INERT DEACTIVATED. Unfired WW2, 1942 Dated American M43A3 Mechanical Time Fuse & Protector Cover. - O 1726
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an American WW2, 1942 dated mechanical time fuse of the MT, M43 series, used in American 3 inch, 90mm and 105mm anti-aircraft guns. The fuse is complete with its ready to use quick release issue cover. The fuse consists of a brass body and an alloy nose cone ant timing ring. The time ring is stamped MECH TIME FUZE M43A3 E.K,CO 1942 LOT 68CS-21. The timing ring is graduated from 2 to 30 and is adjusted by turning the brass centre on the fuse with a mechanical fuse setter. The fuse is complete with its pressed steel lockable protective cover which retains most of its original light green painted finish with a dark green top. The side of the cover is stencilled in white EM15/73 LOT4 and N.97 MK.6/2. INERT DEACTIVATED. British L62A.I.D. Experimental Proximity Nose Fuse. - O 1725
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a rare British L62 A.I.D. proximity nose fuse. The proximity fuse was developed during WW2 by the British and consists of a radio transmitter, receiver, battery and firing mechanism in a standard nose fuse. The fuse was developed for mass production by the Americans who had a vast research and manufacturing capacity at that time. The fuses become pivotal during WW2 in the battle of the V1 rockets in southern England and against the Japanese Kamikaze aircraft in the Pacific campaign. This Proximity fuse has a 4mm wide painted purple band round the gain part of the fuse, designating the fuse to be of an experimental nature. The steel fuse body has the standard British shell thread and the top of the fuse has a time ring scale from 5 to 82 as well as ‘safe’ engraved on it. Under the time scale is stamped FL 2818 highlighted with green paint. The top of the fuse rotates to set the time. At the very top of the fuse is a white plastic cap reminiscent of a VT (American designation for the proximity fuse, called the Variable Time fuse), the British designation being a Proximity fuse. The fuse is painted blue under the white plastic nose cone and is painted in red L3/V.T.5 70-A. Below this is painted in yellow L62A/D and Demo 25-6. When the black bakelite transit plug is taken off the bottom of the fuse, it revealed a brass clockwork time mechanism which is stamped 62 LOT 2818 . Above the purple band on the fuse body is etched L3/1508. The fuse is fitted with a left hand threaded black bakelite transit plug at the base where the gaine would have been screwed in and has moulded into it TRANSIT PLUG DO NOT FIRE FL5 AND UNSCREW with an arrow. INERT DEACTIVATED, WW2, 1942 Dated German No57 Bomb Fuse And Bakelite Transit Container. - O 1715
INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an original German 1942 dated No 57 bomb fuse, safety cap and is complete with its original 1941 dated bakelite transit container. This fuse is an electrical impact fuse. The fuse and protective cap have a sand painted top and is mainly of alloy construction with steel screws locating pin. The fuse has two insulated plungers at the top. There are three steel slotted head assembly screws holding the top on and a steel location pin at the side to orient it with the bomb casing. The body retains some of its original blackened finish and the base is screwed for the gain. The fuse is stamped at the top EIAZ 57 (within a circle) A edr (Sachsenwerk Licht u. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an original German 1939 dated early pattern No 9 bomb fuse. The all alloy fuse has two arming plungers and a steel locating pin on the side. The fuse is painted red and has two insulated plungers at the top. The fuse is stamped at the top EI.Zt.Z Rhs 1939 (1939 date) a 9 within a circle. The outer top of the fuse is stamped 7a and waffenampt 66 opposite. The fuse is complete with its original alloy press on safety cap which is stamped Kappeu. INERT. Rare German Zt.Z .f.Sp.Bu.37 Type 2 Clockwork Delay Time Fuse In Box For The Sp Bu 37 Bounding Gas Mine. - O 1709
