This is an original WW1 Era, French Army Officer's Kepi. It has service wear throughout with stiffened leather peak and flat crown. It has a light blue and red material body and retains it's original German Silver bosses and bronze coloured band. The body and crown have light blue cord piping. The front of the Kepi is mounted with a small brass number '1' badge/ designation. It has it's original leather sweatband and blue cloth lining which has similar service wear. WW2 1941 War Department Marked British Overseas Service Tropical Solar Topee Helmet By Helmets Ltd Wheathampstead With WD Marked Canvas Transit Bag. Sn 10368 - 10368
This is an excellent original WW2 British Overseas Service Tropical Solar Topee Helmet. It's khaki canvas cover is undamaged. It has it's original khaki head band & vented top mount. It is complete with leather sweatband and original foil liner. The foil lining is in excellent condition considering how delicate the linings of these helmets were. The inside of the sweatband is WD & arrow ink stamped together with number 821. The sweatband also has an excellent red 7 white paper label marked by the manufacturer 'Helmets Ltd Wheathampstead' together with WD arrow, 1941 date & size 6 3/4. All material and stitching of the helmet are clean and undamaged. It has one of it's original brass chin strap hooks on the left side. The right hook is absent. The helmet is complete with it's original canvas transit bag. The bag is clean and intact. The bag has it's original cotton draw cord. An original WW1/ WW2 Era Dutch Military Shako. The cap is made from Navy Blue felt with gold braid piping to the body and rear and orange rim piping to the crown rim. The cap has a woven/ braided orange and gold cockade. The stippled black patent peak is lined inside with a green smooth finished material. It has a leather chin strap with buckle attached with brass Buttons either side. The cap is in original condition with some service wear (a 1" section of the orange material piping to the crown rim is perished). The inside of the cap has a leather sweat band and cloth liner. French Third Republic Republican Guard Model 1874 Shako By Barrau Paris With 'Paris Arms' Helmet Plate. Sn 10257 - 10257
The French Third Republic was France from 1870, when the Second French Empire collapsed, to 1940, when France's defeat by Nazi Germany led to the Vichy France Government. Vichy was replaced by the French Fourth Republic. This is an original French Third Republic, Republican Guard Model 1874 Shako. It has a dark blue cloth over a hard body with red cloth tape chevrons on either side and around the crown, accented with gilt lace. It has a black patent leather crown and holed metal ventilation inserts. It has a patent brim with brass reinforced rim, brass chin chain with Grenadier ignited grenade bosses. It has a brass city of Paris front plate underneath a tri-color cockade. It also has a thin leather chinstrap. The shako has it's original liner and the crown is nicely marked with a manufacturer's roundel 'Ets Barrau Paris' (illustrated). The shako is clean and undamaged. It is approx. UK size 6. This is a WW2 era Belgian Infantry 1926 French Pattern 'Adrian' Combat Helmet complete with it's original liner, chinstrap and Lion's head badge. The helmet differs from the WW1 design by being stamped from 1 piece of Steel and having a series of small ventilation holes in the crown instead of a single large hole which was viewed as a weak point of the old design. The French Air Force (French: Armée de l'Air is the air force of the French Armed Forces. It was formed in 1909 as the Service Aéronautique, a service arm of the French Army, then was made an independent military arm in 1933. This is a rare Model 1945 French Pilot's heavy steel helmet together with hinged steel collar armour. The helmet has a contoured neck guard and padded leather ridge to the forehead. The top of the helmet has a reinforced spine. The helmet retains some of it's original black paint and has no dents. The inside of the helmet has it's original leather and webbing liner and leather chin strap with buckle. The inside of the helmet also has it's original white paint marking 'Franck Modele 1945 France' and partially readable 'Milliers' name (illustrated). The helmet is approx UK size 7. The helmet is accompanied by it's original hinged steel collar armour secured by a raised steel stud. The collar is backed with leather and designed to protect the shoulders and chest of the pilot. Post 1901, Home Service Pattern, Scottish, 1st Forfarshire Volunteer Artillery Blue Cloth Helmet With Ball Top Mount Marked Patent 23092 & Regulation Cork Helmet . Sn 10249. - 10249
The 1st Artillery Volunteer Corps in Forfar was originally formed at Arbroath in Scotland in 1859. In 1880 the Brigade became the 1st Forfar Artillery Volunteers. In 1908, as a result of the re-organisation of the Territorial Force, they became part of the North Scottish Royal Garrison Artillery and a Battery of the 210 Highland Brigade Royal Field Artillery. This is an excellent Post 1901 Ball topped 1878 Pattern Home Service blue cloth helmet to the Forfarshire Volunteer Artillery. It has metal cross piece, ball top and rose bosses supporting link chin chain. The front of the helmet bears the impressive A Post 1901 white metal Helmet Plate of the 1st Forfarshire Volunteer Artillery. The plate has the King's Crown, Royal Arms, with scroll below inscribed “1st” over an artillery piece resting on a scroll “Forfarshire Volunteer Artllery”. The helmet plate is original with correct lug mounts. The helmet is complete with leather sweatband, stitched panel lining and red material with draw string (some of the hem stitching of the red material has perished with age but this could easily be repaired). The lining blue ink stamp 'Patent 23092' together with contemporary hand written pencil mark '6 9/8' (possibly size). The crown of the helmet has a lovely leather label embossed in gold 'Regulation Cork Helmet' (illustrated). It is approx. UK size 6 1/2 - 7. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10249

Original, WW2 Era, 1935 Pattern Polish Army Mechanized Troops & National Honour Guard Rogatywka Garrison Cap. Sn 10254 - 10254
"Rogatywka" is the Polish name for an asymmetrical, peaked,four-pointed military cap. "Rog" is a derivative of the word and means "horn". No other army in the world has such a cap. Specific skull band colours have specific Unit / Regiment designations. This is an excellent original Polish Army 1935 Pattern Rogatywka. It's khaki green serge body, patent leather brim with correct white metal rim, leather chin strap with buckle, green vented leather sweatband liner and quilted skull liner are all clean and undamaged. The cap has a dark blue cloth headband which indicates issue to Mechanized Troops & The National Honour Guard and is mounted with the silver bullion Polish Eagle Insignia mounted on green material backing. The lining has a manufacturer's embroided label 'Modus' and ink stamped size '56' protected by a clear plastic stitched panel. It also has a red ink stamp '103'. The inside of the sweatband has contemporary hand written ink initials 'MR'. The cap is approx. UK size 6 1/2 - 7. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10254
