Massive, Silver Plated, 1907-1986 Military Chatham & District United Services Football League Winners Shield Plaque Presented By RN Barracks HMS Acheron & Military Services Football Clubs 1907. Sn 10040 - 10040
The Chatham & District United Services League included teams from all of the Military Services and some Civilian Police teams. In 1907 the league was presented with a trophy for the league in the form of a massive Oak Shield shaped plaque measuring 28 1/4" x 22 1/2" x 1 1/2". The Plaque was presented to the league by Royal Navy Barracks and other military services. It's highly decorated silver plated embossed centre and fittings features a football game in play scene and banner ' Chatham & District United Services Football League' together with beautifully engraved presentation details which include the title HMS Acheron (HMS Acheron is recorded as an A-class destroyer sunk by a mine during WW2 on 17 December 1940 off St. Catherine's Point). It is also dated 1907 (all illustrated). The top section of the Shield features a banner engraved 'Winners 1907-1963 and winning teams of the league from the 1st winners ' Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders 1907-08' through to 'B Div. Police 1962-63'. The lower section of the shield features individual silver plated shields with Police, Army and Navy, League Champions team details engraved. The Shield appears to have been last won in the 1985-86 Season by Medway Police and has their shield towards the lower edge. The bottom tip of the shield has a void silver plated shield ready for engraving. All wood is undamaged and the silver plating on this impressive shield has just the wear to be expected with age. Large Victorian Document Secure Storage Transit Box Marked To H.M. Inspector Of Constabulary For Scotland, Dover House. Sn 9638 - 9638
Early in the 19th Century many changes were made to the way crime was dealt with in Scotland. In the mid 1800's Scottish burghs were given power to establish police Forces if they had not already done so. Her Majesty's Inspector Of Constabularies (HMIC) were given power by Queen Victoria to enquire into the performance of Constabularies and make recommendations to improve recruitment of Constables & their pay and conditions of service. These enquires generated large quantities of documentation much of which was secret or sensitive and required secure storage in particular when in transit. This is an excellent original Victorian HMIC secure storage metal transit box. It measures 18 1/2"x 13"x 11"and has a hinged lid with brass lock (the key has become lost at some point in it's life). The box has carry handles riveted to the left and right sides of it's body and retains much of it's original black paint. It has no dents and the front of the box is stencil marked ' H.M. INSPECTOR OF CONSTABULARY FOR SCOTLAND DOVER HOUSE PAPERS'. Victorian English Rochdale Borough Police Hanger Sidearm With Etched Blade & Scabbard. Sn 8755. - 8755
This is an excellent Victorian Police Hanger & scabbard. It has a fine deeply etched panel 'R.B.P. No. 127' ( Rochdale Borough Police Weapon No. 127) on one side of the blade (illustrated). It has a clean fullered 23" swept blade with fuller. The shagreen handle is in good order with brass hand guard and stepped pommel. The hilt is fitted with original leather washer. The overall legnth of the sword is 28 1/2 inches. The hilt has the correct press stud scabbard retaining lug which works correctly. The brown leather scabbard with brass mounts is in similar excellent condition with all leather & stitching intact and just the scuffs to be expected. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 8755

Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) Braided Patrol Jacket. Sn 9287. - 9287
The armed Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) was Ireland's major police force from the early nineteenth century until the partition of Ireland in 1922. This is an excellent, original, RIC Braided Patrol Jacket. Made of Green Serge material edged with flat black braid, it has hook & eye fastening to the front. It has 4 loops of the same braid each side to the front & forming back seam ornaments. The tunic has never been fitted with olivettes. The roll collar is edged with black lace. It has plain epaulettes with absent badges and thin lace to each sleevel side pockets. It has pointed cuffs edged with braid and Russia eyes above and below. The shoulder straps are edged with narrow braid and bear stitch traces of embroided crowns which have been removed. It is fitted with black kings crown buttons 1 embossed Durham County Constabulary the other Lincolnshire Constabulary. All material is intact and clean. it is approx UK size 40" Chest. An original, early 1900's Eastbourne Borough Police Sergeant's Tunic. It is made of blue Melton cloth. The collar is edged with black Mohair braid and complete with metal badges. It has buttons of oxidised white metal, 8 at the front and 2 at the waist. the sleeves have silver russian braid Sgt's chevrons. The inside of the Tunic has a paper label clearly marked by the Manufacturer Reynolds & Co and with hand written 'Sergt Miles 5/9' and size measurements ' Sleeve 34 1/2", Bt (Breast) 39" Wa (Waist) 37 1/2". The jacket & Collar are edged in 1" black Mohair braid and trimmed with braid at the back. It has a row of Russia braid eyes inside the lace collar and pleated breast pockets and internal side pockets. It has pointed cuffs edged with braid and Russia eyes above and below. 1918 Lancashire Police Webley Mk.VI .455" Revolver Holster - L 253
A superb condition, 1918 dated, black leather holster, for the Webley Mk.VI .455" Service Revolver. In excellent condition with its front flap strap, brass stud, rear buckle and a belt loop. Stamped and dated on the rear "R.W. STIBY, 1918". Stamped inside the flap is "LANCASHIRE POLICE, 401956" This un-doubtably refers to a Police issue Webley 455 revolver of that number; all Police Forces were equipped with Webley 455 and .38 revolvers from WW1 until the early 1970s. U.S. Marlin Daley Bottleneck Handcuffs 1910 - PO 102
A rare U.S. pair of 1910 Marlin Daley swivel handcuffs, Marlin as in Marlin Gun Company Ct USA. They were nic-named "Daley Bottlenecks" because of their bottle like shape. The key is a tiny fork which is partially inserted then twisted 90 degrees and pressed down further & then twisted a further 90 degrees to release the cuff. They have a swivelling centre piece and were a favourite of the Canadian Mounted Police. Price includes UK delivery.