INERT. This is a 1940 dated German Zt.Z .f.Sp.Bu.37 type 2 Clockwork 5 minute delay time fuse In its original box that contained 4 fuses that was used in the Sp Bu 37 Spruhbusche 37 Bounding Gas Mine. This cylindrical mine was 7inches diameter by 16 inches high and contained mustard gas. The use for this mine was to deny ground captured by the enemy by covering it with mustard gas. The mine could be set to give a ground burst or an airburst to cover a contaminated area of approximately 600 square yards. The fuse is made of bakelite with a screw on top containing a key to wind and set the simple clockwork mechanism with a time delay of up to 5 minutes which couls be read on a per spex side window. The bakelite fuse body is markde RHS ah the top and Zt.Z f Sp Bu 37. On the other side below the key window at the bottom it is stencilled in white 254/40 (1940 date) and a German eagle over 813 stamped in purple on a white painted square next to it. The fuse top contains its original winding key in the lid and an alloy protective cap protecting the firing pin, the fuse is contained in a strong buff coloured cardboard box with four compartments in it. The box has a white and black label on one side with Zt.Z.f.Sp.Bu.37 printed on it together with other information. The lid of the box is embossed Zt.Z.fur 1Ol.Sp.Bu.37. INERT. American Vietnam War Era Dummy Napalm Bomb Igniter Fuse. - O 1676
INERT. This is a scarce Vietnam War era dummy napalm bomb igniter fuse. The grey fuse is an instruction dummy fuse and was fitted to the front of a napalm bomb to give an airburst instead of contact burst when dropped which would prove more effective over vegetation and troops in the open as opposed to it igniting on contact. The top of the fuse has an alloy 4 vaned arming propeller with a safety pin attached to a split pin to stop the propeller rotating is transit. The lower circumference if the fuse is closed by a pressed steel crimped on course threaded right hand screw thread This fuse retains much of its original grey painted finish and is stencilled in white round its circumference INERT. The base of the fuse is engraved with the number 592004683 and has a 12mm slotted screw head to one side. The fuse is approximately 4 inches diameter with a height of 4 3/8 inches. DEACTIVATED INERT. This is rare WW1 Serbian alloy time fuse using the pyrotechnic filling and adjustable ring to set the time delay in the fuse. This type of fuse has channels milled into a moveable circular rings on the fuse and by rotating it to an alignment in the main fuse body, a variable delay is achieved. This is an alloy Serbian time fuse with their distinctive to them top hat vent on the top. The fuse is graduated to 130 and has a small diameter fuse thread with a course pitch. This type of fuse was manufactured in Serbia for use in the 120mm Schneider Creusot field guns and the Krupp 120mm howitzer. This fuse dissembles into its component parts. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a British number 960 Drill Multi mode bomb fuse. Drill fuses were used to train armourers to safely fit, use, handle and store fuses, This is a little used British number 960 mark 1 drill tail mounted bomb fuse and is paint dark blue to signify this. The bottom of the gaine is also stencilled in white DRILL. The fuse has a red label on the top with 960 MK 1 (the fuse number). The fuse also has in white lettering with arrows on this red label WARNING DISABLER EXTENDS AT HIGH VELOCITY, ENSURE RED SECRUITY SEAL INTACT and ENSURE T-BAR ALIGNED. The fuse is also stencilled round its circumference in white 960 MK1 DRILL/A HMK 91 DL/TGC/ 1335-99-060-3689 . The fuse has two electrical multi pin connectors to the side and a large locking ring above the gaine to secure the fuse in the tail of the bomb, under the tail fins. The bomb used with this fuse was usually a 1,000lb General Purpose (GP) bomb. The number 960 fuse was replaced in service use by the 951/952/947 series of bomb fuses around 2005. INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an original German No 89B, mechanical bomb time fuse with a delay of between 4 to 60 seconds and its original bakelite transit container. The fuse has an alloy top with a blackened steel casing and an alloy base screwed for a gaine with a steel locating pin. The top of the fuse has a single large central charging plunger at the top which is stamped Nurfurhand Einstellung. The fuse is stamped at the top ZT.Z.89 B 13 t. bzz (IG-Farbenindustrie, Camerawerk Muenchen) waffenampt 126. There is a trace of red paint across the lettering on the top of the fuse. The alloy press on safety cap is stamped Kappeu. Dichtungsring vor beladen entfernen. This fuse was fitted to AB 250-3, 250-2, 500-1 (Contains 1kg incendiary bombs) and 1000-2 (Contains 1kg incendiary bombs) bomb containers and the Sprengbrand C.50 incendary bombs. This short all alloy fuse is a mechanical fuse for the LC 50 parachute flare with a delay of between 13 and 57 seconds. The alloy fuse has two insulated plungers at the top. There is a steel location pin at the side to orient the fuse with the bomb casing. The fuse is stamped at the top EIZt 59 A bmv (Rheinmetall-Borsig AG, Soemmerda plant, Soemmerda) 1941 (1941 date) 1c waffenampt 66 . This fuse was for use with the LC 50 parachute flare.
