mark II Target Model .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Straight Grip. AI 800 - AI 800
This is an excellent,Webley Mark II Target Model .177 Calibre Air Pistol. These pistols were produced between 1925 & 1930 and are very rare to find (see page 41 of Bruce's book Webley Air Pistols). It has excellent undamaged metal work with original finish faded to a nice plum colour in areas and correct straight grip with undamaged black bakelite grips with 'WS' monogram roundels. The barrel's bore is clean with typical light rifling. The left side of the frame is stamped serial number '34407' and with the 'Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham & London' manufacturers detail together with 1925 Great Britain, Belgium, France, USA & Canada Patents. The right side is marked ' Webley Air Pistol Mark II (Target Model) Made In England' together with Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Spain Italy & Germany 1923 and 1924 Patents. The front of the air cylinder has matching number ‘407’. It has an adjustable rear sight & the barrel strap beneath the blade fore sight is stamped 'MK II .177'. **MINT**Boxed, Pre 1958, Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Empty Original Period Webley Pellet Packet & Original Webley Trade Label. AI 669 - AI 669
This is a near mint boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air pistol. It is undamaged with original finish and black plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4 Made In England' (In 1958 Webley relocated their factory from Birmingham 4 to Birmingham 21 Postal area. Weapons produced after 1958 were marked either Birmingham or Birmingham 21). The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial / batch number '875'. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires crisply with a strong spring action. The barrel's rifled bore is near mint clean and bright. The pistol is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham address. Original Webley Junior Series 2 instructions are adhered to the inside of the lid of the box. The surface of the box has areas of age related storage wear but is intact with no cuts or tears. The box contains an empty original period .177 calibre Webley lead pellets packet with printed Webley labelling and its original cardboard Webley trade label. **WORLD’S SMALLEST* 1927-1935, German, Venus Waffenfabrik Tell II .177 Calibre Break Action Tin Plate Air Pistol. Sn 22646 - 22646
Venus Waffenfabrik of Mehlis Germany produced the Tell II Air pistol between 1927 & 1935. It is made of tin plate and measured 5 ½” overall length. It was advertised as 'The World's smallest spring piston Air Pistol' (see pages 157 & 158 of The Collectors Guide To Air Pistols by Hiller). Its unique concentric design made it the Father of several full size Air Pistols. Before cocking the pistol, a lever is swung out from the rear of the grip to afford mechanical advantage while cocking is performed. The Pistols were only made in No 1 Bore/ .177 calibre. This Tell II .177 Air pistol is in very good condition, fully functioning with original blue finish which is faded to a nice plum colour in areas consistent with age and use. Its original flat chequered wood grips are intact and secured by a screw bolt. The top of the compression cylinder is correctly stamped by the manufacturer 'D.R.G.M Tell II D.R.P' including the Venus Waffenfabrik factory combined 'V & W ' trade mark. Boxed, Early 1970's Webley Premier 'E' Series .22 Calibre Air Pistol & Accessories. AI 615 - AI 615
The Webley Premier 'E' series was introduced in 1972. The 'E' Series designation was stamped on the frame near to or under the left grip together with serial number. Early examples had Brown Plastic Grips (see 119/120 of Webley Air Pistols by Bruce). This is an excellent example in .22 Calibre. It is undamaged but shows some sign of wear and has the early brown plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Premier Made In England'. The right side is stamped 'Webley & Scott ltd Birmingham'. The frame near the left grip is stamped with the correct large E (Series designation). The front of the cylinder is stamped with number ‘574’. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight, and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The pistol is contained in its original cardboard box which has some slight damage, with Webley labelling & imagery. 'Instructions for use' are adhered to the inside of the lid, and the original envelope containing several Webley pellets. Price includes UK delivery. *Rare* c1882 Model 2 Langenhan “Dolla” .177 Pop-Out Pistol AI 742. - AI 742
