Hand Crafted Buffalo Horn Handled Small Nepalese Kukri With 2 Skinning Knives & Scabbard With Hand Tooled Silver Work. Sn 11349 - 11349
A very good hand crafted Buffalo Horn handled Nepalese Kukri, complete with scabbard and two skinning knives. The knife has a heavy 5½” steel curved kukri blade which has a single edge and hand tooled decoration on both sides. As is typical of the Kukri form blade it is 'notched' near to the hilt. The blade is undamaged. It measures 8 ¾” overall. The handle is carved Buffalo Horn with brass ferrule and pommel cap. The scabbard is rich velvet covered wood, encased in hand tooled silver work incorporating stylised foliate panels and band with central small shield pendant. The throat of the scabbard has 2 small fixed hanging rings with a later addition twisted wire loop. The rear of the scabbard has a velvet pouch which contains its 2 original small Buffalo Horn handled skinning knives with 1 ½” single edged steel blades. An excellent quality hand crafted bone handled Gurkha presentation Kukri, complete with scabbard and two skinning knives. The knife has a heavy 8 ½” polished steel curved kukri blade which has a single edge and hand tooled decoration with brass inlays along both sides of the blade. As is typical of the Kukri form blade it is 'notched' near to the hilt. The blade is clean sharp and undamaged. It measures 12” overall. The handle is carved polished bone with brass ferrule. The scabbard is rich velvet covered wood, encased in fine hand tooled silver work incorporating stylised birds, animals, flowers and the crossed Kukri device of the Gurkha Regiment. The scabbard also has a thin silver chain attached with a small silver shield pendant. The rear of the scabbard has a velvet pouch which contains its 2 original small bone handled skinning knives with 2” single edged steel blades. Made C1942 This is an interesting ornate WW2 C1942 7th Gurkhas presentation Kukri with scabbard hand crafted in the form of a service revolver & holster. The Kukri itself has a 5 ½” curved blade with etched panels on both sides. It has a hand carved curved wood chequered ‘pistol grip’ handle incorporating a carved ‘pistol hammer’ and plated metal fittings representing the butt plate with military lanyard ring and ‘action’ of a revolver. The Kukri is 8 ¾” overall. The scabbard made of hand carved wood has plated metal fittings representing the cylinder, frame and muzzle of a revolver. The bottom edge of the scabbard has a plated fitting representing the trigger and trigger guard of a revolver. There is also a separate hanging ring. The central metal fitting of the scabbard is engraved ‘Presented By Lt (QCO) Manbir Limbu To Lt Col MGD Henderson’ above the inset metal badge of the 7th Gurkhas. Superb, Original, C1475 Muromachi Period Japanese Tanto With Hand Forged Blade, Tang Signed 'KOTOU UDA KUNIMUNE', Small Kozuka Knife & Scabbard Together With Traditional Blade Storage Scabbard & TOKEN KENKYU RENGOKAI Papers. Sn 9001 - 9001
This is a superb original C1475 Muromachi Period Japanese Tanto. The blade is 7 1/4" long in good polish and has a straight hamon. The tang is signed KOTOU UDA KUNIMUNE and is from the mid Muromachi period c1475. The overall length of the shira saya is 13". The length of the koshirae is 21" but it will only take this blade. The fittings are in keeping with the age of the blade. Iron tsuba and fuchi and what appears to be a shakudo kashira. It has a beautiful pair of menuki which are either hornets or bees. The small Kozuka Knife fits the scabbard perfectly and is ornately decorated with a Gilt Peacock. The Tanto is complete with a traditional wood blade storage scabbard with handle that fits the blade perfectly and which has kept this blade in superb condition. A wooden blade accompanies the piece and fits neatly into the Tanto handle keeping the hilt fittings in their correct place whenever the Tanto blade is stored in the wooden scabbard. RARE, WW2 Eastern Front Era Model 1932 Royal Hungarian Air Force Pilot Officer’s Dress Dagger & Scabbard. Sn 11308 - 11308
