This is an original MK 1 WW2 U.S. Navy Fighting Knife made by Camillus in its scabbard. The grip is constructed of the correct compressed laminated leather washers (see pages 73 to 84 of of ‘US Military Knives by Cole’). It has a steel cross guard and a 7" parkerised bowie blade. The blade is marked "U.S. CAMILLUS" (Camillus Cutlery new York). The pommel is secured by pin. MINT, Un Issued Condition WW2 US Navy Mark 2 Fighting Knife By Camillus & M2 Scabbard With Integral Frog By BM Co. Sn 13028 - 13028
This is an original WW2 US MK 2 Fighting Knife & MK 2 Scabbard With Integral Frog in un issued near mint condition. Its 7” parkerised blade is undamaged. It has the correct leather washer ringed handle in excellent condition. The cross guard is crisply stamped by the manufacturer ‘Camillus US NY’ (Cutlery Company USA New York) and ‘USN MK 2’. The knife is complete with its original green plastic scabbard with integral green webbing frog which has a single retaining strap and press stud fastener. The upper mount of the scabbard is stamped 'USN MK 2’ & the reverse is stamped by the manufacturer 'BM Co' (Beckwith Manufacturing Company) together with ‘VP’ (Victory Plastics), ‘NORD-8114’ and inspection mark ‘1/1’. VERY RARE, MINT, WW2 U.S. Navy 1st Type, MK 2 (Early Ka-Bar) Fighting Knife By Camillus & Early U.S.N. Leather Scabbard. Sn 12872 - 12872
The WW2 1st Type MK 2 fighting knives issued to the U.S.N. (United States Navy) has a heavy steel pommel secured by a threaded nut at the butt. The 1st type MK2 was only in service for a short period and was soon replaced by the 2nd type which had a pommel secured by steel pin (see page 86 of ‘U.S Military Knives by Cole’. 1st type MK2 knives are very rare. This is an excellent original example of the 1st type WW2 U.S. Navy MK 2 Fighting Knife made by Camillus in its scabbard. The grip is constructed of the correct compressed laminated leather washers with correct 1st type steel pommel secured at the butt by threaded nut. It is in superb near mint, clean and undamaged condition. It has a steel cross guard and a 7" parkerised bowie blade. The cross guard is crisply stamped, "U.S.N." and the reverse with manufacturer details "CAMILLUS N.Y.". It is complete with its original early leather scabbard with belt loop and retaining strap with working brass press stud fastener. It is stamped on the front 'USN'. This is a Ka-Bar type American U.S. Navy combat/utility knife from WW2. It is stamped on the ricasso with "U.S. Camillus N.Y.". The grip is the usual compressed leather washers. The blade is a single edge, clipped point and short fuller measuring 7". It is in very good condition. The crossguard is steel as is the pommel. WW2 US Army Airforce Folding Survival Machete By Cattaraugus. ED 2079 - ED 2079
This is an original American made folding machete / fighting knife by Cattaraugus. The U.S Army, folding survival machete was introduced in 1942 and issued to U.S Air crew and originally carried folded in the seat pack attached to parachutes. This original WW2 example has a riveted handle. The machete measures 15 1/2" extended & 11" folded. The 9 3/4" blade has some staining and nicks to the cutting edge consistent with service use. The blade is marked by the manufacturer "Cattaraugus USA". It's black grips are in good undamaged condition. This is an American U.S. Navy utility knife from WW2. It is marked on the ricasso with "U.S.N." on one side and "Camillus N.Y." on the other. The grip is the usual compressed leather washers but the original owner has customised it for a better grip. The blade is blued and in excellent condition. The scabbard is the standard leather one with all stitching intact and a press stud which works as it should. The original owner has scored "A Elpern" on the reverse. The Case Cutlery Company USA made stiletto type fighting knives during WW1. They were often privately purchased by American soldiers (see page 63 plate 296 of Fighting Knives by Stephens). This is an original Case Cutlery fighting knife and scabbard. The knife has a single edge 6 ¼” blade, with an overall length of 10 ¼”. The original grips are wood secured by 3 rivets. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer ‘Case’. It is complete with its original riveted and stitched brown leather scabbard with integral belt loop and retaining strap with press stud fastener. EXTREMELY RARE, ORIGINAL, Sterile WW2 U.S. Office Of Strategic Command (O.S.S. Special Forces) Fighting Machete & Original Leather Scabbard With Integral Frog. Sn 12390 - 12390
This is an original WW2 American OSS fighting machete with its original correct scabbard (see page 116, plates 585, 586 & 587 of Fighting Knives by Stephens). This example is excellent and undamaged. It has the correct Burmese Dahl form, 16 ¾” long, single edged blade with heavy double edged tip constructed so that the weight is at the tip- effective in strengthening the slashing stroke of the weapon. The blade is clean and retains its original parkerised type finish. The hilt is cast from a black synthetic material and has the correct chequered panels and hole for wrist strap. The machete measures 22 ½” overall length. Its original scabbard is the correct thick tan leather with heavy duty stitching and integral belt loop. As is usual with special forces equipment, both the machete and scabbard are sterile having no manufacturer, Unit or War Dept marks. All leather & stitching of the scabbard are intact. WW2 USN PAL RH-36 Fighting Knife and Sheath. ED 249 - ED 249
This is the standard style of Fighting/Utility knife made by Pal and is contained in its standard pattern leather sheath. These knives were issued and carried during WWII by GI's. Marked on the left side of the ricasso RH and -36 flanking the PAL logo. It has the more scarce bright blade which measures 6 1/4". It has a leather washer handle. It carries the number "678" stamped into the pommel and also stamped into the leather grip. It appears to have been field sharpened and has obviously been used. However it is in excellent condition as is the leather sheath. The price includes UK delivery. ED 249

EXTREMELY RARE, ORIGINAL, Sterile WW2 U.S. Office Of Strategic Command (O.S.S. Special Forces) Smatchet By Case Cutlery USA & Original Leather Covered Wood Scabbard. ED 245 - ED 245
During WW2 the American Company W.R.Case & Sons Cutlery co made smatchets for the American O.S.S. Special Forces who engaged in Espionage and Covert Operations behind enemy lines during the War. The U.S. Government requested that these knives were made without manufacturer or War Dept markings i.e sterile so that the origins of the weapon could not be determined if captured. These weapons are extremely rare. Examples of the O.S.S. Smatchet and scabbard are illustrated on page 156 of the book U.S. Military Knives III by Cole. Page 157 of the same book illustrates a letter from the president of Case Cutlery dated 1960 addressed to the author of the book confirming that Case Cutlery made sterile smatchets during WW2 (illustrated in image 3) . This original example of the O.S.S Smatchet is excellent and undamaged. It has the correct large leaf shaped blade 11” in length (16 1/2" overall) which is riveted to its slab wood grips which are undamaged. It has a large oval steel cross guard and alloy pommel holed for wrist strap. Its scabbard is the correct wood covered leather with heavy duty stitching and rivets. It has a short retaining strap with press stud fastener and the rear has the correct diagonal belt loop (the surface of the belt loop is split but still intact and could easily be repaired). Both the Smatchet and Scabbard are sterile having no manufacturer, Unit or WD marks as described in the previously mentioned letter from Case Cutlery.
