1930's German Diana Modell 5 (V) .177 Calibre Break Action Air Pistol. Sn 8253 - 8253
An excellent 1930's German Diana Modell 5 .177 Calibre Break Action Air Pistol. The Modell 5 (V)pistols manufactured in the 1930's were made with hand chequered wood grips and although production of the modell 5 continued into the late 1970's with both wood and plastic grips the model 5 (V) was the only model to have the Dianawerk 'Circle D with arrow trademark' on top of the cylinder ( see page 266 of the Blue Book of Airguns By Beeman). The underside of the barrel is stamped with Cal.4.5mm (.177) Calibre detail. The wood stock of this weapon has the correct hand chequered pistol grip and is in near mint condition. It's metal work has nice patina throughout. The left side of the cylinder is crisply stamped with model detail 'Modell 5'( Our research indicates that Modell 5 (V) Pistols were marked Modell 5 without the (V) designation). It is also marked 'D.R.P' and 'Made In Germany'. The top of the cylinder is marked with the correct 'Diana' manufacturer's name & 'Circle D Arrow' Legend. It is fitted with triangular blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. It's loading & firing action works perfectly and it has an excellent clean rifled 7 1/4" stepped barrel (13" overall).