Following the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in 1918, a small air arm was established operating surviving aircraft from Hungarian factories and training schools. During 1938, the army's aviation service was reorganized and expanded. It subsequently participated in clashes with the newly established Slovak Republic and in the border confrontation with Romania. In April 1941, operations were conducted in support of the German invasion of Yugoslavia and, on 27 June 1941, Hungary declared war on the Soviet Union. In the summer of 1942, an air brigade was attached to the Luftwaffe's VIII. Fliegerkorps on the Eastern Front. Beginning March 1944, Allied bomber raids began on Hungary and progressively increased in intensity. Late in 1944 all efforts were redirected towards countering the advancing Red Army. This is a rare Model 1932 Royal Hungarian Air Force Pilot Officer’s dagger with Scabbard. The dagger has an 8 ½” double edged clean blade with square shank ricasso and medial ridge. The blade tapers to a pin sharp point. It has the correct gilt brass fittings including, large ‘Eagle with spread wings’ cross guard, ‘Eagle’s head pommel’ and grooved wood handle. The rear of the brass ferrule of the hilt has a press button scabbard retaining catch which works correctly. It measures 13 ¼” overall and has its original its original gilt brass scabbard, which is attractively decorated with Hungarian crest and geometric patterns. The scabbard has 2 fixed hanging rings. A Victorian Renaissance Form Prostitute’s Dagger With Spanish Toledo Blade & Scabbard. ED 2397 - ED 2397
Victorian era Swords & Daggers were often made in the form of Medieval or Renaissance period weapons. This excellent original Victorian era dagger is in the form of a 16th century dagger similar to those used by Prostitutes for self protection. The dagger measures 11 ½” overall and has a 6 ½” long single edged Spanish Toledo steel blade which tapers to a pin sharp point (The area of Toledo in Spain has for centuries been renowned for the production of quality blades). The blade is beautifully engraved with foliate panels on both sides and the ricasso of one side is marked ‘Fabrica De Toledo’. It has a one piece Walnut handle with wire binding which is nice and tight, steel ferrule, cross guard with decoratively cut down swept quillons and steel ball top pommel. This is an excellent original WW2 Italian Fighting Knife & Scabbard. These knives have blades similar to WW1 Austro Hungarian trench/ fighting daggers and were constructed In Part from The 2nd Pattern Italian fascist, MVSN Dagger (see page 75 plates 376-377 of Stephen’s book ‘Fighting Knives’). The knife has an 8 ¼” single edged blade which has no damage and just light staining consistent with age. It measures 13 ¼” overall. It has the correct contoured wood handle with rivetsand oval steel cross guard. The knife is complete with its original steel scabbard with fixed steel belt loop. An original Austro Hungarian WW1 Fighting/Trench Knife & Scabbard. The knife has a single edge 8 1/2" steel blade with an overall length of 13". The blade is in very good condition. The ricasso has the 'archer' mark of the rare manufacturer 'Joachim Winternitz, Independent bayonet maker in Steyr, Austria'. The smooth wooden grips are secured with rivets. The scabbard is metal, retains it's original green finish and has integral fixed belt rings at the rear of the throat. This is a very good condition, rare trench knife and scabbard. The kris is a type of dagger, often with a pistol-gripped shaped handle. Traditionally worn as a status symbol and carried by warriors. The kris is characterised by its distinctive wavy blade. The blade is given its characteristic shape by folding different types of metal together and then washing it in acid. Kris were said to be infused with venom during their forging but the method of doing this was a closely guarded secret among blacksmiths. This is an excellent Malayan Kris most likely made in the late 1800's -Early 1900's. It has a beautiful 15 1/2" long acid washed, hand forged Kris blade which incorporates it's ornate barbed design. The handle is beautifully hand crafted from antique Ivory or Bone and has a decorative ferrule. The dagger measures 19 3/4" overall and is complete with it's original hardwood scabbard. KA-BAR is the contemporary popular name for the combat knife first adopted by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in November 1942 during WW2. This is an excellent Post war original Israeli Military example of the Kabar Pattern knife complete with leather sheath. The knife has a 7" steel clip point blade and compressed leather-washer handle. The ricasso is crisply marked with an Israeli State Star.
