WW1 1916-1918 Dated, Rochdale Special Constabulary Sergeant's Presentation Truncheon With Chester 1918-19 Hallmarked Silver Plate Engraved To Sgt Milne With Wrist Strap. POL 339. - POL 339
This is a superb quality original WW1 wooden Special Constabulary Sgt's Presentation Truncheon. It is 15 1/2 inches in length and has highly coloured decoration in Gold, Red, Blue and Black featuring The Kings Crown with Royal Cypher (George Rex) together with Rochdale Coat of Arms above banners with lettering to 'Rochdale Special Constabulary', '1916-1918'. The neck of the truncheon near to the handle is mounted with a silver plate engraved 'Sgt Milne'. The plate has nice clear Silver Hallmarks (Chester 1918-19). It has a deep grooved grip with rounded end and is fitted with leather wrist strap. The wood is undamaged with no dents. This is an original item of WW1 British Police memorabilia with Hallmarked Silver Mount worthy of further research and the price includes UK delivery. POL 339.

Early WW2 1939 Dated Home Front, British Police Inspector's 'Tommy' Helmet By BH & C Ltd With Liner & Chinstrap. Sn 9636 - 9636
This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, painted steel Police Inspector's 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted white and has it's original Stenciled navy blue paint lettering 'POLICE'. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped 'ROC VA' & dated 'I (Jan)1939'. It has it's original black oil cloth liner with adjustment cord and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. The chin strap is hand ink marked '981' . The inside of the helmet is marked by the manufacturer 'BH&C Ltd' dated '1 (Jan)1939' and has date size '7'. The helmet is undamaged with no denting and it retains almost all of it's original paint. Large Victorian Document Secure Storage Transit Box Marked To H.M. Inspector Of Constabulary For Scotland, Dover House. Sn 9638 - 9638
Early in the 19th Century many changes were made to the way crime was dealt with in Scotland. In the mid 1800's Scottish burghs were given power to establish police Forces if they had not already done so. Her Majesty's Inspector Of Constabularies (HMIC) were given power by Queen Victoria to enquire into the performance of Constabularies and make recommendations to improve recruitment of Constables & their pay and conditions of service. These enquires generated large quantities of documentation much of which was secret or sensitive and required secure storage in particular when in transit. This is an excellent original Victorian HMIC secure storage metal transit box. It measures 18 1/2"x 13"x 11"and has a hinged lid with brass lock (the key has become lost at some point in it's life). The box has carry handles riveted to the left and right sides of it's body and retains much of it's original black paint. It has no dents and the front of the box is stencil marked ' H.M. INSPECTOR OF CONSTABULARY FOR SCOTLAND DOVER HOUSE PAPERS'. Victorian English Rochdale Borough Police Hanger Sidearm With Etched Blade & Scabbard. Sn 8755. - 8755
This is an excellent Victorian Police Hanger & scabbard. It has a fine deeply etched panel 'R.B.P. No. 127' ( Rochdale Borough Police Weapon No. 127) on one side of the blade (illustrated). It has a clean fullered 23" swept blade with fuller. The shagreen handle is in good order with brass hand guard and stepped pommel. The hilt is fitted with original leather washer. The overall legnth of the sword is 28 1/2 inches. The hilt has the correct press stud scabbard retaining lug which works correctly. The brown leather scabbard with brass mounts is in similar excellent condition with all leather & stitching intact and just the scuffs to be expected. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 8755

Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) Braided Patrol Jacket. Sn 9287. - 9287
The armed Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) was Ireland's major police force from the early nineteenth century until the partition of Ireland in 1922. This is an excellent, original, RIC Braided Patrol Jacket. Made of Green Serge material edged with flat black braid, it has hook & eye fastening to the front. It has 4 loops of the same braid each side to the front & forming back seam ornaments. The tunic has never been fitted with olivettes. The roll collar is edged with black lace. It has plain epaulettes with absent badges and thin lace to each sleevel side pockets. It has pointed cuffs edged with braid and Russia eyes above and below. The shoulder straps are edged with narrow braid and bear stitch traces of embroided crowns which have been removed. It is fitted with black kings crown buttons 1 embossed Durham County Constabulary the other Lincolnshire Constabulary. All material is intact and clean. it is approx UK size 40" Chest. This is an excellent WW2 Metropolitan Police Special Constabulary Officer's Peaked Cap. It's Dark Navy Blue material is clean and undamaged as is it's excellent embroided Oak leaf band. It has it's original alloy Cap Badge with King's Crown, Coat Of Arms & wording 'Metropolitan Special Constabulary'. The rear of the badge has the correct lugs & split pin. It has a patent leather peak & The Cap's liner is clean with just the service wear to be expected. The crown of the cap has a nice label 'Herbert Johnson, 38 New Bond Street london' with Arms and 'Royal Appointment' banner. An original Victorian Truncheon, with 'Hants Parish Constable' along the side. The truncheon is made of dark wood and painted black, the decoration is painted over the top of this. From the top there is a crown in gold and red, and below this is "VR" then painted down the side is "Hants Parish Constable" The decoration is clearly visible but faint as can be seen from the photographs. This is a very scarce truncheon. The truncheon has a fine ribbed handle which is unpainted. The truncheon measures 17 1/4". The price includes Uk delivery.

An original, early 1900's Eastbourne Borough Police Sergeant's Tunic. It is made of blue Melton cloth. The collar is edged with black Mohair braid and complete with metal badges. It has buttons of oxidised white metal, 8 at the front and 2 at the waist. the sleeves have silver russian braid Sgt's chevrons. The inside of the Tunic has a paper label clearly marked by the Manufacturer Reynolds & Co and with hand written 'Sergt Miles 5/9' and size measurements ' Sleeve 34 1/2", Bt (Breast) 39" Wa (Waist) 37 1/2".
