The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War 1. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without joining rim and top combe. This is an original WW1 M15 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with sweatband liner and chinstrap with buckle presented to a WW1 French Army Veteran in memory of the Great War. The helmet is fitted with an original Infantry 'RF' (République Française) helmet badge featuring an armour breast plate & helm and has an ornate brass plate riveted to the brim engraved ‘Soldat De La Grande Guerre (Soldier Of The Great War) 1914-1918’ . The helmet has scuffs and patina consistent with age and retains some of its original dark blue / grey paint finish. It is approx UK size 6 1/2. RARE, WW1 German M16 Combat Helmet With Original Sectional Camouflage Paint & Original Padded Liner Marked ‘916’. Sn 15574 - 15574
WW1 M16 /17 German camouflage combat helmets had many paint design variants (see pages 46-95 of Helmets of the First War By Haselgrove & Radovic). This original WW1 German M16 Combat helmet is as found & has not been messed with. It has its original Camouflage sectioned paint pattern in shades of greens and browns sectioned by broad black painted lines. It has no dents and even patina all rivets are in place, one chin strap lug is absent. The helmet retains its original leather headband liner with cloth pads stuffed with horsehair. One pad is ink stamped ‘916’. The helmet has no visible manufacturer and /or size stamps. It is approx. UK size 7. WW2 British 8th Army North Africa ‘Desert Rats’ Sand Camouflage Tommy Combat Helmet With Oil Cloth Liner & Chin Strap. Sn 15594:2 - 15594:2
This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, steel 'Tommy' Combat helmet worn by British Infantry. This helmet has its original rough texture sand camo paint as worn by the 8th Army in the North African campaign (the 8th Army was commanded by British Army officers, however its personnel came from Britain & throughout the British Empire and Commonwealth; exiles from German-occupied Europe and units from Australia, British India, Canada, Free French Forces, Greece, New Zealand, Poland, Rhodesia & South Africa). The inner rim of the helmet is stamped ‘SSP’. It has its complete oil cloth sweat band & sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are intact. The helmet has the correct chin strap bales. This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, steel 'Tommy' Combat helmet worn by British Infantry. This helmet has all of its original olive green camo paint and the front has its original Royal Artillery ‘Red & Blue’ Diamond Painted Formation Insignia. There are no visible manufacturer or date stamps on the rim of the helmet but they may be present under the paint. The crown of the helmet has red hand painted letters and numbers which appears to be ‘JK239’ . It has its complete oil cloth sweat band & sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are intact. Korean War 1953 British 3rd Pattern Paratroopers Airborne Jump Helmet By E.B. With Liner & Chin Strap. Sn 15593 - 15593
This is an excellent, complete, original Korean War 1953 dated 3rd Pattern British Paratroopers Jump Helmet (see pages 152 & 153 of British Airborne Headdress By Fischer & Lock). 3rd pattern Jump Helmets were manufactured from 1943 and featured a manganese steel shell with webbing liner & leather chin cup. They 1st saw action on June 6th 1944 for the Normandy Invasion and later saw service in the Korean war. This helmet has just one shallow dent (1” diameter) which can be seen in image 3. Its original green paint has just the scuffs to be expected with age and service use. It has the correct webbing liner & chinstrap with leather cup. It has a brass top spike, Tudor rose boss devices to each side to support the velvet backed nickel plated brass link chin. It has a very ornate original helmet plate featuring beaded star with gilt edged wreath, Queen's Crown, brass banner with Regiment name and central Yorkshire rose. This is an excellent original WW2 1943 dated 2nd Pattern British Paratroopers Jump Helmet. This pattern of helmet were manufactured during 1942 and 1943 and mainly worn by Paras who saw action in Italy, Normandy, Arnhem & Germany (see page 92 of For King & Country By Glenn). 2nd Pattern helmets featured an all manganese steel shell without fibre rim and leather chin strap. This helmet has the correct 2nd Pattern features and retains its original olive green finish which has just small areas of surface wear to be expected with age and service use. It has no dents. This is an excellent, complete, original WW2 era 1st Pattern British Paratroopers Jump Helmet (see pages 98-100 of British Airborne Headdress By Fischer & Lock). 1st Pattern helmets featured a manganese steel shell with fibre rim. They were only manufactured during 1942 but were worn throughout WW2. This helmet has no denting and is complete with correct fibre rim, liner & correct leather chin strap. There are no size, manufacturer or date marks on this helmet. The inside of the rim has original white painted numbers and letters which appear to be ‘OX49382’ (illustrated), most likely the service number of the WW2 soldier. who was issued with this helmet. Scarce, Irish Free State Army 'Coal Scuttle' Model 1927 Helmet By Vickers Ltd Number 9612 of only 10,021 With Liner & Chin Strap. HE 873. - HE 873
An excellent condition, original, steel alloy, Irish Free State Army 'Coal Scuttle' Model 1927 Imperial German style helmet made by Vickers Ltd. It has its original finish and bronze coloured helmet badge with rear blades. Inside it has its original leather liner with correct 3 pads, each with their original inside padding. It has its original leather chinstrap with alloy buckle. Vickers made 10,021 helmet shells all individually numbered. The inside of the neck guard is crisply stamped V Ltd (Vickers), number ‘9612’ (of 10,021) another partial number which appears to be 'H42**' and '/27' (1927 designation). The helmet is undamaged with no dents. It is approx. UK size 7 ½. The price for this scarce helmet includes UK delivery. HE 873.
