A WW1 Manchester Police Special Constables hand decorated presentation truncheon named to 'A. H. Hughes'. During WW1 Chief Constables were empowered to swear in Special Constables to police their force areas whilst the majority of men were away at war. This is a fine example of a Manchester Police Special Constables Truncheon. It is made from hard wood and varnished. It has a very broad 5 groove grip and round end. The tip is stamped with "Lindop Manchester". The truncheon measures 15 1/2" long. The baton is hand decorated with the Kings Crown above a Banner with 'Manchester' inside. Below this is the Manchester Council crest and below this another banner with 'Special Constable'. A banner below this has 'A. H. Hughes' and '1916-1919'. Early WW1/post 1902 'GR' Police Presentation Hand Decorated Truncheon to Coatbridge Police, Scotland. Coatbridge is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 10 miles east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. The town, with neighbouring Airdrie, is part of the Greater Glasgow urban area. The truncheon is made from hard wood and varnished. It is in excellent condition and the decoration is bright and complete as can be seen from the photographs. The truncheon has the Kings Crown with Royal Cypher (George Rex) in red, white, green and gold paint together with the Coatbridge Coat of Arms, a crest edged in gold with a red background over which "Coatbridge" is painted in gold. It has a deep grooved grip with a rounded end. The truncheon measures 16". The price includes Uk delivery. Sn 10726

Victorian London Constabulary Parker Field & Sons Police Hanger & Scabbard. Sn 10719 - 10719
This is a very good original Victorian Police Hanger & scabbard. Manufactured by Parker Field & Sons (who had premises at 233 Holborn London C1850) it has a slim 24 inch blade with pronounced curve and fuller. The blade has just light staining near to the tip consistent with age. The hilt is fitted with original leather washer. It's Shagreen handle is in good order with a brass handguard & stepped pommel. The overall length of the sword is 29 1/4 inches. The cross guard is nicely marked 'Parker Field & Sons London' with their Holborn Street address. It's black leather scabbard is in nice undamaged condition with just the scuffs to be expected & brass mounts. The upper mount has an oval brass locket. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 10719

A Victorian Police Presentation truncheon, hand decorated, by McNaughton, Glasgow and stamped with 332. The truncheon is made from a hard wood, and varnished. It is 18" long. It has a ringed baluster grip. The pommel is stamped with the maker's name, "McNaughton, Glasgow", (see one of the photographs). The truncheon is hand decorated with the Queen Victoria Royal Cypher (V.R.) and below this it is stamped with "332". This is a nice original truncheon. The price includes Uk delivery. Sn 10724

A police presentation truncheon hand made display stand to hold 7 x truncheons. The stands have been commissioned by ourselves and are hand made for displaying Police Presentation Truncheons. The stands are beautifully made and finished. They are made from hard wood and varnished. They have green baize in the truncheon 'seats' and four baize circles, one in each corner on the base. An original WW1 period Cheshire Constabulary uniform leather waist belt, buckle and clasp. The waist belt is dark brown leather and it has a very nice original patina. The belt is in excellent condition. It is 48" long when laid out flat. It has a buckle which allows it to be adjusted, in the photographs it is adjusted to 36". The belt has two leather loops. The clasp is nickel and has the Cheshire Constabulary crest in the centre along with "Cheshire Constabulary" around the outside. The leather fob behind the clasp has a number stamped on the reverse "106340" making it a researchable item. The stitching on the belt is all present and secure. The price includes Uk delivery. During WW1 Chief Constables placed posters in their area's to recruit any loyal men over the age of 21 years to volunteer as Special Constables for the duration of the war. They were issued with Brassard's (armbands) to be worn when on duty. This brassard is in very nice condition and has a cloth 18 1/2" long armband with a sewn on nickel buckle at one end and an alloy 'Special Constable' slid on over loops badge with "300" in the centre. The alloy badge has "Hiatt & Co B'ham Rd.n.o 453817" stamped on the bottom front edge. This is a very nice clean example. The price includes Uk delivery. Sn 10712:2

WW1 1914-1919, Stockport Borough Cheshire Constabulary Special Constabulary Presentation Truncheon To John James Rothwell. POL 353 - POL 353
This is an excellent quality original WW1 wooden Special Constabulary Presentation Truncheon. It is 15 1/2 inches in length and has a coloured decoration in Gold, Red and Blue featuring The Kings Crown with Royal Cypher (George Rex) together with the Stockport Borough, Cheshire Coat of Arms, a crest edged in gold with a blue background over which there are three diamonds and 11 crosses. This is above 'Special Constabulary 1914-1919'. On the other side it has "John James Rothwell" in large gold lettering. It has a deep grooved grip with rounded end and is fitted with the remnants of it's original leather strap. The wood is undamaged with no dents. This is an original item of WW1 British Police memorabilia worthy of further research and the price includes UK delivery. POL 353
