INERT. Collection Of 11 Wire Shotgun Muzzle Loading Cartridges Sn - 19966:11
This is a collection of assorted wire shotgun muzzle loading cartridges that were manufactured to slow the scatter of shotgun pellets when fired from an unchoked bore of the early muzzle loading shotguns. The cartridges were manufactured from the 1830s and continued up to the First World War. The wire cartridges use declined with the use of a choked bore, introduced to keep the shot pattern a greater distance from the muzzle. This is a collection of various wire shotgun cartridges, most are marked Eley and Joyce together with the cartridge bore and shot details, whilst one is unmarked. The smallest bore cartridge is 17 bore and the largest is 5 bore. The price for this selection of wire cartridges includes UK delivery and no licence is required to possess these wire cartridges in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 19966:11
