Boxed, Post 1958, Webley Senior ‘E’ .22 Calibre Air Pistol With Brown Grips. 19259:10 - 19259:10
This is a Webley Senior .22 Calibre Air pistol. It has undamaged brown plastic grips with Webley roundels. The blue finish has some wear and scratches consistent with age and use. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Senior Made In England' together with 'oil' and arrow indicator pointing to the oil hole located on top of the cylinder. The right side is stamped 'Webley & Scott Ltd, Birmingham'(The pre 1958 Birmingham area code 4 was removed post 1958 after a factory relocation, See Page 75 of Webley Air Pistols by Bruce). The grips are in near perfect condition, the blueing in parts is showing signs of wear. The forward barrel block is stamped '.22' calibre & the front of the cylinder stamped with number '308'. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. It cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The pistol is contained in its original Webley cardboard box with Webley labelling & imagery *the box is showing its age, see images. Boxed, Pre 1939 Webley Junior Series 1 .177 Calibre Air Pistol. 19259:9. - 19259:9
Post WW2 Junior Series 2 air pistol’s had shorter barrels than the pre War Series 1 Juniors. They also have plastic stock plates rather than tin stock plates which were fitted to 1st Series pistols. This is a pre War boxed Webley Junior Series 1 .177 Calibre Air pistol (see page 96 of Webley Air Pistols by Gordon Bruce). It is undamaged and finished in the white. It has the correct ribbed tin plate grips. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Patented In Great Britain No 219872 And All Principal Countries’. The left side of the cylinder is also marked ‘Made In England’. The right side has ‘Webley & Scott LTD Birmingham’. The frame is numbered ‘J20700’. ‘700’ is repeated on the front of the cylinder. It has a blade foresight, adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires as it should. It is contained in its original Brown background Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham address. Post 1958 Boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air Pistol with Original Webley pellets. 19259:8 - 19259:8
This is an excellent boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air pistol (see pages 95 to 108 of Bruce’s book ‘Webley Air Pistols’). It is undamaged with original blue finish. It has the correct black plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham Made In England'. The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial / batch number '320'. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly crisply. The plastic grips are unmarked and the pistol retains 75% of its original bluing. The pistol’s rifled bore is clean. It is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box which contains the original small envelope containing approx. 30 x .177 calibre pellets. This is an original boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air pistol. It is undamaged with original finish and black plastic grips with embossed webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4 Made In England' (In 1958 Webley relocated their factory from Birmingham 4 to Birmingham 21 Postal area. Weapons produced after 1958 were marked either Birmingham or Birmingham 21). See ‘Webley Air Pistols’ By Gordon Bruce pages 43 & 123. The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial number '1550'. The barrel and cylinder are showing wear to the underside. The plastic grips are in excellent condition. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. It is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham 4 address. Post 1979 BSA Airsporter ‘S’ .22 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle With ‘GM’ Prefix Serial Number. AI 697. - AI 697
The BSA Airsporter S was introduced in 1979. GM prefix serial numbers denote March 1983. .22 calibre (see page 59 of The Collector’s Guide To Air Rifles By Hiller). This is an example of the ‘Deluxe Version’ Airsporter S in .22 calibre with increased power. The rifle measures 45” overall with a 19 ½” barrel. The rifle has an undamaged walnut stock with contoured cheek piece and rosewood fore end cap. The stock has finely chequered wrist panels for grip and is fitted with a rubber recoil pad the end of which bears the BSA piled arms logo. The weapon's barrel is stamped 'BSA Guns Ltd England (partially obscured by barrel band) .22 Cal' also with the BSA piled arms logo. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the correct gm prefix serial number 'gm 01164'. The bore is rifled, the barrel’s bore is clean. It has a shrouded ramp blade, fore sight, adjustable rear sight & telescopic sight grooves with a Bushnell wide angle 3x. 9x.39 waterproof scope attached. The top of the air cylinder has the correct marking ‘BSA Airsporter S’. The weapon's metal work is in excellent undamaged condition and the original blue finish is excellent. The HW25L is a fine ‘petite’ spring piston air rifle. This small rifle is packed with all of the quality HW puts into their range of air rifles. The HW25L is perfect for youth, women, or those wanting a small, effortless, and accurate air rifle. The 25L sports a precision ordinance steel barrel with button rifling, a re-settable safety, walnut stained beech stock, and a 2-stage trigger. The fibre optic sights included aid in sight and target acquisition. The rifle will generate enough pressure to propel a pellet at 575 fps, giving this small rifle enough power to target shoot and eliminate pests out to about 30 yards. The extremely easy cocking effort in tandem with almost no recoil makes for a shooting delight. This example has a serial No of ‘1807295’ which dates it between 2010/2011 stamped to the barrel along with HW 25L, Hull Cartridge and safety instructions. There is a brass coloured plaque fixed to the stock ‘Henry Charles Wood Wareing’ this can be removed and is worthy of further investigation. The gun comes with an original Weihrauch 4 x 32 scope and leather and webbing shoulder sling on swivels. The rifle has genuine fixed and adjustable sights front and rear. Boxed 1920's Webley Mark 1 .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Wood Grips. Sn 19259:4 - 19259:4
This is an excellent 1920's Webley Mark 1, .22 Calibre Air Pistol (See pages 16 to 20 of Bruce's book Webley Air Pistols). It has excellent undamaged metal work with all of its original finish and superb wood grips with inlaid Webley 'winged bullet' roundel correctly on one grip only. The left side of the frame is stamped serial number ' 41908' (908 is repeated on the front of the cylinder) and with the 'Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham' manufacturers detail together with 1925 Great Britain, Belgium, France, USA & Canada Patents. The right side is marked ' Webley Air Pistol Mark I Made In England' together with Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Spain Italy & Germany 1923 and 1924 Patents. The breech block has the correct Webley improved sliding barrel release catch. It has an adjustable rear sight & the barrel strap beneath the blade fore sight is stamped 'MK 1 .177' (the .177 marking is hidden when the barrel is in the closed position). The left side above the trigger has the correct safety catch feature. The pistol cocks and fires crisply. The pistol is contained in its original Webley labelled box which has just light surface wear to be expected with age and bears Webley pistol imagery, trademark and Birmingham address. Transit Cased 1930's Webley Service 3rd Series MK II .22 Calibre Air Rifle With Period Webley Special Pellets Tin. Sn 19259:3 - 19259:3
This is a cased, 1930’s 3rd Series Webley Service Mark II Air Rifle. These rifles introduced C1935 had a modified centrally mounted flip up aperture rear sight, an improvement on the earlier Type 1 & Type 2 side mounted Webley Service sights (See Chapter 2 of Thrale's book Webley Air Rifles 1925-2005). The trigger guard and barrel of our rifle have matching serial numbers ‘S 13337 / 13337’. The barrel has a blade foresight and is stamped with ‘.22 calibre’. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'WEBLEY SERVICE AIR RIFLE MK II". 'MANUFACTURED BY WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD, BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND and with the Webley 'winged pellet logo'. It has the Great Britain, USA, Spain, Germany and Canada 1925 patents stamped on the Right Side of the air chamber. It also has the correct patent Number '371548'. It has its original undamaged wood stock with chequered wrist & ribbed horn butt plate. It has the correct 3rd Series flip up aperture sight and shoots crisply. The rifle is contained in its ebonised wood transit case with rubber carry handle and clasp fasteners. The case is lined with green felt and has compartments to fit the rifle, barrel and accessories. Adhered to the inside of the lid is an illustrated Webley Service parts diagram. The case contains a period ‘Webley Special Pellets’ tin which contains some lead pellets. **WORLD’S SMALLEST* 1927-1935, German, Venus Waffenfabrik Tell II .177 Calibre Break Action Tin Plate Air Pistol. AI 695 - AI 695
Venus Waffenfabrik of Mehlis Germany produced the Tell II Air pistol between 1927 & 1935. It is made of tin plate and measured 5 ½” overall length. It was advertised as 'The World's smallest spring piston Air Pistol' (see pages 157 & 158 of The Collectors Guide To Air Pistols by Hiller). Its unique concentric design made it the Father of several full size Air Pistols. Before cocking the pistol, a lever is swung out from the rear of the grip to afford mechanical advantage while cocking is performed. The Pistols were only made in No 1 Bore/ .177 calibre. This Tell II .177 Air pistol is in very good condition, fully functioning with original blue finish which is rubbed in areas consistent with age and use. Its original flat chequered wood grips are intact and secured by a screw bolt. The top of the compression cylinder is correctly stamped by the manufacturer 'D.R.G.M Tell II D.R.P' including the Venus Waffenfabrik factory combined 'V & W ' trade mark.
