WW2 1945 WD Scottish, Glasgow Highlanders Volunteers (Highland Light Infantry City Of Glasgow Regiment) Tam O Shanter Bonnet By S&P Harris Ltd Glasgow With Large Regiment Cap Badge. Sn 12434 - 12434
The Glasgow Highlanders was a former Infantry Regiment of the British Army, part of the Territorial Force, later renamed the Territorial Army. The Regiment eventually became a Volunteer Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment) in 1881. The Regiment based its cap badge upon that of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). The Regiment saw active service in both World War I and World War II. Elements of the Glasgow Highlanders fought at Normandy. This is an excellent original WW2 Tam O Shanter to the Glasgow Highlanders. Its khaki serge material is clean. It has the correct cotton adjustment cord and bears it's large metal Glasgow Highlanders badge. The top of the Tam O Shanter has a brown wool bobble. It's quilted liner is ink stamped with WD arrow, manufacturer’s name ‘S&P Harris Ltd Glasgow’ together with 1945 date and size ' 6 3/4'. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 12434

This RAF Nursing Officer’s hat is clean and undamaged. The lightweight felt tricorn form hat has its original cloth headband with cord and felt patch mounted with post 1952 gilt metal winged RAF badge and embroidered bullion and red felt Queens crown and bullion wreath. The silk sweatband on the inside of the hat is undamaged and the crown has a silk manufacturer’s label faintly marked ‘Moss Bros’. The tricorn hat is approx UK size 5. Price includes UK delivery. An original WW2 1945 dated British Royal Air Force Warrant Officer's field service side cap with brass King's Crown and Wings Cap Badge and brass buttons by S & P Harris Ltd, Glasgow. The blue serge RAF side cap is in excellent clean undamaged condition. It has original brass King's Crown and Wings cap badge secured onto a brass plate on the inside with brass nuts. Also two brass buttons to the front. The inside of the cap has it's original brown velvet headband and lining. The cap is UK size 7 3/8. It has the original lining inside which is stamped with "Caps F.S. B.G. W.O. 7 3/8 S & P Harris Ltd. Glasgow 1945" and the War Department 'Broad Arrow'. This is an excellent example of the side cap. SOLD SOLD (LAY-AWAY 29/11) Victorian Officer's 'Pillbox' Hat With Gold Bullion Embroidery By Hobson & Sons. Sn 11904 - 11904
A Victorian Army Officer's 'Pillbox' hat with gold bullion embroidery by Hobson & Sons. The hat was worn when not on parade or ceremonial duties and was for every day use. Other ranks had the similar hat but without the ornate embroidery. It is beautifully constructed of eight panels of navy blue Melton cloth and handsomely decorated with gold bullion to the crown and all around the tape border. It has a thin leather chin strap and was typically worn on the side of the head. It has a leather sweat band inside and red silk head liner. The head liner has the makers details, "Hobson & Sons Military Tailors, Outfitters and Army Contractors 1, 3 & 5 Lexington Street, Golden Square. W." The hat has no holes or rips and retains all of its stitching which is all secure. Altogether a very nice example. The price includes Uk delivery. Sn 11904

WW2 Hong Kong Military Service Corps (HKMSC) Burma Issue Tropical Slouch Hat With Dragon Divisional/ Formation Patch, Pagri Headband & Chin Strap. Sn 11872:8 - 11872:8
The HKMSC were formed from ethnic Chinese soldiers serving in the British Army. Their military history can be traced back to the 1880s when Hong Kong locals were employed by the Royal Engineers in the building of barracks and defence works. Many ethnic Chinese Hong Kongers fought alongside the British troops in the defence of Hong Kong in WW2. One battle group of the British Battalions consisted of 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment, 2nd Battalion Royal Scots and the Hong Kong Chinese Regiment. A large number of ethnic Chinese Hong Kongers were killed or became prisoners of war. The HKMSC saw active service outside Hong Kong in Burma in 1942 against the Japanese forces, they fought alongside the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment. This is an original WW2 Tropical Slouch Hat To the HKMSC. It has its original khaki Pagri headband and its khaki body is undamaged. It has its original ventilation holes at the edge of the crown and press stud fastener on the left side of the brim and skull. The left side of the brim is stitch mounted with its original embroidered cloth Divisional/ Formation Patch with vivid colour Chinese Golden Dragon on a field of red (the red colour has faded over time with light exposure) and horizontal black band. The hat has its original leather sweatband and chin strap (one end of the chinstrap is perished but could easily be replaced). Price includes UK delivery. Sn 11872:8

This is a very good Victorian Royal Fusiliers Officers Pill box hat. It is 7 1/4 inches in diameter at its widest point and 2 1/4 inches high. It has a scarlet crown and body with lower blue band and blue braid crown Austrian knots and button. The hat is mounted with its original Queen Victoria Crown bullion embroidery Royal Fusiliers badge and has a thin cord chin strap. It has a tan quilted silk sweatband and crown with gilt manufacturer mark ‘A.J. White London 74 Jermyn Street St James London SW’ together with Royal appointment ‘Hatter To The Royal Family’ & heraldic arms. This is an excellent original War Dept marked, WW2 dated Gurkha Uniform pill box hat. The hat, which has a thin leather chin strap, is good quality, 8 inches in diameter at its widest point and 4 inches high with central wool bobble at the crown. It is dark Navy blue with red piping. It has a clean soft leather sweat band. It has no damage, mothing or repair. The Royal Flying Corps (RFC) was the air arm of the British Army before and during the First World War, until it merged with the Royal Naval Air Service on 1 April 1918 to form the Royal Air Force. This is an excellent original British Royal Flying Corps (RFC) Pilot’s side cap. Made of cotton it has a quilted lining and embossed brass Kings crown heraldic arms buttons. It has its original large WW1 Era 'King's Crown RFC' brass cap badge. The cap including its lining has some service wear and stains consistent with age. The cap is approx UK size 6. RARE, ORIGINAL, 1922-1937 Irish Free State Army Officer’s Dress Shako With Bullion Embroidered Free State Cockade. HE 857 - HE 857 / 11646
In 1922 after much civil disorder between Loyalists and Republicans including the Easter Rising of 1916 the Irish Free State was established in 1922 under the Anglo-Irish Treaty signed by British and Irish representatives. The Free State had its own armed forces. The Free State came to an end in 1937, when under the new constitution the Irish state was named Ireland (Eire). This is an original Irish Free State Army Officer’s dress Shako. It has a dark blue cloth over a hard body with red piping around the body and the bullion embroidered Free State cockade in the centre. It has a red cloth crown with gold and black piping and intricate embroidered geometric design. It has a patent brim with patent strap and Free State embossed buttons either side. The shako has its original liner and the leather sweatband is impressed ‘Real Calf Leather’. The shako is clean and undamaged. It is approx. UK size 6. Price for this rare Shako includes UK delivery.
