OUT OF STOCK OUT OF STOCK Scarce Inert WW1 Armour Piercing 13mm T–Gewehr Round For The Mauser Tankgewehr M1918, (13X92SR) anti-tank rifle. Sn. O 1010 - O 1010
DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a scarce armour piercing round with an unusual headstamp and bullet profile for the WW1 Mauser T-gewehr M1918, usually abbreviated T-Gewehr that began mass production by Mauser at Oberndorf am Neckar in May 1918. This was the first ever produced specific anti-tank rifle made. The rifle was made due to the 7.92 mm K bullet no longer being effective against the British tanks introduced to the battlefield in 1916. The armour piercing hardened steel cored 13.2 x 92mm (.525-inch) semi-rimmed cartridge is normally called the 13mm T–Gewehr (Tank-Gewehr). These examples are headstamped P over M (Polte, Werke Magdeburg). P 7 18 (July 1918) , P 8 18 (August 1918) ( 2 off), P 6 18 (June 1918). The bullet is unusual in that the centre of bullet casing is waisted for 7mm below where the bullet is crimped in the case with a diameter of 13.00 mm. The armour piercing bullet will be cut across the base of the bullet casing and the hardened steel core to destabilise them if ever they were fired so they are collectable without a licence. This deactivation cannot be seen when the bulleted round is displayed. No licence is required to possess these inert rounds in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. The price includes UK delivery. O 1010