The story of Langenhan begins in 1842 Germany in the town of Mehlis, Thüringen with Valentin Friedrich Langenhan (10th June 1819 – 2nd March 1886). Valentin, who at this time was 23, along with his father, Johann Gottlieb Langenhan, 51, bought a shop in which they set up their gunsmith business. Together they produced and sold various gun parts such as flintlocks, hair-set locks, guards, caps, tools and knife blades. Johann (16th May 1791 – 15th January 1883) was a master gunmaker and personally trained his son Valentin in the art. It is said that Valentin preferred to use his second name Friedrich which is frequently seen in Langenhan company literature. Perhaps this was to differentiate himself from another Valentin Langenhan who operated an iron and steel works that was also located in Mehlis. Also known as the EG 2 it also has the fame of being an authentic Eisenwerke Gaggenau product that will be at least 130 years old. The first thing to look for an authentic EG 2 is the number of pins/screws above the trigger guard. The genuine EG No 2 has three of these whereas all other versions have just two. Another easy way to tell is to look at the right hand grip screw. In the EG the screw is set in a diamond shape. Both of these features of the EG2 are clearly shown in the 1895 Eisenwerke Gaggenau catalogue. The pistol retains the majority of its nickel. It cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. Very Scarce Cased Original Webley & Scott, Pre-war Webley Senior .22 in a Handmade Leather Case Containing all Original Accessories Part of the Keith Bayliss Collection. 22436. - 22436
Established in 1790 Webley & Scott is one of the oldest names in the gun industry with almost two centuries of production of some of the most famous firearms the world has ever seen - the Webley revolver, shotguns, Webley rifles and Air Weapons. The origins of Webley can be traced to a business founded by William Davis, a gun implement and bullet moulds manufacturer in Weaman Street, Birmingham. This is a Webley Senior air pistol made pre-WWII (see pages 77 & 79 of Webley Air Pistols by Bruce’). It is undamaged with brown vulcanite chequered grips correctly without Webley signature roundels. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Senior Made in England' together with 'oil' and arrow indicator pointing to the oil hole located on top of the cylinder. The right side is stamped 'Webley & Scott Ltd, Birmingham' and has the correct prewar patents. The frame has serial number ‘S13703’. The forward barrel block is stamped '.22S' calibre & the front of the cylinder stamped with matching number '703'. The prewar barrel is correctly without central knurled section which was introduced post WW2. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. The pistol cocks and fires crisply. Inside the handmade leather case with handmade lock is an original hard to come by oil tin, spare spring with Webley tin swing tag, barrel cleaner, Webley pellet tin and original colour pamphlet. The Webley Mark I Air Pistol was produced between 1935 and 1964 with refinements being made to the model throughout the production period. This is a nice ‘Post War’ Webley Mark I Air Pistol. The pistol is stamped on the end of the cylinder with batch number "321". It has black plastic grips with Webley roundels on the right hand one. It has "Oil" with a curved arrow on the left side of the cylinder together with " The Webley Mark 1 Made in England". On the left side just below the fore sight it is stamped ".177 MK I ". The cylinder is stamped on the right side "Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4" (Birmingham 4 was the Webley Pre 1958 address). It is also stamped "Webley Patents". It retains its original blue finish, only showing minor signs of wear. The grips are excellent * right hand side grip has a very small hairline crack to the base (see pages 67-73 of Webley Air Pistols by Gordon Bruce). Post War 1945- 1958, Webley Mark I, .177 Calibre Air Pistol. AI 760. - AI 760
The Webley mark 1 Air Pistol was produced between 1935 and 1964 with refinements being made to the model throughout the production period. This is a nice Post WW2 Webley Mark I Air Pistol. The pistol is stamped on the end of the cylinder with batch number "602". Diamond Knurl to the Mark I was introduced on 10th June 1939, but eventually altered to straight knurl on 13th JULY 1945. It has the correct Post WWII milled barrel section to assist grip for cocking and grips with Webley roundels. It has "Oil" with a curved arrow on the left side of the cylinder together with " The Webley Mark 1 Made in England". On the left side just below the fore sight it is stamped with ".177 MK1". The cylinder is stamped on the right side "Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4" (Birmingham 4 was the Webley Pre 1958 address). It is also stamped "Webley Patents". The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Senior Made in England' together with 'oil' and arrow indicator pointing to the oil hole located on top of the cylinder. The right side is stamped 'Webley & Scott Ltd, Birmingham and with Webley UK & International Patents'. The forward barrel block is stamped '.22' calibre & the front of the cylinder stamped with serial number '1572'. The original blueing is 85% intact. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight, and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action.
